Beware of the pigeons they are ruthless. My son fed them a fry and they wouldn't stop coming. The view was nice but the food was very disappointing. The chicken quesadilla takes like chicken from a can. It was soggy and salty?¿ the pizza was flooded in grease and oil but when you managed to get past that it was pretty good. The best thing on the menu. Getting my tab took a while but the lady seemed overwhelmed since it was the day of the Super Bowl . I thought based on the reviews it would be great but it was pretty disappointing the pizza is the only thing worth trying and there are other loads of places I feel are better .

Beautiful view and great service! The double smash burger is a must. The ceviche needed more lime and salt but it was very fresh!

Food is ok, service is not bad, but don't know why they still used the old menu which has dishes no longer available. But it s great location dining on the beach

As noted, this is an awesome location for anyone visiting the beach at Isle Verde. Located on the beach outside the Royal Sonesta, the ample seating, and prodigious bar is but one of several places to imbibe, grab a bite and enjoy the surroundings. We stopped in after a long jaunt around the horn and back again on the sand and found the Marg's and apps to be solid and not outrageously (it IS the Royal Sonesta to be sure) expensive. We found the service to be quite quick on a late afternoon (5'ish) in mid-week February, so no complaints on that, nor on the app. The Local Trio, consisting of 3 fried turnovers; chicken, beef and guava cheese, are more than enough to quell any hunger pains and probably substantial enough for a solo dinner option. The beef was the tastiest, but the Guava Cheese was the most distinctive...actually representing what should have been the 'dessert' turnover (slightly sweet, nicely gooey). All in all, we would definitely do this and Ocean Breeze, again!

Came here for lunch on the beach. My friend and I split the caesar salad and the plantain nachos with ground beef. The nachos were amazing. The plantain chips did not get soggy at all and the flavor from the meat and toppings was delicious. The salad was as expected, but I think a little high at $18 with no protein added. I also ordered a spicy margarita and it was refreshing and had just the right amount of heat that I was looking for. Our table was right on the sand and our server was quick and friendly. They have several tables both covered and in the sun. Some have umbrellas and there are seats available at the bar. I'd recommend coming here for a break from the beach, but maybe skip the salad.

I mean...it's a hotel beach restaurant. Prices are pretty high and food is fine! The lobster roll was tasty but it definitely has a lot of bread for that price point. Lobster tasted fresh however! Also tried the ceviche and while it was a lot for one person I would say this could probably only be split by 2 people max. This restaurant gets SLAMMED at lunch time so take that into consideration before ordering, one day I was told it was gonna be an hour wait for a Togo food item. Ended up coming back the next day for an early lunch and had to wait about 30 mins. So definitely try to avoid the crowd. All in all place is fine. But hey look at that beach ammirite?

My travels have taken me to Puerto Rico. The resort has the Ocean Breeze restaurant on the beach. It was seat yourself. The menu is straight forward with seafood and fish tacos, etc. wide variety of cocktails are available. The view is amazing, but the service was far from it. Took about 10min for a server to greet me and he never came back to check on the food after it arrived or provided any refills. I decided on the shrimp wrap. It was tasty and the shrimp are big. There is a blackened seasoning I believe on them to give them their taste. I thought the tarter/Mayo overwhelmed the taste of the shrimp somewhat. The fries are seasoned but were a little cold. Overall the food is good and the view is fantastic! The service is far from it. The food would get a 3.5-4 but the service ranked about 2 stars. It's worth a stop though

I'll take 10 guava pinas pls also the chicken thigh skewers were BANGIN. Great lunch spot on the beach

Love the combo plate and especially the fish thing!

I want to give this a 3.5. Ambience is perfect. Food is pretty good and all the other reviews that indicate food is bad are overly critical. We enjoyed both appetizers we had. We had the local combination plate and pork beer something. We will be here a week and I will eat this again!

Choripan... it was ok , it needed more sausage tho .
    Stephanie C.

It's spectacular view of the ocean makes up for the just ok food . I had the chori pan which was just ok . The prices are a little high but it's to be expected when you're at a beach front restaurant. Staff is very nice though and watch out for the birds !! They get really close. One almost flew right into my head .

    Pina Colada

Went to Ocean Breeze on 09June2024 at around 04:30 pm. I had the catch of the day, a red snapper and fries along with a Pina Colada. The fish and fries were great along with the Pina Colada (I should've mixed it up more, the picture was it unmixed up). The service was great, our server was very attentive. However, it was very hot and we unfortunately had to sit near the hotel side, which doesn't have fans. I would recommend sitting near the beach side if you can since there's more wind. It was also a little expensive, about $26 for the fillet snapper, small fries and small salad. Although, it was worth it and is a locally caught fish. I would definitely go back here!

We tried the chicken quesadilla, big chucks of chicken inside but nothing special about the taste, maybe we need to try something different? Pretty expensive though but Tony's it was worth it because of all the good things mentioned on this review. Our server was Michael and he did great, we never ran out of water, always had a drink and food was quick. He was very professional and accommodating. View is amazing, drinks are good, place is clean and you're right on the beach.

Good drinks, lackluster food, and the worst service known to mankind. My partner and I were ignored for a long time and when we set our things down to take a photo on our way out we were approached by a waiter reprimanding us for that? When we made it clear what was happening he did not apologize he just walked away. Horrible.

They have a great menu up until about 5 o'clock. They change to a dinner menu, and it was very expensive. $45 for a hamburger is ridiculous.

I always enjoy a good Cuban sandwich. The fries that accompanied the sandwich was tasty too. I also tried their Puerto Rican pizza, which consisted of pork, and plantains I believe? To my surprise, it was pleasant. The slightly burnt crust was a little thin, but all of the toppings went well with one another. Will I go back? Probably because of the location.

My brother and I tried dishes from both menus, and found it to be quite good. As we were walking past, a small sign for 'Grandma's Kitchen' caught our eye. My brother had been encouraging me to try Puerto Rico's national dish: Mofongo - mashed fried plantains. Unfortunately, restaurants were just packed with long waits and I wasn't in the mood to wait outside in the sun for a long time. The door next to the sign stated that it was a restaurant called 'Istanbul'. We peaked inside, and was welcomed warmly by a host, who let us know that the restaurant was both Grandma's Kitchen/Istanbul. There was nobody else dining inside, which was weird considering how every other restaurant in the area was packed. The dishes are made to order, so took a bit of time for it to come out one at a time. Mixed Seafood Stuffed Mofongo ($25) - served in a wooden pilon, the tall and narrow neck was stuffed with the mashed plantains, topped with a seafood blend of clams, dense fish pieces, octopus, and squid. The sauce was really well done, not too rich, but buttery enough to accentuate the seafood. I have to believe the seafood was prepared from frozen, but it tasted really good: a definite notch up from the seafood I've been having on the cruise boats. It was the first time having mofongo, and I liked it. This version had fried plantain chips, mixed with the mash of more plantains. I don't think this version had pork skin rinds, and I didn't miss it. It's extremely dense, so ended up eating maybe a third of it while finishing the seafood. It's a solid alternative to rice, though definitely can't eat too much of it. Doner Kebab ($18) - from the Istanbul portion of the menu, this dish was tasty, though the meat was cooked on a flat top grill like a burger patty, instead of on a vertical rotisserie. The lamb/beef patty was loosely formed and well seasoned, with the accompanying tzatziki sauce being a good add-on. Both dishes were cooked very well, the back kitchen has some skills. Service was friendly throughout. Water is not offered, but guessing they will give to you if asked. Payment was provided after the meal, and they do stick on a mandatory 15% gratuity for all party sizes.

We saw Kalizo , thought it looked upscale and promising, and chose it for what was supposed to be a special family night. Instead, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, the service was disrespectful and careless. We were a party of six, and the host simply pointed to a section and told us to "sit over there" -- no greeting, no walk-through. He dropped the menus on the table and walked away. We sat for over 20 minutes with no one approaching us for drinks or orders. We had to stop multiple staff members just to ask, "Can we please get a waiter?" Each time we were told someone was coming, but no one did. When the waiter finally showed up, he acted rushed, uninterested, and dismissive. He kept telling us that several items we wanted were "not available," rushing us to pick something else. I ended up ordering something quick because I honestly didn't know if he'd ever come back. Meanwhile, there were only about three other tables occupied, and we noticed something very uncomfortable: The English-speaking white customers were getting A1 treatment -- constant refills, servers checking in on them, drinks delivered correctly, food synchronized -- everything. Our table, where we were mostly speaking Spanish with my partner's family, was basically ignored. Our drinks came out wrong. Refills took three or more requests. Food came out one plate at a time, so half the table was done eating before the rest of us even received our meals. My plate was missing the sides and sauces it came with. I had to physically get up and find someone to ask for them. At one point, after asking three times for a Sprite refill, I just stood up and went straight to someone and said, "Can you please just bring me a Sprite can, a to-go box, and the check?" because I had enough. The food itself? Not good. Definitely not worth the price. And the service? Terrible. A woman who worked there quietly apologized to us and said she saw everything happening, but she couldn't intervene because she wasn't a server. That says enough about the environment. Overall, it felt like we were treated differently simply because they assumed we were locals or because we were speaking Spanish. Meanwhile, the tables of English-speaking tourists got excellent service. What was supposed to be a nice family dinner turned into a frustrating, embarrassing, and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place, especially if you're expecting fair service or celebrating something special.
