I've shopped at branches of this store in the U.S. and I've been to the one at Tsawwassen Mills,…read morebut I think this might have been my first time stepping into this particular location. I don't always manage to purchase anything while shopping at this store, but on this occasion I did manage to buy something. I found some beautiful DKNY boots for $54.99! My daughter and I had been looking at a number of stylish boots in the last few days. We'd seen some by brands I'd never even heard of, that weren't nearly as stylish, unique or well constructed selling for 3 - 4 times the price of these boots. I found these boots to be quite unique in their design. They weren't at all flimsy either; rather, they felt very sturdy and well constructed. DKNY brand to top it off. For $54.99, this was an absolute bargain and I couldn't pass it up. The store was clean and spacious. Somewhat like shopping at Nordstrom Rack (selection is a bit more high end) in that you really have to hunt for the deals...but I think these boots are proof positive that if you search thoroughly enough, there are deals to be found! Service: Good Parking: Plentiful and free Location: North side of Park Royal Shopping Centre, West Vancouver

Reading all the reviews of this store, I honestly was a bit surprised. I was blown away by this…read moreplace! Here's why: -it's big. Okay, so relatively speaking, it might not be AS big as other Saks OFF 5th venues (especially in the States), but it's still pretty damn big! -it's immaculate, and well laid-out, with excellent signage (signs suspended from the ceiling, so it's easy to see). At a glance, you can see where the mens' section is, the women's section, the activewear, the footwear, etc. Nice! -there are some amazing deals to be found here, if you look, and probably a TON more if you come here regularly (I am certain they get new merchandise frequently, similar to their other sites). I found a classic pair of black Doc Marten kick-a** boots for $39.99. $39.99!!!! Unfortunately, they only had 'em in women's size 8 or 9, and I'd need a size 7. Oh, that hurt so much, as I wanted them SO bad. But that's the nature of discount shopping at these types of stores: the thrill is in the hunt and the find! But, yeah, those of you who know how much Doc Martens' usually sell for, you know what a steal that would've been. -depending when you go, of course, it's hit or miss what you'll find here. But again, if you go regularly, you'll eventually find something amazing. They carry a lot of big brand and designer names here, and they've a decent selection of accessories, too (socks, hats, costume jewelry - note: I wasn't really impressed with he jewelry here but I'm sure it changes, too - belts, etc.). -I had never been to Park Royal before and I was mighty impressed with the huge, free parking lots surrounding all the stores. Wow. -the lady who was manning the dressing rooms was super nice, and the rooms themselves were large, with a chair, ample wall hooks, and a huge mirror. And I liked the way the thick, velveteen curtain-door hooked and locked shut. It felt plush and high end. (I should note, the guys working the check-out cashiers were super nice, too). The sole reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I wanted to try on a pair of cool designer sneaker-shoes in the footwear department but the pair was secured together (odd, because all the other pairs of shoes and boots I tried on were not locked together and many cost more than these sneakers). There was an employee in the aisle, stocking and tidying up all the shoes, so I asked her if she could please separate these sneakers so I could try them on. She said I'd have to go to the changing room lady who has the tool to unsecure the shoes. I found this so odd, making customers walk across the length of the store to bother the lady working the dressing rooms, when they logically could have the employee working in the shoe department have the required tool. (There were some elderly ladies in the store when I was there. No way would they easily be able to walk back and forth to get this done, to try on shoes. It just made no sense!), So, yeah, they potentially lost a sale there, as I wasn't going to be bothered.

Firstly, it's not strictly a dollar store, there are many items that cost more, most seem to be in the $1 - $5 range and this opens the store up to have much more variety in terms of products. By way of history, Lily only came to Marine Drive in West Van less than four years ago but had a previous life on Lonsdale in North Van for 15 years before that. Lily was forced to move due to the ongoing construction taking place on Lonsdale. She has embraced West Van, altho her business has still not caught up to what she enjoyed on Lonsdale (before the construction began). A long and narrow storefront, Dollar Plus offers a really wide range of stuff for almost all wants and needs. There are tons of arts and crafts supplies, school supplies and greeting cards. Lots of housewares and even candies and pop. Take a look at my pics to get a better idea of just some of the products Lily offers West Van. Her sign says, "one-stop shopping" and she's not far off with all that she sells. But any dollar store sells a lot of what Lily sells, the big difference here is Lily and her staff. Don't be fooled by her somewhat limited English language knowledge, she knows just what you're saying and more than likely what you want (and she probably sells it too). And even more than that, Lily has a great attitude about her work, when people love what they do, you can tell, and in her case, she's infected the rest of her staff with the same buoyant spirit. Located in the middle of downtown(?) West Van, Lily's is a must-see for bargain hunters and casual shoppers looking for a deal on those things they didn't know they needed.

The first time I bought their short tennis style skirt was back in 2023. I ordered another one online in white, and when it arrived I took it in store to get a different size, even though the size I ordered was my size and the black I already had was that same size...strange. I wore the black one I have had for two years and is a size 10 into the store to exchange the new one that had arrived. I asked service why the one that was shipped was so tight as it is my size and the same I'm currently wearing....they didn't know and suggested that since their products were manufactured in different countries they are not always aligned in terms of style and size....wow..really?? He suggested that he grab me one from the store and compare. Brought over my size but it was not nearly the same quality or look. It had strange lines in the fabric. The manager came over and was puzzled why two identical products look so different. One was manufactured in Vietnam and the other in Thailand. So, really depending on which country ships your product is which quality you'll be getting. I felt generous and decided to give them one more chance. I ordered a size up online with the clerk. Today it arrived and it was a disaster (see pic.) Extremely poor quality, strange flawed lines in the fabric randomly inconsistent, and it comes packaged heavily wrinkled, which is a bit of a problem, because you can't iron this product. I went back to the store for the second time and returned it. Even their in-store products upon touch you can feel it just isn't the same premium quality anymore. Thinner, cheaper, rougher material. Quite a few times I've seen in store products that are dirty or stained. Nothing like picking up a shirt or tank top with someone's deodorant stain to gross you out. Attention to detail and floor management needs serious attention. The staff are friendly but in my book dirty merchandise on hangers trumps staff smiles to drive me away. So, really they are now selling you lesser quality but still for the same premium price. I mean just the fact that they put their name on products that are manufactured in random places that there's no guarantee of consistency and quality representing the brand....just blows my mind. I think my local dollar store has more of a compass when it comes to product management. Writing this actually makes me a little sad, because I remember what Lululemon used to be like. Consistent, un-compromised high quality athletic wear. Ever since Chip Wilson left the quality went to Hell. 11 years I have been a Lululemon customer. Their non-existent quality control measures, inconsistency and poor manufacturing cost them my decade of business today.

The sidewalks aren't clearly marked either, so pedestrians also spill over into the streets. It's better to take a ferry or water taxi to avoid the headaches.

Traffic was also horrible trying to go and leave - sounds like others parked across the bridge and walked or took a ferry. We went on a Saturday mid afternoon and parking was ok because some people were leaving. A good selection of shops, including the public market and various shops. It was crowded, but service was good and friendly. We had a big meal beforehand, but it seems like a nice place to brunch by the waters and enjoy the views or have a snack - long line for the donut shop!
