As this was new construction and nothing had been moved upstairs prior to Liberty Bell it is clear that they caused the damage. We paid $475 to have the painting company repair the damage. I sent pictures to Liberty Bell but the pictures were not time-stamped before and after so Liberty takes no responsibility. Who anticipates damage and takes before pictures anyway? Also they were to take a king sized bed (no Mattress) to a charity but at the move day they told us that their truck was too full so they would not do it. Another negative is that before, during, and after the move I was never able to speak with a live person. Definitely would not recommend. I was frustrated that the owner/spokesperson Ely insisted I needed two 26-foot trucks and a five person team to move out of a 1096 sq ft space into a 784 sq ft home. Ely stressed me out for an entire week while I agreed I would probably need one full size truck, I was giving a lot away before moving (which I explained) and two large trucks would be overkill. The move ended up needing half of one 26 foot truck. Afterwards, I get no acknowledgement or apology from Ely on his mis-diagnosis. he had me stressed for days on the cost of my move. I am sure I paid for the extra large truck they needed to fill with gas and drag around the entire move. At this point, I'm just glad it's over.

We interviewed three different movers, and were most impressed by Becky from Mayflower. She spent the time with us, took a close look of all we needed to pack, and gave us a reasonable estimate. She also promised to be in touch through the entire moving process and followed through, answering questions and giving advice when needed. The Mayflower crew that arrived came with years of experience, a good knowledge of how to handle antiques, and a desire to make things as easy for us as possible. They all wore masks without complaint and put up with chilly house temps since we opened all the windows for ventilation. We were especially impressed with Pete who was in charge and did his best to accommodate us. As planned, Pete arrived 2 days later with his crew to unload all our furniture at our new home. They showed incredible patience as we tried to figure out where to place furniture. They handled it all with good humor and managed to get our entire household from Maine to Vermont in excellent shape. We feel fortunate to have had such a caring and competent moving company.
