That said, they said they would move me on Friday. i called several times, sent a text, sent an email- nothing. I literally sat at a bar with tears in my eyes not knowing what to do. If they just called me and said they couldn't move me to Saturday, then I would have at least known they still were going to show up. I was posting all over fb for help, couldn't get a Uhaul until mid Saturday afternoon, it was just horrible. These people were just so nice I never thought I would have been leaving a bad review on them. in the end; I got a call at 2pm from the husband (Dan) I let him know how horrible this was to do to someone. i was in such a bind, I still had them come. I give stars to the guys that moved me but 1 star for what this couple did to me. The emotional stress they caused me will never be forgotten. To note: they did charge me more than my estimate and had the moving guys charge me, again they did not answer my call when I tried to call. i just paid it! Despite having to reschedule the actual date (due to illness), the office staff was very supportive and accommodating. Being presented with two flights of stairs, tricky doorways and many family antique furniture items needing special care when packing, the amazing patience and creative problem solving abilities of movers Jordan and Damian made the actual relocation smooth and efficient. Midwest Moving was very communicative from the moment we reached out to them. Their quote was…read morereasonable; however, I was fairly certain that they had underestimated the time, which they had. I believe they charge you from the time they leave their facility until the time they return, so keep that in mind when estimating your own cost and keep careful track of when they come and go so that you don't get charged more as that almost happened to us. Their employees were friendly and polite and arrived within the timeframe they had promised. We had three guys show (instead of the two that were expected). They moved the furniture fairly quickly as we had a tight window to complete the move on both ends. Unfortunately, there were a couple of items (an electric fireplace and a shelf that we are aware of thus far) that we discovered had minor damage, so be sure to wrap everything carefully that you really care about. They also forgot to bring some of the bolts for the bed frame (which we discovered later) and their drill from the first location, so my husband had to drive back to original house to let them in. Despite these few issues, we were happy to have movers who actually showed up when promised and did what they said they were going to do. We would absolutely consider using them again.

The 2 guys were so pleasant and really hustled though. After the move was complete, we found a small gouge in an acoustic tile in the stairwell, but no other damage. We have hired movers numerous times, and this by far was the smoothest operation.
