    Inedible bacon
    Ethan H.

Food I would expect to be served in an actual bunker. This was my second time dining here but this time it didn't meet expectations. I ordered bacon and eggs and my girlfriend ordered ham, spinach and mushrooms on sourdough. My bacon was inedible! It had obviously been cooked earlier and placed in an oven to keep warm. It had been completely over cooked, dried out and resembled jerky. It cracked and fell apart. My girlfriends toast wasn't the sourdough she had ordered, instead she received white tip top style toast. My tip: give people what they order, cook it fresh and check your plates before you serve them.

Inside. Mercifully air conditioned on the 35°C day we visited.

A fantastic, trendy cafe in Springwood. FINALLY! Springwood has a good coffee shop (Dbl Ristretto) and a few good 'country cafes' but nothing like this. It's big, there's plenty of friendly staff around, excellent brekky (haven't tried anything except breakfast) and great coffee. It's got all you really want on a Sunday morning. Let's just hope the service keeps up with the busy business - not like a few other Blue Mountains cafes that shall remain nameless...

Great cafe and restaurant in Springwood. Made fantastic coffee accompanied by delicious banana bread, fresh cake and muffins. Has a full menu and is perfect for a relaxed BLD with a cool vibe. Wait staff and barista were excellent!

The place to go for kangaroo steak! OK so I wasn't sure if I should try kangaroo, it sounds horrible, but my god, the kangaroo steak they prepare here was SOOOO so good. I mean I was so impressed, I couldn't believe it. The actual restaurant also seems to be the only place to eat in Springwood, there were a bunch of restaurants on the same road but everyone was here (on a Friday night) If you want to stop over before camping at the Blue Mountains - this is your place. On your way too or from :)

When you know it's the opening weekend for a new place, you expect looooooong waits, kitchen dramas, lost orders and grumpy staff... But what we got was the complete opposite. The place was completely packed, but the team at Finn & Co. had everything under control. Staff were switched on. Food was fantastic. Coffee was great. Service was friendly, and waits were short. At our table we tried the breakfast burger, the waffles, the avo and goats cheese, and the mushrooms. And the coffee of course! All got big thumbs up. I can't recommend this place enough. Next time I have to try the burgers (major food envy)

The coffee was just passable, but is very easily outdone by numerous cafes on the strip. The menu is fun looking, but pretty starch heavy. If you're looking for something light or sans bread then your options are limited to a few salads. However, if you're looking for burgers or tasty breakfast fare, this will probably hit the spot. In particular they serve freakshakes, a trendy milkshake dessert abomination. From afar they look pretty great. After something lighter but filling, I chose the chorizo salad w/ feta, caramelised onions, baby spinach, cous cous and pumpkin. It was a bit of a dudes salad and it was alright, but it lacked brightness and could really be improved by the addition of lemon or a sharper vinaigrette. I ordered a cheese toastie for my not quite toddler and when it arrived I finally understood why a salad, a latte and a kids sandwich cost me $31. It was ginormous. More than any kid I know could handle. It came with a super creamy coleslaw which again could benefit from some tang. It's a shame you have to be under 12 to eat it, because it's absolutely an adult serving. So, look.. It's definitely got promise but it's a bit more miss than hit right now. It's expensive for the end result and the reality is that there's better offerings for the same price on the street. Hire a banging barista and review the menu offerings and it'd be killing it.

The menu boasts a wide range of delicious options, however I do recommend some changes. I ordered a Vanilla Espresso Protein Shake, and it came out watery and to be honest, didn't taste very desirable. However I understand the current predicament and it seemed to be very busy, it really wasn't too much of an issue. I was contemplating this and the Iced Coffee, but didn't know it the coffee was blended or not. In future it would be nice if that would be specified. Now regarding the food, it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Açai bowl, it was so good and the presentation was so beautifully done. It tasted as good as it looked as well, I wish there was more! It was a nice meal for breakfast and filled me up without making me feel sick. The only thing I would like to note is that the meals come out at the same time. My order came out 20 minutes before my friends, it was hard to resist the look of my Açai bowl. Other than that, it was a delightful breakfast and start to the day. I recommend to everyone and I'm sure Emu Hall is a restaurant fit for all occasions. A true gem!

I did as much research online as I could about the cocktails that were made here and whether or not I'd be able to have them (allergies and dietary restrictions). Initially I went in thinking that I'd only be able to order 2 types of drinks (a margarita and a mojito) since they were both rum-based, which at the moment is the only type of spirit I can consume without having to deal with angry red splotches on my face and arms (vodka and whiskey just don't agree with my skin I suppose). But the bartender asked me what types of alcohols I preferred, so that he could make me something that I could have without worrying about substituting ingredients from certain menu items. He was able to make me 2 Sailor Jerry rums over ice and I can't quite remember what the other ingredients were, but I'm pretty sure there was cinnamon, lemon/lime juice, and something else which tasted amazing!!! I then proceeded to try the mojito, which was SO beautifully prepared, and tasted just as great as it looked. Something about lime (and mint) in drinks makes my tastebuds extra happy. And I'm not one to usually like drinks with any sort of fizz in them, but this mojito was just, I've found myself saying it a lot in this review, beautiful. And lastly the margarita. I almost felt sad drinking out of the glass because the presentation seemed so intricate and aesthetically pleasing! Again, outstanding craftmanship by the bartender. The sips I took of the drink coupled with the salted rim of the glass were an adventure. I finished the entire drink in 15 minutes (while saving a sip for my partner to try) but at no point in that time was I able to figure out what that intriguing and delicious taste combination reminded me of. It tasted so familiar yet so new to me. Fantastic. Out of all four drinks I had, I can't say that any one of them is better than the other, but the Sailor Jerry mix definitely made it's way into one of my favorite drinks I've ever had in my life, no joke. I was a bit too tipsy to properly look for the bartender who made these drinks for me, but if I could've found him I'd like to thank and compliment him on his craftmanship!
