My experience purchasing a car from Germain Lexus of Ann Arbor was profoundly disappointing. I reside in Indianapolis and communicated with Joseph Codrington about the Lexus NX 300 on a Monday. I had already decided on the car for my college-bound daughter, who was due home for the Christmas break that Saturday. Having been satisfied with our current Lexus vehicles, I had high expectations. Despite providing ample information about my needs and urgency, it felt as though my concerns were not taken seriously. Joseph was unavailable for the next three days, leaving me in the hands of multiple associates who seemed indifferent, possibly due to my remote location and gender. The process took an unnecessarily long four days to finalize, a duration I found excessive given my decisive intent. Despite my persistence, the dealership frequently communicated that they had other potential buyers interested in the same vehicle. This behavior felt manipulative and disrespectful, especially considering the time and effort I had invested. When we finally settled on a negotiated price with Derek, a sales manager, on Thursday night, I believed the ordeal was nearing its end. However, the General Manager, upon returning from his absence the next day, reneged on the agreed-upon price. This sudden change was frustrating, particularly since it was a minor reduction from the sticker price. Upon arriving at the dealership on Saturday, having provided all necessary documents and a check from our bank, we encountered further discrepancies. The invoice price inexplicably increased by $20, with no satisfactory explanation provided. It wasn't about the $20 it was more about the lack of communication of the "why" the entire transaction was disorganized and inefficient, disrupting our already busy schedules. As loyal Lexus customers, my husband and I expected better. The inconsistent pricing, sales tactics, and lack of professionalism were unacceptable. The car itself arrived in an unacceptable condition, with dirt and crumbs throughout. Despite this ordeal, we were met with incompetence even after the sale, as evidenced by their request for our Social Security numbers twice due to misplaced information. Given our experience, I would strongly advise potential buyers to seek alternatives to Germain Lexus of Ann Arbor. Their customer service is far below par, and their actions left us feeling undervalued and disrespected. If it were possible, I would rate this experience negatively. Please consider other dealerships for your Lexus needs. You will see below the filth of the car and how we purchased it. We had to have the car professionally detailed and new windshield wipers replaced once we were home. I quite literally could not make this stuff up. After reading others reviews I only wish I would have gone to Yelp to read up on Lexus of Ann Arbor because I would have never wasted my time. Buyer beware!

What a wonderful experience finding my favorite vehicle & dealing with a sales person like Aimee Kurutz! I felt so comfortable & at complete ease from our 1stHello!! No sales pitch. She was awesome from start 2 finish..The vehicle was pristine! I had tears picking up my truck at the dealership the nxt day from Happiness! "Aimee" even left a personal Special gift on my front seat! Never have I experienced this kind of thoughtfulness & gratefulness buying a car! Thank you!!!!

I got it home, only to find that the front brake rotors FAILED state safety inspection due to being under rotor thickness specification. The pads were worn to within a millimeter of the wear sensors as well. The dealership offered no assistance, even though the car supposedly went through a "multipoint" inspection. Afterward, they said they just did a start/drive/stop inspection and that they told me I was told this. Now the car was purchased as is, true, but it requiring a $2000 brake job right out of the gate was quite a shock. The car has been on jackstands (picture attached of my car of jack stands) in my garage since it failed inspection waiting on parts as a result. Dealer response: "not our problem." Noted, so here we are. Next up is car registration. As a member of the military, I wanted to register my car in South Dakota. All I need the dealership to do is sign a SD Form 1004 (out of state tax assessment) stating that I paid sales tax at the dealership (which I did), but they flat out refused to sign the form. This will end up costing me an additional $1800 in unnecessary taxes all because they will not sign a form attesting that I paid sales taxes directly to them. This has been the absolute worst car buying experience I have ever had, bar none. Other's local folk's (Michigan) experiences may have been great, but if you are buying out of state, I recommend going elsewhere unless you want zero support after the sale at all and a runaround with your paperwork. Silver lining is, I learned a lot about how NOT to treat people from my dealings with this dealership. Just a frustrating, costly and disappointing experience all around. :( ***I wanted to add: brakes are obviously a critical safety item and the fact that this fundamental issue was just so callously ignored and dismissed states volumes about how much yours and everyone else's safety means to this dealership. The more I think about my loved ones possibly being in an accident due to this negligence really upsets me. I was a service technician at BMW before I went to college and the military and this issue would have never passed out of our service department, at least back in the 1990's.

To their credit, the dealership did attempt multiple repairs and eventually provided a rental during one of the visits, but the process became extremely frustrating. Since purchasing the vehicle, I've had to make repeated trips back to the service department for the same unresolved issues. The Explorer sat for hours during one appointment without being looked at, I went several visits without any loaner assistance, and communication between departments often seemed disconnected. On top of the original leak issue, a leaking rear shock, rear main seal leak, oil plug leak, and a metal-on-metal noise were later discovered. Some staff members, including Lance and Shaun, were helpful and professional when addressing concerns, but overall the experience has been disappointing considering how soon these problems started after purchase. As of my latest visit, the metal hitting noise is still present despite multiple attempted fixes. I understand used vehicles can have issues, but I expected better inspection, communication, and follow-through from a large dealership.

Instead of fixing my sensor - the thing I paid them to do - they lied they aligned/calibrated it and did nothing else. Not to mention, when calling to ask about what they could do to change my opinion/review, I straight up told them that if they would fix the part that they should've (since I've already paid for it) but fix it for "free" (aka don't charge me again???) that I would be pleased and would be more than happy to delete the review. They claimed that they would call me back to see "what they could do" and yet I never heard from them again. It's been over a year and my car's crash sensor was never fixed nor acknowledged again. I have photo evidence of my original review. My original review was: "Very nasty and disrespectful towards women in the service department. Every time I asked a question I'd receive a condescending answer with a cocked head and scrunched face from frank. Very unprofessional. However, when he spoke to my dad or any male - it was with upmost respect." Furthermore they are overpriced and don't do what was asked - again they did NOT fix my sensor.

I told them that was not possible, as I had just been to Discount Tires (this Ann Arbor location) 6 months prior and had my receipt to prove it. Went back to Discount Tires to have them check, and they had not changed my tires. So in February, I had sat in their store for over 2 hours, paid over $1200, and NOT received any new tires. Then in August, when I went back and they put the correct tires on, I asked about some type of refund, since I had been driving on old tires for 6 months when I thought they were new, and if the oil change guy had not told me, I would not have known. They told me that that was not possible since it was over 30 days, even though it was over 30 days because I assumed I had new tires on. I could have popped a tire, been in an accident during winter, and they also just did not do their job. Terrible experience and will not be going back. Oh the story gets better. 24 hours later I left for a trip 1.5 hours away and my tire popped within 10 minutes of the drive. Horrible horrible experince, service, and quality. How does a brand new tire pop so fast. Probably because discount tire rushed the job that they were supposed to do months ago. I will never be recommending anyone to this location.
