Daryl and his crew were down to earth, responsive, professional, and always on time. They made what could have been a stressful process feel smooth and well organized. Over the course of two trips, everything was handled with great care. Every item was placed exactly where it needed to be, they accommodated all of our requests without issue, and nothing was damaged. On top of that, they even assembled all of the new furniture, which made a huge difference. Daryl and his team truly do it all, and it shows in the quality of their work. I hired Southern Maine Movers for a Maine-to-Florida move. We agreed on $11,000 plus $1,500, but…read moreended up with a disorganized mess and another $3,300 charge for a second truck--because they ran out of space after loading bags of concrete and random items. Labeling was done last-minute, breakage was extensive, and they sent only two movers to unload both trucks. I had to bring in three more people and pay them myself. Beds weren't documented during disassembly, so reassembly fell on me--manuals and all. The final straw? They didn't properly hitch the trailer. It disconnected 2,000 feet from my new home. Absolutely reckless. This is not a professional operation. Skip the drama--hire real movers.

Still unconvinced I made the call. Long story short, Don came over and looked at the job. He gave me an estimate of how many hours it would take. I backed many of my belongings in boxes, Don and his team moved the boxes and several large pieces of furniture. Did I mention he was fast, wow they didn't waste time once on the job. Don charges a reasonable price by the hour and his estimate for me was on target. There was no breakage or damage to any of my belongings and I would use him again in a minute. Don kept in touch with me about schedule changes and ended up getting the job done a little ahead of time. Take a load off your mind and hire Don and his team of dedicated movers. I don't know how it would have gotten done without him.

I found Ultimate Transitions on Yelp while searching for companies that handle local moves in…read moreMaine, and it was one of the first companies I heard back from. Joe was highly responsive and provided a succinct overview of service and costs. I appreciated his comfort in communicating via text, and we also had a couple of brief phone calls. I was very confident to book my move with Ultimate Transitions, and I am so glad I did. Moving is one of the most stressful things to go through. On moving day, Joe showed up on time and handled all of the logistics with professionalism and care. We needed help moving some bigger pieces of furniture around in the space as well, and he demonstrated real expertise in deconstructing and rebuilding, navigating doorways, and understanding dimensions and angles. Joe's confidence is clearly the result of over a decade of experience. Most importantly, the Ultimate Transitions crew was kind and genuine--not a small thing for me, especially during the stress of moving. I would call them again in a heartbeat and am a big supporter of this emerging business here in Maine.
