Great crowd, music, and the drinks are not pricey like other places in midtown. Very friendly and attentive bartenders

The drinks were affordable and strong, which was a definite plus. However, my main issue with The Lodge is the seating situation near the stage. If you're sitting in front, be prepared for people to stand directly in front of you during the drag show. I would've preferred if the drag queens, owner, or even security had stepped in to ask them to move. It was frustrating to have 6-foot-tall, 300-pound women completely block our view--especially after paying $18 per ticket. Also, watch out for this one wild white lady in a black shirt and floral shorts who acts invisible and blocks multiple people. If you ask her politely to move, she'll argue with you and even try to escalate things by telling you to "step outside" like she's about that life. Overall, for our first drag show, we had fun--but if you're going to enjoy the performance, be ready to be annoyed because no one there is enforcing basic courtesy or crowd control. Looking for great house music, cheap drinks, and a small town vibe that still has a piece of metropolitan life? Go to the Lodge. The drag queens are fab and super sweet and all about the jello shots lol. My wife and I went and had a great time though it was sleepier than we remembered it. Fair warning it is located in an area that's very dark at night so be on high alert. If coming from Hagerstown it will be on your left, if Frederick your right.

High Dive is an interesting mashup. From the name and the first impression inside, it reads as a…read moredark, slightly dingy dive bar, and it fully delivers that vibe. Then you open the menu and realize there is a surprisingly large Hawaiian themed food selection. It is not really a restaurant, though. It feels like a bar first, with a better than expected food program, not the other way around. The bar service was excellent. I ordered a Sazerac, and they served it with the absinthe on the side so you can add it to taste. That is a small detail, but it shows care and attention, and it made for a great drink. Service overall was friendly and prompt. Even though it is clearly a bar, it is also calm enough during certain hours that you could do some work or have a low key meeting. I would not try that during peak drinking hours. I am not sure of the exact hours, but it seems like more of a late day or evening spot than a lunch stop. If you are in the area and want a solid cocktail and a snack, High Dive is an easy pick.

The moment I realized there was nowhere to park in Harrisburg's awesome Midtown area, I knew I was in for a good time. That kind of energy usually means a place is worth the stop. From the old‑school neon sign outside to the throwback décor inside, the whole place felt like a blast from the past, almost like a little slice of Brooklyn tucked into Harrisburg. The crowd was lively but not overwhelming, with plenty of seating and someone ready to greet you right away. I was told that during the week there's usually no wait at all, which is a huge bonus. I asked the bartender to surprise me with a drink, and he delivered a gorgeous gin Frenchie with perfectly balanced foam and flavor. It was honestly one of the highlights of my visit. This spot is a true hidden gem and now holds a special place in my heart. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great drinks, great vibes, and a throw back atmosphere.

They have really good unique drinks and shots (my favorite was the blue jolly rancher shot) and they have a bunch of games set up all over the bar. One thing I was unaware of is that smoking is allowed inside, so within seconds, all you smell is cigarettes and walking out of there, that smell stuck to our clothes and in our hair. The games were really awesome but it was not very inclusive of how to be able to play. People would claim the tables for hours and was difficult to make our way in to be able to play. The bartenders were insanely friendly and genuinely made really good drinks and made them quickly. They were also extremely affordable and decently strong. The service here is 5/5 starts and would highly recommend coming here if you are looking to try some new and exciting drinks. The second you walk up to the bar, you are served which is extremely nice as some bars take a while. All in all, I would come back here, but the smoking inside with no separate area to do so is definitely a turn off as well as the unorganized and cliquey nature of the game areas (hard for the owner to control, and not their fault). Had a good time with friends and is definitely a unique bar when visiting Harrisburg.
