I chose Detroit Processing upon recommendation of my "cattle guy". In case you don't have a "cattle…read moreguy", this review is for you. We raised our second steer this year and Detroit Processing was there with us from the beginning. We got on their schedule many months in advance to ensure we had a spot. When the time came, they were ready without any problems. Unloading at their site was much easier than where we processed our previous steer and the helpers were actually very helpful. Rhonda helped us immensely with the cut sheet and offered options that I had never considered (did someone say "summer sausage"? YUM!) The cuts and vacuum packaging far exceed our previous experience and everything was neatly organized in what they call a "truck". (It's a large rolling shelf unit that held all our beef) They really took care of us and smoked the brisket, formed 1/2 lb hamburger patties, and even sliced the liver. That saved us so much trouble. When it comes time for the next steer - there's no need to consult my "cattle guy" because Detroit Processing is the place we will use.

Came here to see if they sold steaks and they sure do. Some of the best steaks we've ever had…read moreactually and they were on sale. Left with two 1 3/4 inch ribeyes and they were awesome. They also have a very interesting array of other things like soaps, candies, real maple syrup and assorted steak rubs. Hands down one the best places I've encountered of it's sort. It's about a half block from the Detroit Post Office, you should definitely check it out. The staff is very courteous and answered all of our questions Fast forward approximately 8 months and this place is hands down the best place to buy any type of meat. We go once a week usually for steaks and always leave with a few packages of Andouille sausages, chicken drumsticks ( cheaper here than I've ever seen anywhere), Late July brand tortilla chips which truly are Mexican restaurant style, Johnson Honey farm honey (cinnamon and strawberry creamed),and farm fresh eggs. They have delicious candy, always have a butcher on hand to cut your steaks and the owner and employees are super nice and happy to answer questions. If all businesses were operated like this there would be no reason for Yelp.

I saw a video on Tik Tok by a well known hair salon owner in Dallas recommending him - LEGIT! Our hand-selected menu: - Prime Grade 16 oz Ribeye - American Wagyu 20 oz - Caesar salad (requested no anchovies but he usually adds them) - Brussels and crispy pork belly - Mushroom risotto - Smoked Gouda Mac and cheese - Herbed fresh green beans - Chocolate whiskey cake He will take custom food orders as well (even fresh seafood!). I cannot explain how EVERY bite of every item had incredible flavor. Delicious is an understatement. Chef Phil cooked, cleaned (counter/stove tops, took out the trash, loaded and started dishwasher), and provided nice to-go containers for leftovers. He did everything within 2 hours of arrival for two of us. The leftovers the next day were just as flavorful as freshly served! Reserve your date WELL in advance as his schedule stays full. Is it affordable? YES! I paid Chef Phil the same amount as going to a 5 star steak restaurant in Tulsa or Dallas and that included his time/travel (he should charge more!). The food was 5 star quality as well; actually, better! Besides being an amazing cook, Chef Phil is a kind, personable guy. It was a pleasure having him in our cabin, and we will use him on all future cabin trips!

Meat grilled up very pretty and was super tender. You can pickup everything you need for a complete meal and go back to your cabin and half a great steak for half the price of any restaurant. Great service.

Cooked them medium rare, and they were a bit tough, had gristle, and the flavor was about what I would expect at Tom Thumb or Kroger. Pretty disappointed and just feel like everything is way overpriced. I could be wrong, but I expect the freshest meat possible when I go to a butcher. If the steaks had been amazing, I wouldn't have cared about the price. In the past, I have purchased a prime rib, which was good but not great. The best thing I have purchased are their pork chops. Those were excellent, and the only reason this is getting three stars.

My husband had found a couple of options in Plano, and we were actually on our way there when I decided to do a quick search. That's when I found Deep Cuts based on the amazing reviews--and we were pleasantly surprised by how close it was. As soon as you walk in, the shop is immaculately clean with a really cool look to it, and they were even playing great house music, which added to the vibe. Raul helped us and he was incredibly knowledgeable about all the cuts of meat. We were looking for certain cuts, and he walked us through everything with so much expertise. We ended up getting the tri-tip, the picanha, and the marinated skirt steak to try based on the reviews. We're definitely coming back for the pork belly, and we want to try their Italian beef sandwiches during the week too. Raul mentioned we can always call ahead to make sure they have the cuts we want, which is super helpful. We were genuinely impressed with this butcher shop. Everyone working there was friendly and welcoming from start to finish. I haven't seen a butcher shop like this since I lived in Chicago. This is officially our new go-to butcher. Five stars all the way.
