    two piece tender combo

this was the OG vegan hot chikn spot. The breading on their chikn and spice level is great and better than others. Dessert options are to die for. I've been a customer since 2019 and love their vegan movement. Though, I've realized the quality has gone down tremendously :/ I went to Pasadena for just a tender and fries and was left with a small piece of a nugget. Crinkle cut fries were perfectly crispy. I decided to try it again but with something new. Pre-ordered their biscuit sandwich and strawberry shortcake for pick-up all the way in Santa Clarita. They texted me while I was on the way that they ran out and canceled my order I was already in the area so I made just a basic order AND THERE WERE NO CRINKLE FRIES when I opened the box so I was pretty disappointed since this was the redemption visit after getting the small nugget. I obviously will still go back and support but service does need some work

Nashville hot chicken sandwich with plain fries

I was genuinely so excited about eating this, but the food wasn't all that. We had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and the hot honee chicken tenders. The photos on insta are not like the real photos. The fries weren't crinkle fries and the plain fries didn't have any salt at all, and were sooo greasy. The sauces were pretty good. I really wanted this to be so good but it was mid.

Amazing comfort food with perfect flavor! Lettuce Feast is an LA favorite catering to the Greater Los Angeles area from Florence-Graham/South LA area to the LA Valley (North Hollywood and Northridge) weekly - usually available 7 days a week in various parts of LA - their website as well as their Instagram typically have the best updates on areas, locations, changes, plus special events you can catch them at. I typically catch them in North Hollywood on Sundays for pick up or for delivery in Northridge on Wednesdays. The dipping sauces are a must especially their special sauce, dairy-free ranch also a good choice... Remember more is more :D Hot "Honey" and Ghost Pepper as well as Ghost "Honey" are my top picks for flavors but you can't go wrong with original, mild or medium depending on your heat and flavor preferences. Sandwiches are fun, well prepared plus you can make it more of a meal by adding their signature tangy apple coleslaw + drink or fries + drink for a small bump up in price (which are reasonable as well as worth it). Super fan of the cajun fries and most of the menu - 6 Piece Tender combo with a drink, fries, pickles and sometimes a slice of bread on the bottom soaking up all the amazing spices is the best deal as you can do half and half and try more flavors (3 Honey Honey, 3 Original for example or all the same). I'm not a huge dessert person in general, but have had the banana pudding which is best served as cold as can be. I typically will freeze it at home if I can't enjoy it right away and it's a delight. Peach Cobbler Shortcake is something I'll have to try next as I've had a little of it all. One of my favorite Black-Owned businesses to support when I can, as much as I can (especially during Black History Month - but 100% every month). I think you might feel the same instantly when you try!

YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM!!!!! so delicious.... i had an original nashville sando when they stopped in pasadena and YUMMMMM!!!!! so crunchy and flavorful. the slaw was perfect!! i'm sad they removed the special requests box in the online ordering so i had to order in person. their card reader was nonfunctional so i had to plug in my card info manually. service was really good, the team member was sweet and accommodating and answered all my questions. unfortunately he was the only one on staff at the time so he was working the kitchen and pickup which i felt was too stressful for the single team member. super amazing props to him for the amazing sandwich, service, and fries!!!

I look forward to "chicken Thursdays" as we call it at my house, when Lettuce Feast is in Mar Vista (Venice and Centinela). Their vegan chicken is some of the best, and their fries are always seasoned to perfection. The sauce just adds to the magic. It's super easy to order online and pick up and the staff is always friendly. I love supporting a vegan, Black-owned business.

Just got off work and hungry. Decided to order their biscuit breakfast & sold out of biscuits so offered brioche bun. We ordered 2. We waited approx 45 minutes or longer. Guy was extremely apologetic. Bacon was extremely hard & 1 did not have egg in the sandwich. Unfortunately couldn't enjoy my sandwich. Good customer service but food was lacking.

I really enjoyed the fries here. They're smoky and well seasoned. It went really well with my chicken burger. It's a great food truck- vegan or not. The sandwich is really bomb! From the bread to the patty. The party and tenders had a good crisp to it. The batter wasn't overwhelming- it was a food balance between the Chickn and batter. It's a bit pricey but you will get full with one combo purchase. Street parking is available and super easy to find. I would definitely be back.

The Triple OG Sando with fries
    Deweyne L.

I hear a lot of people talking about long wait times. That was not my experience. I ended up ordering the Triple OG Sando (medium heat) with fries and it did not disappoint. I'm glad I did not go above medium heat, because anything hotter would have been a distraction.

Incredible flavor. The hot honey will always be my fav. Secret sauce is delicious. They need some time to prep orders so give them the time. Order on the app to save your own time while driving to the place!

While I am not at all vegan, it can be a fantastic change of pace when trying a cuisine that is not at all my regular routine. Happily, Variable has tons of choices, and we loved what we got. I was drawn towards the 'N Seoul Bowl' (Korean spicy plant based pork, house marinated Kimchi, organic edamame, steamed organic spinach, carrot, steamed broccoli, onion , organic shiitake, topped with green onion and sesame seeds and side organic quinoa). So good, a bit spicy, and so many flavors on the plate it was impossible to not only love it, but I could not finish it, either. That goes from all their dishes. They are big, and in our experience, it came out piping hot soon after ordering it. My companion tried the 'Indian Tikka Masala' (homemade Indian curry, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, yellow squash, potatoes, cabbage, chickpea, micro green, Served with blend wild Jasmin rice and Indian Flat Bread). Tastes so fresh, hearty, with just enough of a kick to it. I look forward to trying some of their other dishes, too. The burger that the table near us ordered looked fantastic. My favorites are My Son's Pho (it's my favorite pho on the West side) and the N Seoul Bowl (which is light but hearty and the portion is so generous I always have leftovers for lunch). The Sunset Strip Burger is a major crowd pleaser. The Northern Lights pasta is cravable. The service is always warm and welcoming, but never hover. Love the staff. And it's usually quiet inside, pretty small. We've never had to wait for a table. It's such a gem, we were instantly hooked. I just wish I'd known about it sooner.

Both dishes were absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, comforting, and beautifully prepared. Honestly, I wish we had more time because we had another appointment downtown. I would have loved to try more dishes and definitely dessert! Our server was wonderful--friendly, attentive, and incredibly professional. He checked on us at just the right moments without ever feeling intrusive. The service was as impressive as the food. The restaurant has such a warm, relaxing atmosphere. I especially loved the beautiful ceramic water cups with bird designs--they were so unique and charming. Even the water tasted wonderful! She said the house salad was better the last time she came bc the lettuce was different. She recalled it was Romaine lettuce last time. This time it was a green salad. I had the lemongrass fish which was made of soybean. It was a little too dry and rubbery for me. I kept putting it in my soup with rice to make it taste better, but ran out of soup. I won't be ordering this dish again. I took half home, cut up the soybean fish and added it to a stew. I didn't mention to my server that it was my bday, but was disappointed that he didn't even offer like regular servers do, "Would you like to see the dessert menu?" I didn't tell him it was my bday nor did I ask for the dessert menu bc I wasn't the one paying the bill. Not that I needed dessert, but it would've been nice to have been asked. When I mentioned this to another server who came by to clear our table that our server didn't even ask if we wanted dessert and that the restaurant doesn't seem to want to push its desserts, he quickly brought us a dessert menu, but my friend was already paying our bill - too late! It would've been nice to be asked earlier. I even had candles in my bag just in case we got dessert. Anyway, this server said he'll tell our server about not offering dessert. The next day I came back with another friend after a Music Center event. My server from the day before recognized me. This time he asked us at the start before we ordered or after we had just ordered whether we'd like to see the dessert menu. Huh? Ask at the END not start of a meal! Instead of embarrassing him, I told him, "No, thanks. My bday was yesterday." On this second day, my friend and I shared a Chinoise salad (delicious and refreshing!) and paella (not like a paella, a little too wet and granular for our taste, but healthy - a living food dish). We had mint and lemon water for both meals. $12 parking in the adjacent structure. Free parking passes at the Music Center if you're a season ticket holder or good luck with finding street parking. I'd still continue to occasionally patronize this restaurant when I have Music Center events bc I want to support veganism, the restaurant; however, I was disappointed with some of the food and waitstaff this weekend. I'd suggest that the waitstaff go thru customer training on when/what/how to talk to customers. He's vegan, and I'm currently following a plant based diet, so it seemed like a perfect fit. We actually found the restaurant after looking on the app InKind (highly recommend btw!), specifically for places with vegan food. They have a parking lot on the side of the building. Not many spaces but grateful for the option! They have seating outside and inside, and I guess inside is both "restaurant" or "dining room." Not sure the difference, but we sat at a table close to the window which was nice. The inside decor is really cute. Beautiful string lights, cookware on the walls, and there was even an old movie playing on a projector. It felt pretty authentic and adorable. Servers were very attentive. We had Adi and he was really sweet. We were brought water right away. And they serve fresh vegan focaccia bread with a DELICIOUS pesto sauce before your meal. Honestly, that pesto is something I want to take home and drink. So good. We decided to both order from the vegan menu. When else can you get fresh vegan Italian?! We got their version of vegan carpaccio as an appetizer. Which was oddly turkey based? (Vegan of course). But truly one of the most unexpectedly yummy things I've had in awhile. The mayo type sauce on it was delicious. The lettuce and capers were a great touch. And it had some sort of mustard stuffed olives that I could eat forever. My fiancé got the lasagna as a main. And I got the pesto spaghetti. Ironically I ended up liking the lasagna more and he liked the spaghetti so we swapped haha. Both were delicious. As someone who isn't vegan and loves meat and cheese, I can confidently say that lasagna was one of the best I've had in so long. At the end they treated him to a delicious small vegan ganache cake and a birthday candle. It was simple and appreciated. The only negatives I have is that the wine was pretty pricey for the bottles they had. And even though I requested a booth (they had several open), and mentioned the birthday in the reservation, I had to repeatedly mention the birthday, and we got seated at a table. Little things, but still something I wish was different. Overall will definitely go back though!

The menu was organized and nicely laid out so we could clearly see what dishes were vegan friendly. The star dishes were the vegan lasagna and the vegan tiramisu!! Perfectly crafted and every bite was better than the next. The bruschetta was one of my favorite appetizers of the night. The flavors married each other so well. It was certainly different than I imagined and thought we were getting a traditional bruschetta but it was so much better. Slightly sweet and the bread was perfectly toasted. We split it into 4 pieces to share and I wish I had more bites. The staff was friendly but sometimes not available and we were often looking for napkins and water refills. I know they were rushing to leave for the night, but it wasn't a packed place so expected to get more attentive service. Aside from that, we loved the aesthetic of the place and thought the wall decorations were unique. Great place for groups and variety of food choices for special dietary needs which was the best part. This is one of those places where you will come back just for that favorite dish over and over. We had the crispy rice, nachos with beef added on top, and the vodka pizza which is one of my favorite vegan pizzas to date. We also got the noodles (non spicy ones) and the brownie with ice cream OMG, amazing. Our waiter, cannot remember his name unfortunately, was fantastic. Very attentive and gave great suggestions. Overall, 10/10, will definitely be back!!

The chicken stays crispy for a long time and reheats nicely as leftovers. Everything we've ordered is really good and crave-worthy. We got the lucky catsu, curry catsu, crispy shrimp, spam masubi, catsu masubi, orange chicken, crispy chicken. Top two favorites are lucky and curry catsu. Small things I'd personally wish to change is that the onion is too strong in the macaroni salad. Wish it wasn't in there period. And the rice is a little on the dryer side and it sticks to the container- so when you scrape up the last bits of rice, you could be eating the paper from the container. I like that they use compostable containers though!! But yeah the rice is on the harder side especially as leftovers. But whatever, their main items are bomb and makes me not care about anything else. Service is quick! Note: it is not a sit down restaurant. You order (ahead) and park on the street and call them to let them know you're outside. They'll bring the food out. Reception isn't great outside fyi. I've been here 3 times and never last long enough to get a photo before digging in. There are two other vegan restaurants right next to it, same concept - order and pick up. Great for different options if one is craving Mexican from Cena or hot dogs from All franks.

To be very honest, I love this place so much. I am currently sad because they are not open. I've…read morebeen looking every day to see when they will open back up from the macaroni to the spam. Anything that you get here is good.

The cafe itself is beautiful and cozy, and the whole team was incredibly kind. Our server honestly made the experience even better. He was so friendly and genuinely excited about the menu, took the time to explain everything, and gave us great recommendations based on what we were in the mood for. You could tell he really cared about making people have a good experience. The food and coffee were amazing, super flavorful and satisfying without feeling too heavy. It ended up being one of our favorite stops during our trip. Huge thank you to everyone there for making our day so special.

Everything was spotless, calm, and full of genuinely lovely people. The service was so warm I briefly considered asking if I could move in. I ordered a latte, the Caesar tempeh wrap, and a bowl -- and somehow every single bite tasted like it had been blessed by woodland fairies with culinary degrees. Flavor? Absolutely out of this world. But the BEST part? The names of the dishes. "I Am Well," "I Am Grateful," "I Am Light"... and when your server brings your food they lovingly announce: "You are well." Honestly, being affirmed by a stranger while handed organic vegan food healed at least 37% of my problems. I came for lunch and accidentally left spiritually moisturized. If you want delicious fully vegan organic food, positive vibes, and the experience of being gently complimented by your salad, this place is IT.

Best of the best…read more Maciel's is a Highland Park gem located on of course York Blvd - this Plant-Based Butcher Shop has been voted one of the best places to eat in Los Angeles and rightfully so. Whether you're vegan (like me), vegetarian or flex (like a lot of the world) this is a spot you should definitely try at least once or at least thrice. Impressive sides, soups, salads, sandwiches (both hot and cold), "meats" and "cheeses"... Not to mention desserts and breakfast items. Love the French Toast!! But that Reuben is a 10/10 and my guilty pleasure. And the meats are plant-based, loaded with flavor and true culinary flare. Maciel herself as well as this eatery combines passions for cuisine, health, nutrition and care all in one in this often thriving vegan-friendly area in Greater Los Angeles. Catch them also at big gathering such as the annual Vegan Street Fair in North Hollywood, Coachella Music and Arts Festival, and Open daily from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm, closed on Mondays. Some parking in their lot, but street recommend if the lot is full on the corner of Aldama St/York Blvd. Gender-neutral restrooms. And open to all.

I've only been to one other vegan butcher shop in my life (Las Vegas) and I did not like it one bit, but I am really glad I decided to give this place a shot. I'm a sucker for chicken parm sandwiches so when I saw that on the menu I knew it was the best bet to fill me up and make me happy. I ended up ordering that as well as some french fries on the side and it was a decision that I would absolutely not regret. My friend and I drove to pick the food up and by the time we got back, the food was still pretty hot and ready to eat. The chicken parm sandwich itself was hands down one of the best chicken parm sandwiches I have ever had, vegan or not vegan. The "chicken" inside tasted so good, so shoutout to the breading, cheese, and sauce mixed in because this thing was absolutely fantastic. The french fries on the side were very good as well, nothing to really talk about regarding them, but good fries are good fries. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Maciel's Plant-Based Butcher Shop and can't wait to come back again. The food here was so dang good and even though it took me a few weeks to write this review, it's making me want to go back ASAP. Come check this place out yourself!
