A staple in the Copacabana area of Brazil. I highly recommend making a stop here for a quick coffee and or dessert. They also offer many breakfast options and plenty of seating for anyone in the area. My favorite would have to be the empanada. It was warmed up and had the right amount of crunch and softness. This place definitely got the job done!

Love this quiet place. Great place for breakfast with an attentive staff. Much much better than any hotel restaurant breakfast buffet with people climbing on top of each other.

A cute little Coffee shop located in the Copacabna! We came here for the desserts, specifically the for the brigadeiros, which are like golf-ball sized deserts with filling inside. As soon as you walk in, you can see a bunch of them on the glass. There are many different types and it's definitely hard to choose just one type. We ended up getting 3 different ones just to try out. They were definitely very sweet once you bite into them. Super Well made though, and they were essentially filled with caramel cores along with other super sweet fillings. The service was super nice as well & the ambiance. We came here for sweets and we left happy

Some say if you don't have enough Brigadeiro (chocalate golf ball size dessert) guests may leave your special event early! I had breakfast here daily and was greeted with warm hospitality and smiles. I ordered the Brigadeiro which was simply amazing, coffee, tea, the LF breakfast platter which includes a bread basket, jam, papaya, ham/cheese, orange juice, tea and sweet bread. The breakfast platter can feed two! The sweet bread and the papaya (in season) were the standouts from the platter. The sweet bread was moist and had a balanced sweetness with a soft cornbread texture. On other occasions, I stopped at the cafe for the tomato quiche and other pastries. The flavors and presentation of all the food was consistent. Lastly the decadent rich flavor of the hot chocolate is a must try. Treat yourself!

The place is beautiful and reminded me of the french cafes, but the Copacabana Breakfast doesn't seem like Copacabana at all. The bread was too tosted, the cake was too dry with no sugar on top and that small hotel butter cups isn't nice for a 30 reais meal, I think a slice of cheese is not that much expensive. But the coffee is good though.

Great little cafe with an assortment of coffee, juice and great empanadas and other food. Could use a second server as they get busy.

Cute little cafe down the street from my hotel on Copacabana Beach. The coffee was on point and their pastries were so delicious! Loved the decor and the service was great!

Great neighborhood in ipanema for bars and restaurants. Try this restaurant with Brazilian cuisine…read moreand pasta plates. Great prices and very authentic mix. Huge selection of wines mostly Argentinean/Chilean and European only two braiZilian wines on the. Lower price spectrum but good. We tried the picadilho de Rea. Minced sirloin and grains which was delicious. Also tried the ribs with a tangy BBQ sauce and guava dipping sauce. The petite gateau desert was the best molten chocolate ice cream we've had in a while. Great neighborhood to pre/post drink in area bars.

I ordered-- Entrée- green salad, which had tomato, carrot, hard bolded egg, corn and a tasty, light dressing. Main dish- grilled fish with herbs and butter with broccoli rice. Dessert- chocolate mousse with condensed milk on top. --everything was delicious and I was very satisfied. Here is the kicker, they have a wine cellar! In the back of the restaurant, there are over 2,000 labels with wines from every region. The wine advisor nudged us into ordering a half bottle of a French red wine. Usually fish doesn't go with red wine, but she was right, this paired just fine with my fish (I am not a fan of white wine). It was priced at R$36, but they gave it to us at a discounted rate of R$20. The patio upstairs was not open while I was there for lunch, but I have walked by in the evening and it always seems lively. The ambiance was great. Nice big windows and a good crowd. I definitely recommend this place.

Two of the meals were sent back, and took about 30 minutes to be fixed, by which time, the others were almost finished with their meals. Also, during our meal, we also witnessed a patron at the table next to ours also send her steak back. Clearly, they do not know what they're doing. Then, we got the bill and saw that they charged us R$35.80 for the few pieces of bread we had before the meal. Mind you, we had racked up a R$550 bill for wine and dinner, so to be charged for few pieces of bread is bull. I was so angry when I left. If you like paying a lot and getting little of anything good in return, go to Bazzar. Otherwise, spend your money elsewhere.

Before ordering our food, the sommelier came to our table to ask if we wanted to have any wine. I told him I was going to order a steak and if they had any cabs that were good. He comes back a minute later with sparkling wine... we were so confused. It was nowhere near what we wanted to drink, but we felt bad that he had gone through the trouble of going to get the sparkling. Anyway, we ordered the vegetable moqueca to share. This was amazing. The flavors were to die for. I kind of wish I had a bowl of that right now. When it came to our entrees we ordered the filet that came with brie risotto and some apricot jelly. This was great too. The filet was cooked perfectly and the risotto was delicious. We did not get any dessert since we were really full, but I would recommend it for a nice dinner. The atmosphere is really nice as well. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 were because of the issue with the wine and the fact that our waiter took forever to come take our order.

If you are a foreigner or tourist, I recommend you go to Gaja d'Oro instead…read more Much better food, better service, similar Portuguese high end menu and in a far superior location. Rancho Portuguese is directly across from a well lit gas station on a double lane highway. I used to come to Rancho Portuguese often. Been more than 10 times. But sadly one day I realized they prefer Brazilian clientele and hate serving foreigners or gringos. You experience these sort of ignorant Cariocas here and there when you spend a lot of time in Rio. So after waiting over an hour for food and watching my glass sit empty for 20 minutes while also observing him attentively serve every Brazilian, seeing their food arrive, etc....I asked to cancel my order. Instead of apologizing or even making an attempt to fix the problem, his cocky response was to smile broadly, give me a sarcastic thumbs up, insult me in Portuguese while thinking I don't understand him, and mockingly wave at me as I walked out of the restaurant. So now I go to Gaja D'Oro. It is in a beautiful building by the beach, offers much better service, a similar high end Portuguese menu, and I have never been offended to my face after being a loyal customer who spent more than 500 reals per person every time I went.
