This was the first time I have used this appliance service & I could not be happier! "Others" had suggested the motor bearings might be shot in my 2018 Broan range vent hood. Jeff diagnosed the loose nut on fan blade/shaft assembly in 20 seconds. He tightened, checked/listened to all & went outside to be sure air was flowing out of the exhaust vent. I found Jeff to be very capable and efficient. I had a dishwasher that was supposed to be installed by Home Depot. When they showed up they said I needed an extended run (the d/w was a few feet away from the sink) and I was missing an extension part and needed to get a plumber. I had told them this when I placed the order but somehow it came as a surprise to them. Jeff showed up, did the job, no problem, at a fair price. Most of the negative reviews here involve having to pay to get an opinion, and sometimes the opinion is "this isn't worth fixing." No one is going to drive to your home, spend their time diagnosing the problem, and give you their expert advice for free. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. They scheduled my service appointment for a 4-7 pm window, yet the technician arrived in the final half hour without a courtesy call or any notice that he was on his way. I happened to miss his call and within five minutes, he is gone. I called his number back twice with no answer before he finally picked up, only to tell me that he was already home with his shoes off. When I questioned how that was possible, he casually mentioned that he lives right in town. I asked why he did not call ahead, and his response is "we don't do that but I did call from the back door when I got there" He did offer to come back again, but why would I make someone do that when technically my window was until 7 pm ? A simple heads up call could have avoided the situation entirely. Instead, I waited two hours for service, only to be left with a broken stove while he is enjoying his dinner. I could even hear dishes clanking in the background. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I guess common courtesy is out the window for some !! read more

We needed our dishwasher repaired, and Jeff was phenomenal - not only did he arrive on time and get the work done quickly and efficiently, he implemented a fix or two that will help prevent the issue from coming back, and explained what to do if the issue does return. I don't understand the people who are bellyaching about having to pay a diagnostic fee, do they think that someone who specializes in appliance repair should be doing a large portion of their work for free? 5 stars from me, and would work with again in a heartbeat. read more

Lane Appliance service just repaired my refrigerator - no drama. Jeff is a skilled craftsman. I would not use anyone else for appliance repair. After 90 minutes, our refrigerator was back in action, and the charge was $180, including parts. Considering the work, parts, and time, Jeff's bill was more than reasonable. $110 to tell me after being here for 12 minutes that the compressor in the refrigerator is broken. Repair estimated at $600. What bothers me is the no incentive aspect. You eat the assessment for a repair that is prohibitively priced. I just paid $80 for an actual repair on something last week. When my sub-zero refrigerator decided to sh*t the bed I called lane appliance repair. They are pretty much the only game in town when you're stuck having to fix a wolf or sub-zero appliance. I had absolutely no problems getting in contact with them, and they showed up within the allotted time slot they gave me. They only accept cash or check, but if you pay cash they will give you a convenience discount. The guy who showed up to repair my beast was a nice clean cut dude and answered all my appliance questions. He had to basically change every mechanical part of my sub-zero since it's an older model. And although the bill was very high at $1300+ I had no problem paying it since a new fridge is 10k. read more

I used Lane Appliance several times. The technician has a bit of an attitude but since the service was acceptable I used them more than once. The last time I used them unfortunately was a problem which they chose to turn into a larger problem. They repaired a freezer in a rental unit that I own and to perform the service, they had to turn-off the freezer and remove all of the food contained in it. I accompanied the technician and waited while he performed the repair since the tenants were not at home. The repair took roughly 45 minutes and the food was out of the freezer the entire time. I should also add that part of his work involved using a heat gun to warm part of the freezer compartment. When he was done, he returned the food the the freezer, I paid him, and he went on his way. Unfortunately, I got a call from the tenant the following morning to inform me that all of their food in the freezer had thawed. The technician didn't turn the freezer back on when he was done and the tenant didn't go into the freezer. I can forgive anyone who makes a mistake. That wasn't the problem. The problem was their attitude when I called them about the error. The woman on the phone who was the wife of the owner, wasn't what I would describe as warm and friendly when I told about the problem and the fact that I needed to reimburse the tenants for their spoiled food. She said she would speak to the technician and call me back. I never received a return call, so after a couple of days I called back. She was very short with me and told me it was impossible for the food to thaw in that period of time, despite the fact that the food was out of the freezer for 45 minutes and put back into a warm freezer unit. I was stunned by her attitude. The tenants inventoried the food and it was only about $45.00 of food. So for $45.00, and a terrible attitude, they lost a customer. read more

I had Lane Appliance come out and fix my washer and dryer my dryer was fixed the washer we had to order apart I paid for it and pre-paid for them to come back out to fix it. Two different occasions I paid someone to stay at my house for them to come out to fix it both times they never showed up since then it is been at least four weeks and I have not been able to get them to come out even drop the part off on my porch at my request so I could fix it myself. Crazy prices. My fridge broke and they came out to look at it. Charged me 110 for the visit and did not use any equipment​ to test the unit before telling me I needed 1100 dollars to fix my fridge. When I asked how much for just the labor he said 700. I asked him how he knew the fridge needed all these parts and he said "I eyeballed it' "Trust me I've been doing this for years" What overcharging​ people? I got another LG approved repairman in and he tested the fridge with equipment​​, and replaced the compressor​ for 425. This part was covered under my warranty with LG as the fridge was under 10 years old. Lane Appliance never bothered to tell me that and was prepared to charge me for a new compressor. I used Lane to repair my washing machine recently, and this was a huge mistake. When I made the initial appointment they provided me a three hour service window. The technician showed up an hour late, and recommended that I needed a new pump. I paid him a deposit, and scheduled another appointment for the pump to be installed (it needed to be ordered). Another 3 hour appointment window, and then the technician was an hour and half late. I wish that was the only issue, but after putting the new pump into the washing machine, it doesn't look like he tested it, because when the machine was used today, I had water all over the place, a minor flood. I wasn't having leaking problems prior to today. When I called the office to inform them of the flood in my house and that I needed the machine repaired, again, trying to be as calm as possible, the woman who answered the phone said they could come out monday between 4 and 7pm. I asked if they would actually be within the service window this time, as they were significantly out of the window the last two times, and she got upset with me and said she couldn't control the window. No admittedly, the patience I was trying to keep starting to slip. I said you set the window at which point she said she should give 5 hour windows, and that I should call back when I am not so upset. Now that clearly made me upset, and I asked why I should call back, when they caused the problem that I was trying to schedule the repair for. At that point she hung up on me. When I called back, she hung up again - twice. I am very well versed in business, as I hold an executive level position with a company. If any of my employees responded to a customer the way this woman did they would be out of a job. What happened to customer service?? I would not recommend this company to anyone!!! I called the office to inquire about a missed appointment . When I made the appointment, I gave my cell number and asked for a call approx. 10 minutes prior to arrival. I never received a call. I was told by the office manager that they had, in fact, been there and that they had called prior to arriving. I asked what number they had called and was told that she did not have that "in front of me." Rather than apologizing, she told me that they were very upset about it. I replied that I was upset as well and that I would make other arrangements. She said "Fine" and we both hung up. We run a service business ourselves and I can tell you that we do not speak to our clients that way. Absent the attitude I received on my call today, I would have been perfectly happy to reschedule. If this was the first time I felt mistreated calling their office, I would also likely have rescheduled. PS Received a call back from her about 10 minutes later on my cell. She told me that it was Lane Appliance and that, while she knew we were not going to be doing business anymore, she wanted me to know "where the problem was." Very nice ... wonderful! When I started speaking, she hung up on me. One of the problems I had them coming to look at was an ice-maker they replaced in a sub-zero freezer just a few months ago. It stopped working. While it may be defective, I would rather eat the cost of a new ice-maker than deal with them again. If you google them, there are many similar people who had similar or worse experiences with this company. I did not come across a good review. My review is fair. They do good work generally. They are just very hard to work with and, if there is a problem, their view is it's your problem. read more

She's very cranky & a complete turn off, not helpful and really should NOT be the first person people talk to bc she's such a grump, if you ask me. I hope to help others avoid the awful treatment that I received at the hands of this company. I simply called to check on when a part would be expected in and the woman on the phone, who is also the owner, told me she would call when it came in and refused to give me a possible time of arrival. This company never calls to inform you of where progress is on your service and when I politely told her this was unacceptable and bad business this woman hung up the phone on me and refused to pick it up when I called back. If you research reviews on consumer reports and other review sights you will find other complaints that directly mirror my own. Save yourself some misery and very poor service and pick another company to invest your time and money in. read more
