I wrongly assumed I could never be as good of a player compared to my early twenties, but Barre class got me back to that level (and I think even beyond it!) thanks to Wendy's Barre class. You don't even have to play a sport to see results, I would recommend Barre class at Center of Gravity to anyone! Everyone is super nice and very welcoming.

Thankfully, I found Center of Gravity and I am now a strong believer in the restorative benefits of yoga. Learning to breathe with movement and, strengthening my body through practice has resulted in increased flexibility for myself and less pain from arthritis. My instructors Wendy Orrison, Karen Stanley, Jen Coluzzi and Susan Dixon are professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and welcoming. During this time of Covid-19 the studio has offered almost all of their classes on-line at a discounted price to assist their clients and foster community. There is no judgement at Center of Gravity, whether you are a novice or someone who has done yoga all of their life. The environment is warm, inclusive of everyone and is a place to experience joy and laughter.

Ashtanga Yoga is the perfect integration of hot yoga's physical fitness and the graceful flow (kind of dance-like) and breath. I was terrified to try Ashtanga thinking it would be too advanced for me or too demanding, but I found the instructor gently guided me through each and every move and each preceding flow was in preparation for the next level. I have tried hot yoga, vinyassa, and Astanga. For me, I dig Ashtanga because some days, I simply want to break a sweat and feel like I have accomplished a good work out. Other days I want to feel the constant movement and flow with the work out and others, I simply wish for the meditative-flow/ spiritual aspect of yoga. The way that Donna teaches Ashtanga allows you to take it how you want. There is no pushing for the ultimate work out or the highest of spiritual experiences, but she guides you to make your own decision and own it in that moment. I also dig the Vinyassa or flow. It is gentle enough to take my friends who are timid to take yoga, but once again there is the option to bump it up. The flow of both reminds me of a dance. Have yet to try any classes other than Vinyassa and Ashtanga, but I dig the other clients and it feels like a great yoga community building up. Sorry if this was to rant-y, but I just truly found my passion for yoga with JRYoga. Hope this helps!

Her personal attention and extensive use of props help me to be settled and thoughtful in my poses, and to safely access parts of my body that I didn't know existed! Every class is different and purposefully constructed. She provides instruction, demonstration, individual modifications and props as needed so that each student can experience and benefit from their own safe and accessible version of a pose. Her classes are engaging and challenging for my 50-something body, as well as my husband and our 23 year old daughter. I highly recommend Diana for both beginning and experienced yogis.

The first thing that really set A Good Stretch apart was the focus on the individual and doing poses safely. I've had many friends hurt themselves trying to do a yoga video at home. Diana asks that you fill out a questionnaire regarding your goals and any injuries or health problems. She then uses that to tailor a program for you. You are allowed to go at your own pace and comfort level with individualized instruction. Every class I am amazed what my body can do and how great I feel. And, it's been really great for my posture! Having this one on one attention is what sets these classes apart. I feel like I am working to better myself and not competing or trying to keep up with everyone else.

As a beginner yogi, I am always wanting feedback on my form, and I appreciated that the instructors would stay after and answer any questions I had and also give me additional feedback. However, my latest experience after the 30 day trial wasn't the best, and I don't think I'll be returning. I attended my first aerial level 2 class, and I felt like a burden the entire time. It appeared that everyone was already well bonded--which was fine, but there wasn't much explanation behind any of the poses, and it was expected that I know poses that were completely foreign coming from level one. This was really discouraging, and I know I have a lot of room for growth in my practice, but I'd rather do it in a space where I feel comfortable with where I am in my practice.
