Beautiful hotel and restaurant, but immediately as we approached our host to check in, her first words were: "are you aware of our cake policy?" Unfortunately she was a little rude and said well we charge a $35 fee for a cake.. We were sat for at least 10 mins with no water, no menu just waiting around while staff were standing around. While we were waiting, we decided to take photos since there was no waiter attentive to us. The food was unfortunately overall too salty in each dish. They brought out our cake and lit the candle but they didn't want to allow us to eat or cut the cake we brought in for a fee of $35... so you want us to just bring in the cake for show??? At the end our total ended up being $271. Part of the pricing for that which was insane for 4 guests was a fee of automatic gratuity of $43.00 over 18%. We also overheard a couple leaving talking to the host about their automatic gratuity which was $100 for only 2 people. WOULD DEFINITELY recommend (dinner). Stopped by for a celebratory dinner for 2. The restaurant is located at the La Concha Resort, walking through the main lobby, keeping straight, and taking the first elevators to 'M' floor. Right away, this was one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever dined in. The ambiance gives tropical with calm luxury, one of the best interiors I have EVER seen; Given the open concept design of the restaurant, there weren't any issues with it getting loud in there due to the multitude of conversations that were ongoing which was surprising. We were greeted by our main server but also had 2 other servers and 2 other food runners who catered to us during our stay. It was clear too that the staff knew the menu front to back, gave us so many details on the dishes to the point, almost gave us too much information (but never hurts to know more I guess) For the drinks, they have specific drink menu available in-person that I did not capture a picture of unfortunately, but for my drink, I basically ordered the equivalent to an Old Fashioned that they had on their drink list which was on par with other Old Fashioned (Rating: 8.2/10). They also have an extensive wine list as well. For the appetizers, we ordered the Fritto Misto (was basically fried shrimp, calamari, and Zuchinni with an aioli that I would absolutely DIE FOR. When I say that aioli was so good, I would get the appetizer again just for it (Rating: 9.0/10), blows Ranch out of the water in my opinion. I have never been obsessed with a sauce before (unless it's Wingstop Honey Mustard). For the entrees, we ordered the Cod, the Cappelletti, and Patatas Bravas (side). The Cod was a perfect texture with a tomato base that was simply amazing, didn't do too much and let the main part of the dish do the work (Rating: 8.9/10). The Patatas Bravas were cooked well with nice consistency and delicious sauce (they weren't too heavy with the sauce neither), came out piping hot which is what I like (Rating: 9.2/10), different style of potatoes that I am usually used to (e.g. au gratin, scalloped, wedged, etc.). Finally, the Cappelletti, nice al dente with the braised beef just tasting absolutely amazing, great presentation and adequate portion. To recap, this experience was very delightful and memorable. The service was of the highest quality and very active, cleaning the table as the meal went on and every food runner and server that came to the table made sure to say Happy Birthday to the celebrant, which I thought was very attentive. For the level of upscale dining present, the pricing was not horrible (compared to that of a standard American steakhouse/fine dining. With the different options they had on the menu to try, I would definitely think about revisiting the next time I am in Puerto Rico, a very comprehensive experience with no complaints. I'm torn about my experience at Levant. It's a beautiful restaurant with great attention to detail. It was the perfect aesthetic for my 30th birthday dinner. However, it lacked in several areas. Service was extremely slow and seemed to be that way for everyone. It also took over an hour to receive our entrees and there was no apology. People around us also were at their tables for hours. Also it seems like they only enforce dress code for certain people, which is unfair. If you're good to have a strict dress code it should be the same for everyone. For the most part the food was really good. We started with the mezzo for the table and chose hummus, tzatziki, and tirokafteri. The tirokafteri was delicious! The whole table enjoyed it. However, the pita it came with was a little tough. We also ordered the fritto misto, which was perfectly cooked. The shrimp and calamari were tender. For my entree I ordered the lobster risotto, which was okay. I would have appreciated some Parmesan or something to elevate it. We went here tonight for the second night in a row. My husband just turned 50 and I put that in the notes to put the reservation. This restaurant is inside the La Concha hotel. You must make reservations and they have a pretty strict dress code so just make sure you please look that up before you go. If you're at the hotel and you didn't make reservations, no need to worry because they do have a bar in there that you do not need reservations for and you could order food from the bar area. We went here last night and we got the Bronzino for two and I came with two sides. We picked carrots and polenta probably the best carrots I've ever had in my entire life, and the polenta was delicious as well. I never had a whole Bronzino, so it was a bit nervous and excited at the same time, but there has served with no bones and no head. It was seasoned perfectly and delicious. Yesterday when we were replacing our dinner order, we were informed that we needed to order our desserts at the same time that we ordered our dinner because each is prepared separately by the chef and they needed time to do it. We opted for no dessert, but when they brought our check, they brought two little small cookie type items, two small, gummy's and a little disc of chocolate complementary Today we went and we got perfect seats and all three of the tables that were up against this window had a happy birthday index card type of a sign on the table. Tonight we ordered the cod, my husband ordered the swordfish and then we opted to get the fusilini with octopus pasta. The cod was good. It was over a bean type of a paste and it was a little boring the prosciutto they put on top along with the Swiss shard gave it a little bit more flavor. My husband's swordfish came with clams and mussels and potatoes that were small and perfectly round. The muscles in the clams were small as well, but his dish was delicious. The fusilini pasta with bone marrow and octopus was by far the star of the show. It was amazing with flavors and delicious. When you order one of the meals that are for two people which is a Bronzino and a steak those come with two sides however, if you order anything else off the menu, it does not include any sides and there should be an additional cost Because we each have a dish plus we shared the pasta. We had no room for any dessert after and no room for after dinner drinks as well. I'm not sure why we were not giving any complementary desserts like we were last night, especially since they knew it was my husband's birthday There appears to be a consistency issue. The chef did send out some complimentary spinach cracker featured in one of the pictures. For appetizers we ordered calamari & pita bread that comes with 3 sauces which is hummus, taziki & a cucumber honey one. They were good. For dinner we ordered the 26oz steak (6/10) I believe, patatas bravas (4/10) carrots (7/10) and a pasta (4/10) I forgot what it was called. They offered us deserts and I told the server that we were there for my birthday and if they had a mini birthday desert and he basically said no if we don't purchase one. Which again, is pretty insane coming from fine dining restaurants in Las Vegas that do a little complimentary desert & we paid over $500 for dinner. Honestly, this was one of the worst service experiences we've had, especially at a restaurant that is supposed to be high-end. We came here to celebrate our 5-year anniversary and were expecting a special night, but the service completely ruined it. Waiting about 15 minutes for a soda refill was just one of several issues throughout the night. We waited so long that we eventually canceled the refill altogether. What really bothered us was that the same server was taking care of the tables right next to us, and they were getting noticeably faster and more attentive service. After a while, it genuinely started to feel like we were being judged or profiled based on how we looked, almost like there was an assumption that we wouldn't leave a good tip. We obviously can't know for sure what the reason was, but when you're watching the exact same server give much better service to the tables around you, it's hard not to notice the difference. This was our first dinner during our weekend in PR and what a way to kickstart our trip. Beautiful, clean decoration. Excellent professional staff. And the food is just outstanding. From the amuse-bouche to dessert there was not one bite we weren't impressed with. We each started with cocktail while we enjoyed some appetizers. All were great but must recommend the octopus. We celebrated our engagement dinner at Levant and it truly blew away our expectations. Not only was the restaurant itself beautiful, but the service was amazing as well. We got greeted by the hostess who acknowledged we were there celebrating a special occasion and was super sweet with her kind words. We got seated and our servers Angel and Carla were very attentive and knowledgeable of menu choices. We also had a card congratulating us at our table upon being seated. We started the night off with the mezze for the table, which is the option of choosing three dipping spreads that are served with warm sourdough pita bread. We went on a Thursday evening and by the time we were finished around 7:15 the restaurant was full. So definitely make a reservation in advance. The servers were amazing. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable and very attentive. Service was quick and all of the food was spectacular. I know I keep saying spectacular. But I seriously cannot recommend this place enough. The price tag is worth it. The fritto misto was a perfect appetizer to split. Salty and crispy. We also split the Fatteh to start. For entrées, we split the lobster risotto and the Cappellacci di Zucca. My friend was a fan of the lobster risotto, but I was in favor of the latter. I just love a fall flavored pasta. Throw some squash and sage in there? You got me!!! For dessert I had the Galaktoboureko. Don't ask me how to pronounce that lol but it was just as amazing as anything else. It's seafood focused but still has all of the regular stuff (steak/chicken) that others would like. Possibly one of the best pasta dishes I've ever eaten in my life, no exaggeration. The butter used in the dish was imported from the chefs home state. They would not hold your table for 10 minutes past your reserved time but if you arrive at your time they make you wait for 15-20 minutes. Once I place my order of grilled octopus and octopus fusilli, the server came back to tell me that they out of octopus. WHAT????, on a Friday at 9:00 pm you are out of octopus??? WOW!!!. Bro, go across the street there is supermarket and buy one... I ended with a tortellini pasta with truffles that cost $38.00 in which it was average, nothing special. My wife ordered a whole grilled Caribbean lobster. For my surprise it was half of a lobster. They advertised a whole lobster and charge me a whole lobster but I never saw the other half of the tail. Now, service. It was mediocre, we ordered drinks that never make it to the table. Appetizers served without plates, never came for refills of water, in fact servers were contaminated with that disease called "Hanging out at the POS" constantly calculating their tips. Overall, sorely missed the mark and started off on the wrong foot. We had a 5:45 reservation the day we landed and our flight was delayed. I ran to the restaurant upon check in to see if we could move the reservation later and was advised they were fully booked and couldn't do so. Understandable if true. We come in at 5:45 to an empty restaurant, two other tables were seated. No reason to make us rush. The hostess then brings up that we requested a window table in our reservation, as we were celebrating a special occasion. She then advised that she could not seat our party of 3 at a window table because those had 4 seats. She advised they would "lose a chair" if we sat at a window table for 4 and she could not accommodate our request because she had "other reservations" for the window seats. Mind you, I also had a reservation who requested a window seat to celebrate a special occasion. The whole situation was strange at best, I've never heard of such a thing in all of my years in fine dining (which this was not). We were seated in a table in the back of an empty restaurant. Lovely. We were at the restaurant until 8pm. As expected, 2 window tables were never filled during our extended dinner. Multiple window tables with 3 people instead of 4. The other dips left plenty to be desired. The tzatziki was absolutely terrible. The unrefined hostess really soured a special dinner before it began, and the food left a lot to be desired.
