La Bodeguita gave upscale vibes without the overpriced menu items. I got the Gin-Ah! cocktail ($13), which was refreshing with mint, grapefruit juice, gin, and sparkling wine. I also tried the Darkiri ($13), which was reminiscent of a mojito, with rum, lime juice, and mint. We also had two salads, La Pirinaca ($15) and Ensalada Rucula y Pera ($15), both of which were delicious. Service was really good. We sat at the bar and were checked on if we needed anything.

A HIDDEN GEM IN PR. A must visit!! This will be one of your most affordable dinners on the island, and one of the most memorable. I have only been impressed by a speakeasy once prior; and much like this visit, I have absolutely no idea how my husband pulled off finding it! After nights of street food, I told my husband that I was craving a sexy dinner... and here he brought us! We walked in the bakery and I was absolutely confused... why was I wearing this nice dress? After a stop to the bathroom, my husband opened the "refrigerator door" and we were whisked away into one of the most romantic restaurants I have ever seen... dark lighting, very limited tables, a full bar, and a wine room surrounded by glass walls in the back. Oomph! We walked in on a Saturday night without a reservation; elsewhere, this would be a nightmare, but we were immediately seated without judgement. The waiter recommended the beef tip appetizer (a must try!). We sipped on rum cocktails (yum), and were brought a complimentary dish of truffle fries (YUM!!). Ultimately, we ordered the chicken and mahi mahi... my husband absolutely scored ordering the chicken. My mahi mahi was okay, but overcooked; his chicken was one of the top dishes we had in PR. We both chose rice and beans as our sides, and it was the best BY FAR by the end of our weeklong trip. The night was going so well, I chose to splurge and ordered crème brûlée- not the best, not the worst. The fruit on top was delicious. When the check came, I was blown away we were under $100. What an absolute score.

Loved this place. Stayed at the Hotel Next door. Convenient location. Food was amazing! Ambiance was chill and inviting. The service was excellent and they were very attentive! Bartender was super helpful! Highly recommend this little Hidden Gem!

Filet Mignon. Perfection on a plate.

We were looking for a restaurant within walking distance of our condo and found La Bodeguita de Manolo. The atmosphere is that of an upscale lounge and then we were told that we had to walk towards the back to actually get into the restaurant. It was busy for a Wednesday night so we sat at the bar, which was absolutely no problem at all. Service was efficient and friendly and the food was phenomenal. My sister-in-law had the filet mignon that came with brie and caramelized onions and I had the "Congri con to'", which is like a pork/ black beans and rice/ plantains Bowl with these ultra fine Julienned potatoes on top and cilantro. It was absolutely delicious! Drinks were on point and reasonably priced as well. After dinner we went over to the bar area and had some cocktails. The bartenders were super friendly as were the patrons! Overall we had a great time and will most definitely be back the next time we are in San Juan.

Love love love this spot. Beautiful decor, great bar. Attentive service and the food exceeded my expectations. They have a server there named Melanie who is delightful. Good portion size, good variety of flavors, proteins and tapas. Didn't realize until my third time there that they have a whole other larger adjacent bar/lounge that was equally impressive. If you're in the area, make it a point to visit.

I loved everything about this place. Definitely gives speak easy vibes with its secret entrance. Food was top gear and think drink was delicious. The bartender was not only a wonderful served but he chatted us up and was generally gray. We went during lunch but I would love to check this place out for dinner and when their bar is fully open. The entrance is in a bakery and very easy to miss. A must on the Puerto Rico trip list

La Bomba dessert

Possibly best lamb chops I ever had. White rice was good. Dessert called la bomba also surprisingly good During second visit the steak and white rice were great. Mac and cheese super cheesy in a good way. Very rich The inside decor is amazing A little difficult to find. Speakeasy vibes in a good way. Service was high quality as expected based off prices.

Wow what a well kept secret. This speak easy has everything! Go through the private door into a Puerto Rican Paradise! The food, ambience and service were amazing! And the price for all that was very reasonable!! Dont hesitate to stop by!!

This place is a MUST if you're looking for a fancier dinner outing! It's a speakeasy where you have to enter through Sobao and open a door that looks like a freezer. The food here is absolutely INCREDIBLE. We got the pear and arugula salad to start which was very refreshing. For a main, we saw they had paella on the menu on their website, but came to find out they are no longer offering it anymore :( Instead, our waiter suggested the congri con to which is a rice dish with pork which was absolutely delicious. The flavors were out of this world and it also had a nice kick to it, not too spicy but spicy enough to add a little flair. The waiters were all so nice and the service was amazing. The drinks also looked amazing but we decided we did not want to drink that night. This is a great place for a little fancy date, a group of friends who want to catch up, or if you just want to treat yourself to some good food.

Grilled octopus tapas

Amazing . Best octopus I've ever had ?! And I've had some great ones . Tender , flavorful, perfectly cooked. Huge portion too . Together with the Filet Mignon tips, also delicious, that was the whole meal! Satiated without feeling stuffed . Highly recommend.

Pork belly

A perfect hidden gem! I'm left without words because the food was so delicious and perfectly cooked and seasoned. It's nice and dark perfect for a date night the service is great and exceptional. Nothing is over priced especially for the amount of food you're served. I'll let the pictures do the talking will definitely be returning again!

I was blown away by this place. Wow. I ordered a strawberry shrub with lavender sparkling water and vodka. It's a bit on the sweeter side but it's incredible. My fiancé ordered a mojito like drink with mint, lime, and cava that knocked our socks off. The food was also excellent. We got fried octopus, croquettes with ropa vieja and the assorted meats and cheese board. I personally liked the croquettes the best but it was all delicious! But dessert is really where it's at. Order the bread pudding. It's one of the best desserts I've ever had!

We arrived at 11am on a Monday because that's when we thought they opened. They actually opened at 11:30am, so we were 2nd in line at 11am. Once 11:30am rolled around, the line was very long. It's an old house that was transformed into a restaurant. It's pretty big in there and they have an upstairs as well. It really feels like you're eating in a Caribbean home, from the colorful tablecloth to the things on the tables. The menu is on a board, and they have a Spanish and English version. They give you a cup of complimentary plantain soup which was amazing. We also ordered the fried cheese app which came with a delicious guava sauce. For mains, I had the fried pork with tostones and my husband had the mamposteado (corned beef, fried eggs, and rice). My husband cleaned his plate, while I took leftovers back to the hotel (which we actually ate later because it was that good). They were out of tres leches that day, so we had the coconut pudding for dessert. It was my first time trying coconut pudding and it did not disappoint! For drinks, we had the passionfruit sangria. When we left, there was a very long line outside. Despite the line, they did not rush us out. Definitely recommend and would go out of my way to come back next time I'm in PR.

Beautiful restaurant with outstanding, creative dishes…read more My husband and I ordered one app and two entrees. The portions were very large, and we would have been fine with just two menu items! To start, we had the roasted eggplant, lamb 'picadillo', date sofrito, 'Feliche' yogurt. Really delicious and probably best for sharing among 3-4 people as it's a bit heavy given the lamb. Nevertheless, it was really good and we finished it! For entrees, we tried the (1) rice with rabbit, sweet plantain in its leaf and the (2) breaded pork loin, mushroom cream, cherokee tomatoes from San Lorenzo, tostones. Our server was super excited when we ordered the rice with rabbit and I understand why. It was insanely flavorful. Also a massive portion haha. We really enjoyed this. The pork loin was delicious as well, especially with the mushroom cream. Plantains are one of my favorite foods, and these tostones did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It's a nice mix of modern decor with homey, vintage elements. There is a very large outdoor space, but I'm really glad we ate inside. Definitely recommend - especially for a group that likes to share!

The restaurant is spacious with colorful and expressive art all over the walls. You're hearing Latin music in the background there's a large bar in the left corner. The menu is big, there's so much that you would want to try so go with the big party. Your offered three different styles of plant proteins when you order your traditional dish. We had the Pasteles, Mofongo, ALcapurria and Sorullitos. Everything came out hot and fresh. The Mofongo was out of this world. And I make Mofongo. The Alcapurria was delicious of Smith's first time having it. The portions are large enough to share. Or have leftovers. You are so lucky to meet the owner. The super friendly gentleman he gave us the backstory of why he started this restaurant. Changing his diet helped him recover from cancer. And it was about the way he ate. So he wanted to share this opportunity with meat eaters. So the whole goal of his restaurant is vegan food for meat eater so they can see that they are not missing anything. The owner also is a famous DJ. He has a talk show radio. And he's been doing it since the 70s. It was a lovely experience my Bestie found this restaurant for me.
