Liberate from lameness with Libations! A drive-thru liquor store you can drink inside?! What?! Yea- they sell frozen drinks to go with a few margarita machines and daquiri machines selling boozy slushees that you can drink there or on the go! There's a healthy selection of liquor here- they have an especially deep inventory of local whiskeys! Score! In fact, this was one of the better places to go for local drinks. They have a good wine selection, but I wasn't shopping for wines. They have some cool setup for wine drinkers, but I came for the whiskey. The beer selection was wide and varied, but didn't have the breweries from Cody, down the street. The staff was friendly, and helped me bag everything up on the way out. Drive through liquor store, need I say more? Ok, this may be familiar to others, but it was new to me. I was in the search for some huckleberry vodka, which I understand is a regional thing. Given my well documented (on yelp) appreciation for chilled vodka, I thought a bottle of something new would be in order. This was the second store I tried. They did not have it either, but they did have a very nice selection of alcohols. However, their wine selection was really robust, surprisingly so. This liquor store also had a bar in it, as I gather many in Wyoming do, so I had seen that at my first stop as well. I was not prepared for the drive thru window though. And when I commented on it out loud (I was in deep surprise), another patron said, "oh sure, we have drive through bars too..." That seems somehow criminal to me, or at least a very very bad idea, but what do I know? Meanwhile, this is a large store/bar, easy parking, right on the "main drag" through Cody, and if you are looking for a wine I'd come here. If you are looking for a basic spirit I'd come here too, but for something really off the beaten path this may not be the place. The employee seemed to be the only one working, and either we all arrived at the same moment, 2 in line, one at the drive through, and me, or they need another staff person. Drive through liquor store! Can drink inside. Yeah. Not a wine person but apparently the prices are a bit high. Large selection of liquor and beer. Alcoholic smoothies or slurpies are amazing. Sample a few then get one to go. DELICIOUS! The staff is friendly and relaxed. Last winter some jerk broke the door/window so steal a single bottle of Jim Beam. This establishment deserves better than that! Honestly though the frozen drinks are great. A stop every time I visit for work. Also tell anyone visiting Yellowstone or Cody to stop by if they can. Parking out front. Right on the main strip of town. What more could you want? read more

Super bummed about our time at Libations... Alan and Hailey were serving and we were enjoying some wine at their self serve machines. I keyed in a glass of wine and was charged for the full glass but the bottle ran out... I thought they would cover the glass that I paid for but sadly they refused. It was a bizarre business and customer service practice and clearly the ownership hasn't empowered their people to make sure their clientele have a great experience. Very disappointing and I feel totally cheated. Bummer. read more

This review is just for their wine tasting area. They have the Napa brand wine dispensing machines. Buy a card for whatever amount you want at the register then help yourself to the offerings on the machine. They had some pours that were just 55 cents. I had put $10 on my card before I looked at the prices. This has to be the most economical place ever to try 8 different wines. Glassware and table seating area were both fine. read more

Traveling through Wyoming, we spent the night in Cody. I'm always on the look out for solid liquor stores that carry regional brews. Libations blew me away. The atmosphere is welcoming. Beer selection was massive and the wine selection looked the same. I picked up a 4-pack of double IPA from Grand Teton Brewing. The employees were nice and very helpful. Wished I lived here so I could frequent this spot! read more
