We landed at Dr. Vanita Bagdure at Allen Internal Medicine. Not only did she take her time to listen to us, but her bedside manner was lovely. That was important to me more so than my Husband. Our visits never felt rushed and she's good at following up if needed. My Husband and I have two different needs and she addressed them both with ease. If we were wanting to do things naturally, she would listen and give suggestions. If we felt that we were needing medicine for help, she listened and helped us with the right fit. She was not pushy with medications nor did it feel like she had any other hidden agenda but to listen to our ailments and help us navigate them. I have auto-immune issues and she keeps a careful eye on my labs. I also needed help with weight management and she was spot on with a regime and treatment that worked right for me. Her office is new and clean and right off the freeway for easy access. We've not had any problems getting an appointment with her.

I went in for a prescription and told Dr I don't want it prescribed for 1 month when new insurance kicked in. When I called a month later for prescription, was told I needed another appointment! On a side note, Dr was nice and treated my family good, but due to the many appointments and miscommunications with meds we decided to see another Dr.

I've been a patient at Internal Medicine Associates since September 2025, and overall, the medical…read morecare has been top-tier. The Pros: Dr. Bishop is phenomenal. Finding a doctor who actually takes the time to understand how a specific medication will mesh with your lifestyle and body is rare. She's incredibly thorough and has been very accessible via the patient portal whenever I had follow-up questions. The nursing staff also deserves a shout-out. They are wonderful and very understanding. During my last visit, one of the nurses gave me some great, practical tips for managing my allergies, even sharing what works for her own kids, which I really appreciated. The Cons: My initial experience was a total nightmare due to insurance hurdles. While that isn't the fault of the practice itself (third-party insurance is the absolute worst), it definitely made the start of my journey here rocky. More recently, they've implemented a new sign-in sheet process. Since this was a change from previous visits, I mistakenly thought it was only for new patients. When the front desk clerk asked me to sign in, she responded with a confused look and a bit of a rude tone. It was a minor friction point, but a little more patience for returning patients adjusting to the new workflow would go a long way!

It's rare these days to find a doctor who not only remembers your history but genuinely cares about you as a whole person and that is exactly who she is. Dr. Bergman has walked with me through some of my most challenging medical moments over the years, as well as my victories. She always takes time to listen, never rushes appointments, and treats every concern with compassion, patience, and thoroughness. Her clinical judgment is outstanding, and her ability to explain things in a way that makes sense has helped me understand and manage my health so much better. What I appreciate most is that she treats me like a human being, not a chart number. You can feel that she truly cares about her patients, their families, and their long-term well-being. In an era where medical care can feel rushed and impersonal, she remains a shining example of what healthcare should be. I am incredibly grateful for her continued support, dedication, and consistency over more than a decade and a half. If you're looking for a primary care physician who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly committed to her patients, I cannot recommend Dr. Bergman enough. She absolutely deserves every star -- and then some.

I have been a long-time participant in the North Texas Preferred Health Partners network. At no…read moretime have I received less than adequate medical care. At times the service and personal physician relationship was exemplary. However, was the actual medical treatment better than a standard medical provider? No. With that being said, I also state that I canceled my subscription to NTPHP's concierge medicine (CM) practice in March (2024). If you are considering subscribing to a preferred provider practice, there are things you need to know when discussing your options with the doctor. I have made a career working with physician practices and seven years as a patient of NTPHP. I will give a detailed overview and opinion of why concierge medicine may not be for you. I grew up in an era where "your word was your bond" and your handshake was your seal. Be sure when discussing the advantages of a concierge medicine that the verbal commitments (sales pitch) align with the legal contract. Don't be misled into believing that this form of medical practice was designed for your benefit. It was not. If your time is more valuable than your money, if money is no object, then CM has its place. If you are on a limited or fixed income, you could be making a grave financial mistake. If you would like to know the details of how most CM practices work, I have provided a detailed free link to the Concierge Practice Fundamentals© you should know before starting your discussions or signing the CM contract. https://josephdougan.substack.com/p/concierge-practice-fundamentals
