Lextech is awesome. The service is great, the repairs are always on time and professional and the staff is truly great. Its like family when you walk in there. They told me, "Its been xxx amount of time since you were last in here." "Wow, your baby is getting so big" "Last time you were here, we did ..." I wish I had a better car so I would never have to see them again. But until I get my Lambo, I guess I'll keep having to go to Lextech. Sick and tired of fancy Lexus dealerships with service departments that will give you a latte while you wait for your car but will charge you a RIDICULOUS amount of money for the "luxury service?" After dealing with Santa Monica Lexus and Jim Falk for years, I knew there had to be a better way. Aldo, Michelle and the rest of the incredible team at Lextech have taken care of my 400h for the past 4 years. I even followed them to Highland Park from their old Sunset location, just to know my car was properly taken care of. Just today I took my car in for some terrible sounds that were occurring during acceleration. The problem? All that was needed was a piece of felt in the trunk. This shop is great. Arin the mechanic helped me with my car and did an awesome job. I just purchased a Lexus IS300. He did an insepction on the car for me and advised me on parts that need attention on my 150,000 mile car. Then he replaced all the fluids/oils on the car(engine, transmission, differential, brake, power steering). The service was amazing. I had called Lextech at 5:15p on a Monday (they close at 6p) and explained I was three blocks away with my brother needing an oil change. They gladly asked me to come in for immediate assistance. When we arrived we got greeted promptly and immediately started on the oil change. "MILK" was the associate who helped us out, checked and filled our tires, took care of the "Check Engine Light," and recommended a new gas cap because the seal on ours was broken. He power-washed and hand washed the car after our oil change as well. W O W! "MILK" was above and beyond the level of excellent customer service. read more

I've been taking my 1992 Lexus SC400 and 1991 MR2 here for a few years now and wouldn't think of going anywhere else to get them serviced. This goes back to their previous location on Sunset in Silver Lake and now to the new spot in Highland Park (and don't let the low number of reviews here fool you - Yelp starts reviews back at zero when businesses change locations, which is a shame... ). Anyhow, the owner Paul and entire staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and most of all, honest. I first went to them when I bought my Lexus used based on Yelp reviews at the old address and how close it was to me to have it checked out and Paul was on totally on point with that. Since then, for anything that's popped up- big or small- Paul and his team have been able to take care of it and always at a reasonable cost. Highly recommended! read more

Lextech has always been great with me and I only started going here a few months ago. Recently I went for an oil change and some other questions I had, they took the time to try to help me as much as they could so that I could get a tsb at the dealership, who does that?!? Always fairly priced and quickly done even with no appointment, the car wash after service is also a big plus. Great group of people here. read more

The check engine and trac off lights both came on in my wife's 1999 Lexus ES300. I needed a new mechanic so based on yelp reviews I decided to give them a try. Excellent service and reasonable prices. Paul explained the problem, ordered the part and I was out of there in under 2 hrs. He also gave me a list of additional things that needed to be addressed in order of priority. They also have a comfortable lounge, TV, wifi internet and bottled water. I had my Lexus RX 300 "fixed" at another shop. After spending more than $1,000 and coming back 4 - 5 times, the fix seemed to hold - until about 1 1/2 - 2 years later. I brought it to Paul. I just had a complete workup of my 7 yr old Toyota and it now runs like new. These guys are genious and extremely reasonable on price. The price was 1/3 of a Toytota dealer and yet the work seems like of at least as good of quality, plus they seem to have all the same tools and diagnostic computers the Toyota or Lexus dealers have. read more

Lextech is my car's new repair shop. It's conveniently located near the Sunset Junction so if I don't have a ride, I can walk down the street and entertain myself (I hate waiting). Though I did not have to wait for long. I used to take my car to the dealer and sometimes it would take hours. At Lextech, they took care of my car right away. And it was at least $200 cheaper than the dealer. Paul, the owner and Michelle, the office manager were so nice and thorough. They really went the extra mile. When I came back to get my car a short time later, they offered my three year old juice and a snack while I was finishing up the paperwork. As my husband was leaving, Paul noticed that his back window brake light was out, and he fixed it in about two minutes. When I used to take my car to the dealer, I always worried that they were ripping me off, but I completely trust Paul and his employees. I totally recommend Lextech and I don't even have a Lexus! read more

Paul is a great mechanic! He has been working with my family's 4Runners/Sequoias and does a great job at it! He explains what the problem is and how it could happen and what he does to fix it. He is very honest and straight forward, to the point and doesn't beat around the bush. His oil-change service is very fast, perfectly done and at a great price. Very good brake and tire service too. Whenever I bring my car in, he checks the tires for nails if any, checks for leaks and takes the car around the block to hear for any sounds or any tweaks in the car and to make sure its good to go. Happy with my oil and filter service and definitely will come back. They checked my car and made recommendations of what other things to do. Like front tire has a side wall damage. However, I told them that I will go to Costco for tires and they were OK with it. They even told me to call them if there are any concerns with their findings. Very friendly. read more

These guys are great. I have an '87 Toyota Landcruiser with starting problems. I was referred to Paul by another Yelp-loved repair shop, who said that they did not deal with the older Toyota's, but knew a great guy who would. Paul listened to my description of the problems, did not treat me like a "stupid woman", did not try to sell me on unnecessary work and of course got my vehicle up and running. She runs great now. Michelle in the office was also super helpful. I was given a good explanation of what they were planning, why they recommended that course of action and how much it would cost before they did anything. This shop is great! As a parent living in the San Francisco Bay Area, and having your daughter live in Los Angeles, it's important to have a good trust worthy shop that you can rely on when things go wrong. I had her Toyota Prius towed in there yesterday with a possible electronic problem. Lextech was able to quickly find the problem and she was on the road within a couple of hours. They were very professional and courteous. They gave her a ride home when the car was dropped off and they even washed the car when she went to pick it up! Great service and excellent pricing. My 2008 Prius kept stalling on the freeway. It needed a new battery and a new water pump. It turned out that the pump was covered under warranty, so rather than take my money Paul sent me to a dealer to get the pump fixed for FREE. He replaced my battery for half the price the dealer was going to charge. He also would have fixed the pump for a much lower price than the dealer. He also washed my car! I felt like he had my best interest at heart, like he was looking out for me rather than trying to make a buck. He also noticed my lights were out and replaced them at a much better rate than the dealer. I've taken my other car in a few times now and each time I got great service. read more

Where do I begin? I recently moved back to LA and was in search of a shop to fix my IS 250. The AC drain was blocked, therfore causing the water to soak in the carpet instead of dripping out the bottom of the car. I took it to Lexus Santa Monica and they were very impersonal and expensive. At Lextech, however, they were AMAZING! Customer service at its finest. They literally defy every stereotype of the "big bad mechanic" who's going to rip you off. They're kind, fair and to top it off, they wash your car! What?! I've never been excited to have to go spend money at an auto shop, but I can't wait until I need an oil change. read more

DON'T BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO LEXTECH!! This place is SHADY AND DISHONEST! Reviews must be from friends of the shop. They performed services on my car that were not needed. They ended up charging me for a service my car didn't need and then when I confronted them they tried to dance around the issue. The manager finally admitted that I didn't need the service. I'm reporting them to the better business burea and also considering taking other action against this shop. You're better off finding a reputable shop that actually does legitimate business. These people will just tell you anything to perform unnecessary services on your car and charge you for it. If you have money to throw away and don't mind being lied to, this is the shop for you. If you only want to spend money on things your car actually needs and don't want to have a shop lie to you so they can make money off you, DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO LEX TECH! I got a yelp account just to write a review on this place. This shop is great. Friendly staff and extremely knowledgeable. They offer water while you wait or juice box for the kids. I called for my 99 Camry because it had a low idle at start up. I had this same problem before so I asked for a quote on the throttle assembly ( which is what the previous shop told me it was when they temporarily fixed it months before), and Paul told me that the whole assembly usually never fails and that it would just be a valve connected to the assembly that was starting to fail. That is true honesty. He didn't try to up-sell me the whole assembly like the previous shop. I went to the Mc donalds around the corner to buy my daughter a something to eat and by the time i came back (30 minutes or so) my car was ready and.....it was washed. Amazing. This shop is all about customer service. My drive to the shop is like 30 mins but it is well worth it. I would rather take this drive once in a while for regular maintenance than drive to my local shop every month due to the local shop's poor work. I will definitely go back to have my rear brakes serviced as they are in need of it. I asked Paul if he saw anything else that might need servicing anytime soon and he gave me a few suggestions. The best part is that Paul offers OEM Toyota parts if you desire and doesn't just sell just cheap parts like other shops. Dealer parts, with better-than dealer service, and at a fraction of the dealer's price. I will continue to take my cars to Lextech for any future services needed to keep them running in tip top shape. read more

Paul, the owner, is my second favorite mechanic in Los Angeles. But it's a really really close second. Because he took over the location from Chris Ronnie of Ronnie's Auto Service, I almost could not believe that he managed to be just as great. I've been going for a year or so now, since they opened and I've found Paul to be just as personable, professional, hardworking reliable and honest as Chris is. My wife's car had a strange and troubling problem where the horn was honking at random times for no apparent reason. Paul patiently worked through the problem with us, trying everything, consulting with colleagues and urging us to delay an expensive and potentially unnecessary repair while we continued to try things. We finally managed to stop it without exactly knowing what caused it in the first place, and thanks to Paul it was entirely free. I don't think he charged us a penny for taking up what amounted to at least an hour or so of his time and his and his men's labor spread out over a few different days. And that's not the only time he's treated me this way. If Paul can quickly diagnose and fix whatever's up with your car without needing to take it apart or switch out parts, he'll likely do it fast and free while you wait. Because that's the kind of guy he is. He loves working on cars. And he seems sincerely to love interacting with customers. read more
