I've had their food any time we just happen to be in the same place. The tenders are very crispy - perhaps 90% crispy and the rest is filing. I ordered the oyster mushroom sandwich and fries this time around. The sandwich was a little on the greasier side. I tasted more batter than I did the oyster mushroom. Im not sure if that was my first time tasting that particular sandwich but I was disappointed. OK look I wanna preface this by saying if you've read the other reviews then you might be worried about wait time or it not being ready when you get there and I was too. I admit I was affected by those people complaining but I gave it a shot anyway because honestly the pictures make it look too good to not give it a shot. Freeway was a bit busy so I ended up there at the pickup window at 3:33 and my food was literally being called right as I got there. Some people said they got cold food in the reviews so again i was worried but upon opening my box the steam of fresh made food hit me right in the face and I was no longer worried. The fries were excellent, hot and seasoned. The pickles were great and spicy too, I loved that just wish there were more than 3 because I loooove pickles. Lastly the chicken strip. I think this may be the single best vegan chicken I've had. The texture is excellent, the crunch is on point and the spice is just right. If this is the spiciest they've got though I wonder if their other stuff is too weak for me. Personally though I am a big fan of spicy food though so may not be for everyone. They have a similar appeal in taste as howlin rays except plant based and the dry rub didn't poof down my throat choking me. Ok, my bf wanted to try this place out since he heard they are really popular and have great vegan chick's sandwiches. Well, we got there and the owner was having a deep political conversation with someone who was not a customer and did not acknowledge us at all, they just continued their conversation. No "hey, how can i help you?" "Have you been here before" nothing. Mind you the conversation being discussed prior was about how business is going down or as he said to us continuing his conversation "the vegan market is going down". All vegan!! People compare Lettuce Feast (still hilarious name) to an all Vegan Howlin Rays for their intense looking chicken sandwiches that use Southern, specifically Tennessee, spices and flavors. I've had Howlin Rays and now I've had Lettuce Feast, and so I can agree that I see some similarities. Lettuce Feast is jam packed with flavor and sauces that blend well with the nice chew of the bun. The sauce overload went perfectly with the thicker fries. The fries are thicker and so have more starchness in it, which I think made the house sauce dip flavor pop even more. I went to the DTLA stop and pick up and parking was super easy for me. Parked at a meter and walked across the street. I ordered online and got there at my time, I only waited 10min for my order. However I had a pretty smooth experience on a Thursday around 5pm in Culver. Order was ready when I got there in 20mins. I ordered the Ghost Piper because I like it spicy and hot, Cole slaw, and Cajun fries. These sides come as an add on to the sandwich +$1.50 for each side and your choice of drink. As others have mentioned pricey vegan food per usual vegan food (sandwich was $16). The Ghost Piper was delicious but my only complaint is that it is a dollar or so more than the other sandwiches but it wasn't really hot or spicy at all. I was waiting for that thang to open up my pores but I was chilling while munching. Slaw was light and tasty and the Cajun fries were on point with the seasoning. I was STUFFED after all this (idk why I got the slaw your boy was hungry) so you definitely won't be left still hungry! Overall I'll probably be back because they're close to the crib when they stop in Culver but not too frequently because of the value and the price.
