What the hell is wrong with you people? My mom was dealing with issues with her new fridge she got from this store. The fridge was condemned, and she needed a new one delivered under warranty. Something happened between Lew White and Frigidaire and Frigidaire ended up doing the delivery. While Frigidaire was there, the owner of Lew White's son, Harper, called my mom on the phone and started SCREAMING at her. She had no idea what was going on as she did not facilitate the delivery. It was so bad that the delivery guys from Frigidaire ended up calling their supervisor concerned with how loud he was screaming at my mother. She called Lew White, they said take the delivery, so she did. Then he called her and proceeded to scream at her for several minutes. Absolutely DISGUSTING. This is the VP of your company? You should be ashamed of yourselves talking to a woman like that. Harper, you're a little boy, not a man. Stop yelling at women. read more

I had a confrontational experience at Lew White Appliances in Brookfield CT. I was not wearing a mask when I entered the store and a salesmen shouted from about 20' away "can I help you?". I say " yes we . . ." and he cuts me off saying "you have to stand by the door", to which I respond "I will keep my distance". "No, you can't be breathing on other people." "I can't wear a mask." "Then you have to wait outside." Changed from waiting by the door to waiting outside. I asked "Why? Is that your business's policy?" He responded with "We don't want to sell you anything!" That is fine, I will not be buying anything from Lew White again. This is not because they have a mask requirement, but for the aggressive and derogatory treatment of a potential customer, a repeat customer. read more

Great at selling you a product, not so good at service. My wife and I went to Lew White figuring we would get better all round service from a local old fashioned appliance store, the kind of place you could go back to if you ever had a problem with your purchase. This was not our experience. The sales man didn't want to help us when our fridge died less then a year after being purchased, he told us to do the leg work and go directly to the manufacturer, not having all the info we needed we asked for more help from him and he begrudgingly agreed to do his job but not without a fair amount of attitude and making us feel badly. It took several calls to have him follow up with us and give us a status on when we could expect service. We turn to places like Lew White to avoid the big box stores and the perceived hassles that might ensue if something breaks down and we need help. But after paying an extra premium price for these perceived benefits and not seeing the fruits come to bear when needed, I might as well deal with the big box stores, they are cheaper and as fast. In the future I won't go back to these guys, I'll go to Home Depot or one of the other giants and while service might be a hassle, it will be cheaper. Sad that this was our experience, I'm beginning to understand why the small appliance shop guys are going the way of the dinosaur. If you can't offer up something more for your customer but higher prices and the misleading perception of personal service extinction is in your future. Take this review to heart, make changes in your policies that distinguish you from those big box stores, treat your customers like they matter AFTER the sale! read more

First and last time we ever buy anything from Lew White Appliances. Purchased a $2500 GE Profile Refrigerator that came damaged (door was dented). Called store immediately and they said they would replace the door. It is now over a month later, 4 appointments canceled and every excuse in the book why the door has not been changed. Since we did our homework on price, they went above and beyond to beat the prices we obtained. The delivery people were polite and did a nice job of installing the appliances. If you want to be absolutely OVER CHARGED by 1000% for parts .. I paid $23 bucks there for a standard, not necessary to order $2.00 part online, at Walmart, at Lowes, etc. We only bought the part there as my elderly Dad normally buys from them for years. We should have done a bit more research before purchase as we feel totally ripped off. We actually said to the guy at purchase that the video online on YouTube touts that washer part should'nt cost more then $2 bucks, but I thought maybe it didn't apply to our part. And they also give surly service to boot by an un-motivated, sad sales man. We will never shop there again .. read more

I have purchased appliances from the Monroe, CT location on two occasions over the last 6 months and have been very pleased; I have dealt with Tom White both times. The transactions have been smooth and the pricing is better than the big box stores. While I certainly do my fair share of shopping at the big box stores, I like supporting a smaller business when I can. For me it has been all wins at Lew White, as stated their prices are excellent and you get to enjoy personalized service. read more

I called for service for my washer, and was told that they don't service GE appliances. However, they did call GE for a service call. The service man came out the next day, and quickly fixed the cause with a minimum of expense. We were very grateful. read more
