Mind you, it's the middle of winter and the country is in the grips of a global pandemic. I called the guys at D&J and my call was answered by a real person, there was no "Press 1 for this...press 2 for that..." I easily scheduled a weekend appointment-even with the threat of winter storms they were willing to keep an eye on the forecast and stressed their flexibility. He quoted me that a typical move like mine would be about 4 hours. I had packed all that I could into moving boxes. With the exception of furniture. Which, they broke apart AND reassembled perfectly in my new place!!! Score! They arrived promptly on a Saturday morning, they practiced masking and social distancing and you could tell the way the team performed seamlessly that these guys knew what they were doing and they treated my possessions with kid gloves. They went above and beyond during this freezing winter move. With one guy on his knees with a hammer chiseling my frozen BBQ grill from the snow bank that encompassed it! They accept cash and check only -I wished I could have paid with my debit card as I seldom use cash now-a-days. But, that said, the crew waited for me to dash to the ATM up the street, so I paid that way. For me, they charged $130.00 an hour. And it was beyond worth it! They spent 3.5 hours between both places, that included disassembling and reassembling my bed and my daughters bed. These guys know what they are doing. They were quick, professional, approachable and treated my furniture like their own!

Moving is never pleasant, especially when you do it yourself. The costs slowly add up: gasoline,…read moretaxes, mileage charges or one-way fees. You bribe your friends with pizza and beer. You hope the weather will cooperate. Stuff gets dropped, scuffed, damaged. Friendships strained. You waste valuable time-time that could be spent hiking, biking, fishing, flying a kite, playing video games, volunteering or hugging loved ones. When all of these costs are tallied, what are you really saving? I was recently confronted with this miasma of unpleasantness and decided how much it would cost to hire professionals. In less time than it would have taken me to conscript my friends, I had a price quote - and a good one at that. The morning of the move, I had two uniformed professionals arrive at my door on time and my move was complete before the clock struck noon. And I had the remainder of an unseasonably warm February day to do as I pleased. Priceless. On what would have been a stressful moving day, I was left with peace of mind. The folks at Liberty Bell Moving are prompt, courteous, nimble, and steeped in professionalism. Highly recommended.

As this was new construction and nothing had been moved upstairs prior to Liberty Bell it is clear that they caused the damage. We paid $475 to have the painting company repair the damage. I sent pictures to Liberty Bell but the pictures were not time-stamped before and after so Liberty takes no responsibility. Who anticipates damage and takes before pictures anyway? Also they were to take a king sized bed (no Mattress) to a charity but at the move day they told us that their truck was too full so they would not do it. Another negative is that before, during, and after the move I was never able to speak with a live person. Definitely would not recommend. Feel free to contact me with questions as I note that Liberty Bell tends to call bad reviews fakes. Dan

Gordon himself runs this business with his family as they have done for decades and their dedication to the highest quality of work and customer satisfaction is as clear as day. They take the time to assess your home in person to provide as accurate as possible a cost estimate and to properly allocate labor and materials. They provide many ways of assuring that the move will go as planned and that any unexpected challenges would be taken care of if they arose. They were incredibly kind and communicative and went out of their way to assure that we would have a smooth and comfortable move. Their commitment to their customers satisfaction fully included the work of the movers as well. Their team handled both the moving and also packing of our entire home, and everything was done with care and efficiency. I have used many moving services over the years and we were very impressed by Gordon's and have absolutely no hesitation recommending them for a move and would happily hire them again if needed.

My husband and I recently went through an unexpected and stressful move, and I cannot express enough how grateful we are that we hired Gordon's. From the very beginning, when Gordon came to do an estimate, he was so understanding and kind, all the way through to the last day when they completed our move, everything was done with exceptional service, professionalism, kindness, courtesy, and genuine care. This is one of those rare companies that truly cares about you, wants to make your life easier, and is dedicated to providing excellent service. Gordon and Cathy are absolutely wonderful people who clearly love what they do, are very good at it, and are exactly who you want running a company. And their team... WOW! The group of young men on their team are AMAZING! On top of being incredibly hardworking, they were the nicest individuals. We never heard them complain once despite working very long days (and in the heat, no less!), they were so sweet with our toddler, asked questions to ensure that everything was packed & moved exactly how/where we wanted, and each and every one of them did an absolutely remarkable job. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about them, as well as Gordon and Cathy. To say we were fortunate to have them help us through this move is a huge understatement. I also want to underscore that we are a military family and have moved seven times in the past ten years, so we have a lot of experience with moving companies. Gordon's Moving is by far, without question, THE VERY BEST.

I was frustrated that the owner/spokesperson Ely insisted I needed two 26-foot trucks and a five person team to move out of a 1096 sq ft space into a 784 sq ft home. Ely stressed me out for an entire week while I agreed I would probably need one full size truck, I was giving a lot away before moving (which I explained) and two large trucks would be overkill. The move ended up needing half of one 26 foot truck. Afterwards, I get no acknowledgement or apology from Ely on his mis-diagnosis. he had me stressed for days on the cost of my move. I am sure I paid for the extra large truck they needed to fill with gas and drag around the entire move. At this point, I'm just glad it's over.

We interviewed three different movers, and were most impressed by Becky from Mayflower. She spent the time with us, took a close look of all we needed to pack, and gave us a reasonable estimate. She also promised to be in touch through the entire moving process and followed through, answering questions and giving advice when needed. The Mayflower crew that arrived came with years of experience, a good knowledge of how to handle antiques, and a desire to make things as easy for us as possible. They all wore masks without complaint and put up with chilly house temps since we opened all the windows for ventilation. We were especially impressed with Pete who was in charge and did his best to accommodate us. As planned, Pete arrived 2 days later with his crew to unload all our furniture at our new home. They showed incredible patience as we tried to figure out where to place furniture. They handled it all with good humor and managed to get our entire household from Maine to Vermont in excellent shape. We feel fortunate to have had such a caring and competent moving company.
