Do not trust this company. They do not stand behind their work. My husband and I bought a house and…read morewere told it was getting a new roof with a 25 year warranty. After two years, the roof started to leak and the company was called out. The owner accepted no responsibility for the leaks and told my husband that they were due to squirrels on our roof. So my husband did some minor fixes to hopefully alleviate the leaks. A few months later when it rained very heavily, the leak got worse. We called an emergency roofer to come out and apply a temporary fix. He explained that the problem was due to installation mistakes from Peacock Roofing and that since the roof was under warranty, we should call them to fix it. So we did. Again, the owner came out and accepted no responsibility for the leaks claiming it was the siding or piping he "didn't know". We know it was the installation of the shingles because when the emergency roofer came out and fixed it temporarily, the leak stopped. The owner of Peacock Roofing then explained that the warranty didn't cover repairs because it was not in our name (even though we went into Escrow two days before the roof was put on and the roofing company was made aware of that). The owner said he would not fix the roof for free and suggest we find a new roofer. So again I tell you, STAY AWAY! The owner is not knowledgeable or personable and God help you if your roof leaks because it'll be everyone's fault but theirs. Update: as you can see by the owner's comments, he accepts no responsibility for his work. Not only that, but you can tell by his poor grammar and punctuation mistakes that my husband and I are not dealing with a well-educated man. What's interesting to me is the lies he is trying to tell to cover up the fact that he did shoddy work. The sealant issue he is talking about with squirrels chewing the roof came from another leak we pointed out back in July. That area of the roof is much lower than the area where the leak is coming from. My husband did not use tar, but sealant at the suggestion of Barry himself. Also, the lie about the contract for the house being submitted way after the roof was put on? I attached pictures of the executed date of our contract. It shows May 5th, and the I've also attached the receipt for the roof which shows May 7th. Barry lied to us on October 8th when he came out claiming that he had no knowledge of the house being sold. The roof was paid for using a check from the realtor. As you can see from the signature on the receipt, Barry was well aware that the house was being sold. If my husband and I are so "off base" with these outlandish claims, then I'm confused as to why the Better Business Bureau has placed Peacock Roofing on pre-suspension pending a formal investigation? We asked for a complete roof inspection to be done by a separate roofing company who found $1800 worth of issues that need to be fixed due to poor installation from Peacock Roofing. Perhaps now you will see that this company cannot be trusted and will do everything in their power to lie their way out of fixing their work.
