I don't like leaving low-star reviews, especially for businesses that aren't huge and can be affected by reviews, but after my experience I feel I have to let other people know what they're getting into when they have Let's Move It Right, aka Eden Relocation, move their things. I'll list the bullet points, then the details:
1) It took them more than 6 weeks to deliver my stuff. The contract I signed with them said it would take 21 days. The federal maximum amount of time a carrier can take with moving personal goods interstate is a month (21 business days to be exact). They broke the terms of their own contract and Federal guidelines.
2) As you can see from googling, reputable companies will give you a stipend of $50-$150 per day if they go past the delivery window. Let's Move It Right, aka Eden Relocation, gave me a stiped of $20/day (I wish I knew before they collected my stuff to ask about the late-delivery stipend). When I have to stay in a hotel because my stuff is weeks late, $20/day is an insult.
3) They misrepresented themselves. Mark, my contact there, said they would use their own trucks to deliver my stuff, avoiding the inconvenience that can come with using third parties. Then they used a third party.
4) Once they had my stuff and my deposit, it became near impossible to get a hold of my point person, Mark. I was told time after time that he was busy and he'd have to call me back. He never did. I had to resort to calling and waiting 5,10,15 sometimes 20 minutes on the phone to actually speak to him to get an update on when my stuff, which was late, was arriving.
Here are the details of my experience:
When arranging the move, Mark, my point person, who I was later told was the boss, was quick to get back to me when I called and very pleasant. Then, the young men who showed up to move my stuff were very nice, efficient and thorough and part of the reason this is not a 1-star review. They presented me with a contract, which I signed, which I would post a picture of here if I could, stating clearly that I needed to allow up to 21 days after the day I listed on that same contract as the "earliest delivery date" for my stuff to be delivered. The day I listed for earliest delivery was July 17th, 2018. This 21-day window meant my stuff would be delivered by August 7th, which was acceptable to me. Then I flew across country and waited for my stuff to arrive. This is where the trouble started.
I called Let's Move It Right 10 days after, on July 27th, to get an update and was told Mark was on the other line and he'd get back to me. He did not get back to me by August 1st, so I called again. I was again told he was busy and he'd get back to me. Again, a couple days passed and he did not. I then called again on August 3rd and when I was told again he was busy and would get back to me and when I said I'd like to speak to a supervisor on the status of my stuff as my delivery window was coming to an end, I was told Mark was "the boss" and he'd have to get back to me. On August 6th, the day before they were contractually obligated to deliver my stuff, I finally spoke to a very nice guy named Joey who said he would ask dispatch directly what was going on with my stuff and finally then Mark got on the phone. When I told Mark that the next day was the 21-day point from the earliest delivery date, he said they had 21 business days. Not 21 regular days. I said the contract did not say that and I'd be happy to send him a copy if he wanted proof. He said there was no need for that. He said it was on dispatch to make a determination about my stuff. Which is silly. I signed a contract with them and Mark was simply looking to blame someone else for this issue. I then called daily, for weeks, to check the status of my stuff and was told over and over it was still in the warehouse and moving hadn't even begun. I was told my stuff was still in the warehouse and they hadn't started moving it a month after they collected it.
Finally, I spoke to Joey again, who was very helpful and got back to me letting me know that after picking up my stuff on July 14th, they would be delivering it on August 30th. When I asked him about the late-delivery stipend, I said I realized nothing was listed in the contract I signed with them. I said I did however notice that the contract said that if I made THEM wait to either collect or deliver my stuff, that they would charge me $80/hr. for a man and truck and $25/hr. for each additional man. So they would charge me, for just a person waiting without a truck, $200/day. I said that in the interest of compromise, I would take a $100/day stipend, exactly half what they would charge me if one of their people without a truck had to wait a day for me. Joey put me on hold and then came back and said they would give me $20/day. So they would charge me $200/day if I made one of their guys w/o a truck wait 1 day, and they gave me 1/10th that when they were lat read more
