I had fa rustrating experience with another company who failed to solve my fridge's multiple problems. (not cooling, light not working, freezer frosting like crazy). I found L & J Appliance--and what a difference. Kyle and his father Lawrence spent the time to properly diagnose a complex issue that had been completely missed. They made a custom repair and fixed the problem for good. Affordable pricing too. They are professional, thoughtful, and clearly care about doing the job right. It's rare to find service like this. A few months later our combo microwave/oven had shut off unexpectedly, and we felt confident calling them again for this since we purchased all of our appliances from the store, and they recommended them. They came out a few times between the week of Thanksgiving in November-December 2025. First it was an electrical board issue- which they rerouted so we can use the oven. We were told they needed to order a part, and they'd call us to schedule once they received the part. The part came in, but it was wrong and the job couldn't be completed. They needed to order a new part. That was in Feb/March... again they came out in April, and still couldn't complete the job because the part was not right. Well now it's almost July, we still don't have a working microwave. No calls. No communication. Kyle, the repair tech was professional, and timely. No complaints on the guys who came to do the work. The company is not charging us for the extra repairs, so of course this has fallen on deaf ears and we have not heard from them in months. We have had to purchase another microwave and put it on our kitchen island because it's been 7-8 months without resolution.

Dryer vent cleaning: something you would not even think to do until there's an issue. I had my…read moredryer vent cleaned more than 5 years ago, because my condo association required it at that time. I remembered that it was an owner operated company with inexpensive rates and I had no complaints what so ever Since then, I always thought I should schedule another cleaning, but again, not something that is never a priority. Until, of course, I put a load of wet clothes in my dryer and everything was still cold and damp after an hour. Not knowing what the problem was, I first called an appliance repair guy to check things out. He had to replace the thermal fuse that had blown, which was caused by the lint buildup in my dryer vent. He told me to get the dryer vent cleaned ASAP as to not cause any further damage to my dryer. I racked my brain trying to remember the name of the dryer vent company I had used previously. Every listing on yelp was for large companies with not so great reviews and questionable "deals" on their websites. I distinctly remembered how pleased I was with the place from years ago, the owner himself and the job he did. I did a bit of searching and found a listing online that sounded familiar. I left a message and Tom called me back a few hours later. After talking for a few minutes, I quickly realized it was the same guy from 5+ years ago, score! He even remembered my condo complex and having done several jobs here over the years. Better yet, he quoted me the same price I paid all those years ago. Wow. His brother works for him and was the one who came out this time, on a Saturday, and only 2 days after my initial call. He took his shoes off upon entering my place (without being asked to), was quiet, very clean and efficient. He let me know what he was doing as he went along and completed the job in about an hour. I created the business listing on here just so I could write this review. Highly recommend!
