The best Kebab shop in the country, it's hard to argue with this to be honest. I have been going to…read morethis takeaway for a number of years and it rarely fails to deliver. It has recently been crowned best Kebab shop in the UK which is something that can't go unnoticed. I hadn't been here in a little while until a recent 'secretsupperclub' event was nearby and I thought to myself I must get one soon..... so I did. Like always I would go for the original kebab on bread with salad and the special Sphinx Sauce, if you have not tried this yet you are missing out! The kebab meat is real actual steak / beef pieces which tastes great especially compared to the rubbery meat other Belfast Kebabs have to offer. I speak really highly of this place because it is awesome food, but I do feel the portion sizes have also skimped over the years I also got a chip with my order and the chips literally covered the plastic container they came in and that was it. Even the size of the kebab looks as though it has shrunk down in size. Which is why sadly this is no 5 star rating for the Sphinx. That being said, if you are in the mood for a kebab you have to hit the best in town.... Which is the Sphinx, you will not be disappointed!

I always remember that when I was at school and people were talking about takeaways that they…read morerecently had, the more stranmillis and malone based members of the year would always wax lyrical about this place, proclaiming the " sphinx chip" to be the equivalent of eating heaven. I didn't go here for many years after hearing the hype and whilst realising that their praise was a bit OTT, this is a good chip shop, though many people prefer it late night as the kebab place of choice. That is fine by me as they do a kebab that is a damn sight better than what is produced by most Belfast chip shops and eateries. The shop refit has mad the place feel more clean and spacious, and the goods on offer are all well cooked and are reasonably priced. As mentioned earlier the Sphinx sauce they put on chips is amazing, although I am frightened to think what actually goes into it.... oh well, ignorance is bliss!

A fabulous high-end dinner at Home, selected as they have a complete gluten-free menu and lots of…read morevery tasty options. I went with the roast chicken breast which of course is all sorts of fancy on the menu. "Grange farm chicken, crispy colcannon, creamed celeriac, summer greens." It was presented perfectly and I cleared the plate. Delicious. The winner at the table was the lamb rump, served with a basil mash, ratatouille and confit lamb belly. Looked great, smelled great. Service was top notch. Wine list was decently extensive. And the desserts also looked amazing. Definitely a top notch meal and probably the fanciest I had in all of Ireland. Home was an absolute smash hit! Our party of 4 arrived at 630PM for dinner on a Monday and had the…read morebest time. The ambiance of Home was extra cozy. The dining room was painted dark warm tones and had the feel of a cabin. We were seated immediately and placed an order for cocktails. Our table got the blood orange margarita, old fashioned, and white peach martini. The drinks were incredibly tasty and were such a hit that we ordered another round. For our main food, we got the house bread which came warm and crispy and was paired with delicious bread and olive tamponade. We also got the beef dumplings which in my opinion were not dumplings, but closer to a perogi. They were crispy and umami. Two of us got the chicken main and the other two got the pasta with beef cheek/mushroom and the fish with clams. Everything was amazing! All proteins were juicy and succulent; all veggies were prepared perfectly and seasoned well; and all carbs were complimentary to the dishes. To finish our experience, we ended with the mind blowing sticky toffee pudding. I have no words. I understand why this is such a popular dessert in the UK. WOW. Home was a 10/10 and completely deserved the Michelin recognition. We hope all travelers give this restaurant a chance - it will blow you away.
