Have you ever seen one of those interior design shows where they cover plywood with fabric and call it modern? Well that's pretty much the interior of this place, but with low lighting it still looks kind of slick.. Just don't get to close to the metal ottoman or it will cut your leg. No I am serious heed my warning. The booths have this square silver death traps (the ottoman) in front of them to sit your drinks on. Aside from the décor I can't fault it for making a good $10 drink, tried the mojito and iced baileys, waitress well she came over to top us up every 20-30 minutes if we yelled for her. Okay there are a few pros: Weeknights its dead, the music isn't too loud and you can be left alone if you want to grab a corner seat with friends and enjoy a mix drink. Personally I don't know if it's trendy enough to take me back. They will stop you and give you a talking to on a week night if you are wearing sneakers or jeans. I really really really want to like Level 2 and I think I might be getting there. The first time I went, I stayed only a few minutes because it was too crowded and we didn't get seating. But went there for a Happy Hour one Friday and loved it because it wasn't too crowded and they brought appetizers to our table .... hmmm ... am I that easily bought by food? You betcha!!! HAHA! Plus you get a few bucks off the drinks during happy hours. I went again during prime Friday hours and the organizer was smart enough to reserve VIP space. Normally, I hate bottle service because I am horrible at mixing my own drinks. But compared to Manhattan, this bottle service was quite reasonable and necessary to gain entrance to the VIP area, which was pretty spacious and served as a very adequate dance area later in the evening. Think raucous party in someone's huge living room without clean up afterwards. I know there were a few criticisms about dress code from other reviewers but I have to admit, I look forward to going to a place where I actually have to think about what I want to wear. Being an ex-Manhattanite, I have a lot of 'club' wear that just hasn't made it off the hanger since being here. But yes, I definitely know how annoying it can be to have to actually conform to a dress code. I think that Level 21 is unique for the area and gaining favor points each time I return. read more

This bar.. This bar supposed to be elite night club of downtown Harrisburg. The elite nightclub of downtown Harrisburg! Once again elite nightclub! I'm laughing because Harrisburg is not upscale by any stretch of the imagination! Level two really tries to keep morale as having ropes to walk through and downstairs at the door. The bouncers can be a little intimidating especially the one who is lovingly referred to as as "Gigantic" (he is a whopping 6'8 and sexy as hell.. But I digress) Level two is the only night club that has a dress code. It's kind of refreshing to go there.. It's a fun upbeat place with go-go dancers! The drinks are more expensive so it's a great place to end the night! They have the cleanest bathrooms in downtown Harrisburg so it's a great place to go if you're running into use the bathroom (my ultimate downtown tip). Another pretty cool feature is that they have an inside smoking room, which is great if you don't want to freeze your butt off as your friend smoke (like in my case). It's kind of the last place to get "poppin" of the night, around 1130-12" if you're trying to find the perfect time to go ass about answers and I'll be honest with you! But Extrem warning: if you are a woman prepared to get hit on by older men!! Men in their 50s + Honestly this is the best place to be on years eve it's also the most expensive. Bitter Sweet! Came here for a bachelorette party. We arrived at 9:30pm and the place was deserted, so we joked that we rented it out. Crowd started to pick up around 10:30/11pm. Drinks were good--the bar tenders don't short ya on the liquor they put in. They also were really good about getting us water when we asked for it and not forgetting/ignoring like happens and some other clubs. The place was clean and beautiful, and it felt like a safe place where women can have fun without worry of unwanted sexual harassment. We loved the waterfall fixtures and lighting by the seats. Music was okay... though the DJ had a real dependency on using alarm SFX. It became a joke by the end of the night. We loved the staff. The bartenders were awesome when we arrived. The bouncer and front desk attendant were very nice. Our favorite was David, the security guy, who was kind enough to fix one of our girls' broken shoe and also pulled an intoxicated guy out of our dance circle. Overall, we had a fun time and decided the lower key scene was more our speed than the club across the street that had a police K-9 unit parked in front of it. read more

We randomly found this place while bars-hopping in downtown. It is literally on level 2 of the building. We stayed here the longest out of all bars. The drinks were great and decently priced. The place also has a dance floor which could be fun after a few drinks. The DJ was excellent by playing lots of great songs. I'd definitely come here again when I'm in town. read more

Decent music for the 20s crowd, the wannabe cast of Jersey Shore was there (if you are down with that), good staff, too many bouncers out front --indicative of a bar that is trying too hard. Level 2 was the hot spot a year ago when it first opened; now it is just becoming old news. They tried to put a NYC club in the heart of Pennsylvania and it just doesn't fit the demographics here. The staff is friendly. The vibe is pretentious. Drinks are overpriced. Decor is modern. Music ranges from hip-hop to dance. The mix of ages range from hip young twenty somethings to late forties men looking for young hipsters. If you are willing to pay for overpriced drinks and can deal with older men checking you out, then check this place out. Got to enjoy this place for a private event for a going away party for a friend and fellow yelper! We got a great deal on a 2 hr window and appetizers that were provided. The bartenders were very accommodating and was willing to make specialty drinks for us during the 2 hrs we were there. You are able to purchase food from Café Fresco while you're here. Came here for the first time for the free Duke Dumont show. When we got there, they held the line outside for about 10 mins, even though doors were open which kinda sucked because it was cold out. Then we went inside and there was hardly anyone in there! I guess they wanted to give the illusion of exclusivity. Level 2 was larger than I thought it would be, based on how it looks from the outside. It's L-shaped with plenty of room to move around, even when it started to get packed. The club has several seating areas available for reservation/bottle service & they roped the front of the club off for VIP. Drink prices weren't terrible. $4 for a Bud Light, $8 for a Red Bull & vodka. Despite the club being pretty crowded later in the night, my husband was able to get our drinks pretty quickly. The bathroom was clean and continued to have toilet paper restocked throughout the night. Thankfully, there was no bathroom attendant. The music was pretty good the night I went, however special DJ's were there for the event. There was no dress code the night I went to Level 2, but there usually is, which isn't a bad idea. It's fun to get dressed up to go out from time to time. $2 for coat check ain't bad and there was no smoking...yay! I'd like to go back and check out Level 2 on a normal Friday or Saturday night. read more

Wow, so much hate with the dress code. All I can say is, are you serious? While Level 2 wasn't "all I expected and more," I have to say that it's refreshing and much needed to have somewhere with a dress code downtown. While I was back in PA the other week, I noticed a lot of things have changed. The higher drink prices that used to keep the riff-raff out of Privado are no longer working, the crime in Harrisburg is going up, and too many people think that flip-flops, jeans, and a tank top make a nice little going out outfit. That being said, maybe Level 2 is a little pretentious, but so is Cafe Fresco. Maybe you forgot to wear dress shoes instead of sneakers, but SHAME ON YOU for wearing sneakers to go out in the first place. People in Harrisburg seem to want all the fun of the big cities without the pace, and I'm sorry, but that can't happen. You can't have a pretty, classy spot and then show up in shorts and flip flops. Oh yeah, and don't try dancing on the tables in the smoking room - apparently they frown upon that. read more

Came here for the first time on "Latina night" on a Friday and got there super early and paid $200 for 2 tables and got kicked out within an hour. Some Group members were too much but most of the party didn't deserve to be put out and instead of dealing with conflict, they took the easy way out. As a bartender in the scene of downtown Harrisburg, it could have been handled MUCH better. Definitely won't be back if I have to pay for a table and still include the "entrance fee" to a half filled bar of $10 per person after securing 2 tables to a half filled club. Never coming back. We went to Level 2 for NYE, when we got to the desk the woman, the owners wife, told us the cover was 25 dollars and that it included hors d'oeuvres and a champagne toast at midnight. We arrived around 10 pm and by midnight we had not seen a single appetizer and then 20 minutes after midnight we had not seen a single glass of champagne handed to anyone in our immediate group or around us. The first time I went to the desk and asked about it, I was told they were going around. Again, didn't see a single item of food or any champagne anywhere. I then went to the front desk again and asked for the manager. He, who was actually the owner of the establishment, was extremely confrontational and rude, told us that it's not his problem if they ran out of things. When I said I don't think it's fair we paid so much for things we didn't even see, he again said it wasn't his problem and that he can't adjust the price for people. Instead of offering us our money back or apologizing, he just continued to argue with me about how it wasn't his problem when it clearly was. It felt as if the promise to receive these things when paying the cover was simply just a ploy to get people into the club, and were not actually guaranteed even a little bit. If the appetizers and champagne had run out, we should have not been let in paying the same cover as people who apparently actually got to enjoy what was promised. I don't think getting to a bar at 10 is considered late, so these things should not have been gone already. The owner did go and get us an entire bottle of champagne to make up for it, which was nice but just confirmed he was clearly lying about things being "gone" for us to not get them in the first place. One of my favorite places to go downtown. FYI if you go downtown on a Friday and a Saturday... you will see a different crowd pretty much everywhere you go. The days are different with different vibes. Laura is the cute blonde hair girl at the main bar... tell her to make you a key lime pie martini because Terra told you about them. lol Make sure you walk back to the bathroom to see the rest of the club in the back. There is a smoking room so you dont have to go outside when its cold out. The bathroom is the best to take pictures at for us girls. They offer desserts and appetizers as well. If you are looking for a quiet place to take your date go right when it opens to have some convo time. Club doesnt usually get busy til closer to 11 or midnight. read more

It is a decent lounge/dance club for Harrisburg. The dance floor is decently small, but it is manageable. They do have a tight clothing policy, so definitely check the website or else you cannot go in. There is a separate VIP section too which looks nice and fancy. This is a great place for a girls night out. Great drinks and friendly staff. They do sometimes pester you to buy a drink as if you are dancing there on their dime even when I've already had several but do not have one in hand at the moment. I like Level 2 when I feel like going dancing. It does not fit in with the rest of downtown Harrisburg and in a lot of ways that's a good thing. It is very hip, mostly young and has a good DJ on weekends. There is a dress code which is enforced heavily on the guys. If you're a girl you can mostly get away with anything. Drinks are overpriced which has been stated repeatedly here. BUT it is no smoking, clean and maintains a fairly classy vibe. Compared to other 2nd street clubs this one definitely wins my vote. If you feel like clubbing it up I recommend Level 2. read more

We went to level 2 for a bachelorette party last weekend. It wasn't crowded when we got there, which was so nice. There were 7 girls with our group and we sat down at a nice private table to order drinks. Our server was so friendly and quick with our drinks. The DJ was great and we really enjoyed the music all night. The owner bought our group a round of shots which was part of the reason we decided to stay all night. Eventually we got up, but stayed near our seats to dance where we kept all of our stuff throughout the night. We danced for hours and before we knew it it was 2:00 am. When we got our bill, it was much lower than we expected. We all had such a great time (especially our bachelorette!) and I would definitely go back again in a similar situation. read more

Level 2 Nightlife is the place to be in the Burg as far as I am concerned! I mean you can hop in your car and travel a few hours to Phili, Baltimore or NY if you want to get the same experience but why do that when it is right downtown. Then you have a find a place to stay etc.. There is a pretty strict dress code here and the guys should be aware that they cannot just look like a dirtball while their hot girlfriend dresses up to the nines like all the other girls that go here! Yeah, I had to wear a nice shirt, pants and shoes but so what? Now the place..This is an upscale, high end night club. The staff was very professional, courteous and attentive to us. Our waitress was great and always polite and quick to get us what we wanted as we ordered bottle service! Yeah, you will spend some money here no doubt..The bouncers here are dressed like they are secret service dudes (pretty cool) not like thugs at most joints. The one big bald guy inside asked me if I could please move to the side for him. I mean, where have you gone where a bouncer said "please" to you in a polite manner other then "please get the F out"! The crowd here is mixed..seemed to be all ages from all walks of life and all different kinds of nice people. No thugs in this place like we found at that other place Dragon ***. My girlfriend and I made alot of friends that night. The ambience was dimly lit with some cool modern touches and pretty sweet jams playing from some hip hop, to even some 80's! i went to Level 2 all the time and always enjoyed it! however, last night was different! i got my purse and phone stolen but Brian (the owner) and securities went out of their way to try recover my items. Unfortunately, the two chicks who stole my purse and phone was gone and they turned my phone off so we couldn't located where they at. This place has gone downhill since the past year. Now, since it the summertime, it is particularly bad since there are not as many people there on the weekends as there are during the fall / wintertime. Sawyers takes a lot of their business during these months. Concurring with some of the other reviews, the drinks are way overpriced. Mind you, I'd pay $10 for a rum and coke if I was at a club in Atlantic City or somewhere else, but this is central PA and its summer, there are not many people frequenting your establishment right now. Also, they have been playing the music louder which makes it that much harder to hold a conversation. The energy and vibe of the place is not quite up to par what you'd feel like if you entered a similar lounge-style club in a big city. They need to turn the lighting down a notch, put in a real dance floor, and get some better dj's in there. Change the layout of the club, along with these suggestions, to make it truly up to par with a proper lounge. It is quickly losing its flavor. read more

My husband rented the club for a few hours on Saturday night to celebrate a special milestone birthday and we had the most amazing time ever! The staff there went out of their way to ensure that every detail of the event was perfect. They were friendly, courteous and made sure that the guests had a great time. My husband, who planned the birthday with the owner/manager Brian, couldn't stop talking about how attentive and responsive everyone was during the weeks leading up to the event--going out of their way to take the stress out of planning. The atmosphere is nice and the DJ is great on Latin nights, but the last time I was there I had an incident with the bar back guy named Davey. I was dancing with a friend when out of no where Davey pops up and pushes my friend out of his way. My thought is what the heak is happening, then suddenly I realize there is someone very close to me and a mop moving across my feet. My heel whapped around the strings of the mop and I grabbed him, I told him what are you doing get away from me! He got very offensive and said get the F off of me. I let it go till the end of the night because i did not want to ruin my friends birthday. It is the end of the night and I respectfully and calmly approached the owner Brian to advise him of the situation. As I was explaining to him what happened he cut me off to say Davey said excuse me and that I did not hear him. I told him he was not there to know what happened. Davey was rude, did not give me a warning he was going to mop exactly where I was standing, and pushed us out of the way as if we were nothing. Brian completely dismissed my concern and walkwd away telling me to get the F out after I mentioned to him that if I would have fallen and got hurt I could have sued and so can anyone else because of his irresponsibility and negligence. Then I got defensive and became verbally disrespectful towards him and his staff for treating his customer as if I was a drunk idiot. I will admit I was feeling nice, but I was not drunk nor unreasonable. Not everyone goes to the club to get waisted. This situation could have been handled more appropriately by the man in charge of the business. I've been to Level 2 numerous times and always had a great time,  but because of the way he allow this behavior from his staff (Davey), and how  he dismissed my concern,  I will never go back there again. Went here once before and had no problems. Went for new years eve and everything went wrong. They give out free champagne and d'oeuvres.. well one person in my group didnt get champagne and the bartender charged ten dollars for an extra glass. I didn't see any d'oeuvres at all. Everything was peachy until my friend and I went to the bathroom and when we came back the bouncers were telling our other friends to leave. I asked the bouncer what was going on and was called a bitch by him, an employee of this "upscale" establishment who I'd never met. Then my male friend and I got to the stairs to leave he was shoved and fell halfway down them before catching himself backward on the railing. He asked me to help him up and I couldn't so I asked the 7 bouncers that were now standing at the top of the steps to help and they replied "no, get out" and just stood there with their arms folded. I still have no idea why we were kicked out but I have met nicer and more helpful employees at biker bars than at level 2. was there last month on a saturday. the dj was horrible! he played a lot of songs for 30 seconds then would play a new one. on top of that, at a supposed upscale club, you dont play vanilla ice or "aint no mountain high enough." they want to be like a nyc nightclub but the dj stinks. i could do a better job. why are dj's in hbg so horrible? a dance club/upscale lounge should play good dance music and it never happens. i also bought a mojito and was charged $10, overpriced considering the drink was in a small glass and was made just ok. ive had better. read more
