Before my services started, she listened to my skin concerns and mentioned a facial she thought would better accomplish my goals. She mentioned it would be slightly more expensive but did so in a way I felt free to choose and not just a goal to upcharge the experience. She also did a great job with my brow tint and gave me a card with some recommendations for future services and products.

I chose the prescription facial to get professional recommendations tailored to my skin's needs. I made it clear that my skin is sensitive and that I've had past issues with products triggering cystic acne on my chin. The esthetician was friendly, and the facial itself was very relaxing. Unfortunately, the products used caused my cystic acne to flare up, which was disappointing after spending over a year working to calm my skin. While the experience itself was pleasant, I wouldn't recommend getting a facial here for those with very sensitive or acne-prone skin.

The website needs updated to state that "hour long" massages are a 45 minute experience. This would…read morethen be an accurate representation of your length of service. This was my first time at Massage Envy for a massage. I arrived 10 mins early, as I knew that I had paperwork to fill out. I did and was seated in the Tranquility Room at least 5 minutes before my service. The front desk woman was prompt in assisting me and getting me seated, so kudos to her. But after waiting 8 minutes for my massage therapist, I realized that my front desk experience was as positive as it would get. My therapist finally arrived and took me to the room. She asked if I wanted only upper back/shoulders (as I indicated when I booked the massage via the app and again on the ipad they gave me) or if I wanted full body. I hesitated, and she said "Or we can just get to the rest if we have time." So I said okay, I guess so. I just assumed that if I put a select area, that's what would get worked on and I felt a little pushed into something I wasn't particularly there for. I did indicate on the body map on the ipad that legs were okay, but I did not indicate arms. I made sure to look at the clock before we started because I was starting to realize that I may not get what I was paying for. We started 10 mins late. When I booked the appointment, I'd also indicated I wanted the aromatherapy option (I don't treat myself often!) so I was really excited for that. I didn't know at what part in the process that would occur, which is why I didn't say anything during. She ended up massaging my arms in between my shoulders and my back, and at that point I realized it was all a lost cause. Then when she said we were done and left, I looked at the clock. We'd finished 5 mins early. What a disappointment. She commented on the knots in my back and hoped I'd find some relief as she walked me out front. I told the woman at the desk about the aromatherapy, because I wasn't sold on getting charged for something I didn't get. The upside is I received the first time fee of $55 massage, so at least I wasn't out a huge chunk of money as originally anticipated (hour massages are $95). Giving 2 stars because I don't feel the front desk receptionist is at fault. I just don't understand why I filled out the ipad of preferences, it was given to the therapist and placed in the room, and yet the information on it was disregarded. I guess I just have felt like people care more at other places about why you're there, what you're feeling, etc. She did a good job getting some of my knots out but boy was I sore for two days afterwards (I think this is good but I'm not sure anymore).

I just checked my three nearest locations and the earliest date available is over a month away and it's on a weekday midday. I looked for appointments for weekends and evenings and gave up after looking 6 weeks out. My wife scheduled an appointment for me 6 weeks in advance - they cancelled it on the day of and couldn't offer a reschedule. They appear to have WAY too many active members compared to the appointments available. Scheduling even on weekday middays is very difficult, and if you actually have a job and need an appointment outside of 9-5 work hours - forget it. If they sell more memberships knowing how far behind they are - seems like fraud to me.
