I have to say I'm just not a big fan of Starbucks in general, the only time I find it the top choice would be when flying out of Belfast Int'l, and to be honest that's mainly because the alternatives there are really sub-par.
I do find though that while I don't typically enjoy Starbucks, it's not terrible and there is a good level of consistency across shops. I do tend to prefer the higher end independent coffee shops as the quality there is generally unrivalled by any of the main chain outlets. But even when compared to the other outlets (Nero/Costa) it would come in 3rd for me. A Starbucks outlet is welcomed though when the alternatives are greasy spoon cafes where there is a strong chance that the coffee option will taste like a cup of instant!
There are pros though to Starbucks such as the decent décor, almost always friendly staff, efficient and courteous service and good Wi-Fi access. It's hard to write a review for chain shops as one is very much like another so there is precious little to distinguish them. So if you've been to Starbucks before (pretty much anywhere in the world) you'll know what to expect. I would say though that this one has the benefit of being close to the bus stop I use for the park and ride, and is fairly unique among the coffee chains in the city centre by not having a rival coffee shop within 10 seconds walk, so it boasts a convince factor in this location. read more
