Food is pretty good and has a cool clean modern style to the restaurant itself. It obviously has a mechanic garage theme with things like mufflers over the wine rack, etc. the bathrooms are clean and the sinks are coed and modern just outside the toilet area. They also sell some goods like canned olives and other items. This was our lunch we got as part of a tour between Sydney and the Blue Mountains and it was a solid lunch.

On the day we arrived at Leura Garage, it was full house. There was a queue and we decided to give this restaurant a try. (Actually, I wanted to find a warm place to stay out of the cold wind) As the name suggests, it is a restaurant inside a garage, which is interesting decor. However, due to the huge crowd, service was slightly slow, it was noisy and not a place to have a conversation without worrying about the next table hearing everything you said. The tables were very close to each other. An interesting thing was the kitchen was open for everybody to see and I saw the chef plucking fresh herbs from a pot and dumping it onto the food that he was cooking. Hmm... "Don't the herbs have to be rinsed with water to remove any dust or soil?", I thought to myself. Anyway, I'm not a chef so I am not sure of the right way. I would suggest folks to head to the Garage during non-peak hours to truly enjoy it.

$23 of itty bitty pulled pork. Mostly sauce, not much meat. Soggy bun. ZERO SIDES.

Overpriced garbage!!!! $23 pulled pork sandwich. No salad, no soup, no fries. ZERO sides! bready bun with meat not even covering the size of the bun. I have never been charged more for something so less!

Great atmosphere, the food was excellent. Seafood board and the capellini and the marlin special where all standouts. Along with the homemade gelato. Service was great, slightly slow but they where extremely busy and it's not like we are in a rush. Recommended for something a little new and different in Leura.

Very good food, very good service, not bey good weather. Thankfully I had very good and warm food to take the cold out of my mind. I would definitely come back here. To bad where it's located is cold. :)

Tolle Location in einer ehemalihen Autowerkstatt. Sehr nettes Personal. Nice location in a former car garage. Very nice staff.

Extremely overpriced and bland food. Service not good, received food before drinks and cutlery. Pretty disappointing really.

Food OK. Waitresses lovely but older guy is rude and unprofessional - second time in a row. Won't be back.

But our dinner consisted of overpriced, child-sized proportions with no comfortable seating options. $75 for two is highway robbery. My elbows were sticking to the tables and my shoes were stepping in trash on the floor. It was warmer standing at the rails of the three sisters with wind hitting your face than it was while inside here. Yum, I just love my toes going numb while being forced to listen to someone rap the chorus of Stay With Me while I chew on undercooked chicken whose neck was hacked behind the restaurant 30 mins before. Needless to say, we had to go buy dinner again after this. This place has so much potential being right here at Echo Point but instead it's wasted space.

Hubby and I tried several beers and wines, some better than others, but it was fun to give them a go. We also ordered a pumpkin feta pizza, on the recommendation of Joshua, which was very good. Joshua told us stories about local happenings, and gave recommendations of other places to try, and was generally just a very good barkeep. Because of the location so close to the Lookout, I don't know if I'd want to come here during school holidays, but in the off season it's pretty good.

EXTREMELY rude and hostile waitress. And to preface, I never write negative reviews…read more My husband and our sleeping infant (in his pram) walked into the almost empty restaurant. The waitress seemed bothered and told us to sit in a small table in a dark corner on the far side of the restaurant. We asked to be seated more comfortably and centrally. Her attitude made it seem like we were greatly inconveniencing her with our tiny travel stroller and fast asleep baby. Deciding to make the best of it we placed our lunch order - which arrived COMPLETELY wrong. Every aspect was incorrect (including my husbands burger which was served WITHOUT THE BURGER PATTY and my cole slaw having ZERO dressing (literally dry cabbage)). I politely asked for dressing for the Cole slaw. She snapped and said "this isn't America, we do things differently here" and angrily walked away. A. I am an Australian citizen. We are here visiting family and visit often. We don't think that expecting basic decency at a restaurant is an exclusively American value. B. From the moment we entered the restaurant she seemed angry and the entire experience was tense and awkward. Aside from the hostile service, the portions were tiny and overpriced. Two sandwiches and two beers cost us $100. We would give zero stars if we could.

Once inside the cheese room, to the left is a cheese counter and the rest of the room is filled with bottles of wine. This could be considered heaven for some and probably is. There is a nicely set dining room to the right, where you can enjoy your selections in sophisticated comfort. The staff are very attentive, filling your water glass and providing great service. The GPO cheese room has a large selection of wine from many regions around the world, much like their cheese offerings. We browsed the menu trying to decide what to order, a difficult task considering everything they have to offer. Do we pick a couple of different types of cheese, burgers, antipasto, a cheese and wine flight or a main? Nope, we spot that they have fondue on the menu, something you do not come across too often in Sydney. This is something that appeals to my Swiss roots. We select a nice glass of pinot and sip away, in anticipation for the brie coulommiers and truffle fondue to arrive. The fondue hits the table, the flame is lit and the cheese melts, turning into a bowl of liquid goodness. The fondue set was very impressive, consisting of a large platter containing a selection of cured meat, potatoes, bread, crackers, pickled figs and grilled garlic prawns. The fondue forks were kept busy as we were selecting items to pass through that decadent mix of cheese and truffle, transforming each item into a mass flavour infusion. At $56 between two, it is great value. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the GPO cheese room, set up in the historic post office building at the bottom of Martin Place. With a great selection of cheese and wine at a good price, this place is now on our radar and one we recomnend you add to your list.

They stock a really great range of Australian and international cheeses, Hunter Valley olive oil by the litre, and top brands like Christine Manfield, Byron Bay Chilli Co and Toby's Estate.
