Five stars for food, service and ambiance. This is a great diner!, the ambiance is exactly that, a great diner restaurant. The service is always quick and friendly. Everything I have eaten at Lester's is tasty. Today I had the stuffed avocado with chicken salad, is just the right size, tasty and filling. If you like diners, I recommend giving Lester's a try. I will be back go Lester's; I usually eat at Lester's monthly or sometimes even more frequently. read more

Went here this past weekend with some friends for a sort of brunch outing. Food was ok nothing out of the world, definitely satisfied the hunger and was worth the wait. The inside though was so cute it was like I went back in time to an old school diner and I was a little giddy about the experience. Service was good, our waitress was a total sweetheart and she made sure to take care of us. 3 star here more than anything is simply for the food, everything else deserves a 5! read more

Food was great as always. Service was great. Had a waitress named sylvia. But the bathrooms in all of the Lester's diners I have ever been in are disgraceful. The toilet seats are falling off. There are no handles on the doors to open the door outward so people come in the bathroom trying to push the door in when they should be pulling it and they have to pull it from the top. The door lock Hardware is falling off because it needs to be tightened and screwed in but no one bothers to go into the ladies room and fix anything. No idea about the men's room. I've seen gas station bathrooms that were better maintained and cleaner read more

I have been going to Lester's for many years. I moved from the area about 5 years ago and have visited several times when in town. I have mostly done breakfast and lunch. The breakfast is alway fresh and hot. The omelettes and the French toast are especially good. Today I was with a party of 5. All of us except for 1 got lunch items. I had a Chicken Philly which was very good. Everyone else in our party enjoyed the food and service. If you're in the area, stop by. You won't be sorry. read more

Went to Lester's three times in the last six months. Each visit was worse than the one before. Good service, just sub par food as if it was reheated up in a microwave. Today my Wife and I ordered sandwiches that were mushy and dry, wasn't even worth complaining were just never going back. read more

I stopped in Lester's diner first thing in the mornings multiple times a week. Here lately I'm being charged different amount for the same meal. I ordered the same thing every time different waitresses charge me different amounts. I always give a 20% tip, but somehow the total charge comes out differently. It's not the money. It's the principal why do they wanna treat a loyal customer like that? read more

Lester's is not good with people that are speacal needs I would not recommend a disabled child or adult to eat at lesters diner people with mental illness should not eat there or people who had cancer removed people with cancer no not a good place for them to eat a man came to are table me my mom and a family friend were eatting there right before Valentine's Day the man that came to are table said we dashed and dined in month of dec I was in the hospital on the date he mentioned I had cancer removed from my back I was fighting off infection in the hospital I did not go to Lester's diner the month of dec I used to go to Lester's to see my mom my mom said I went there alone my mom is always was with me when I went to Lester's I wanted Lester's to watch a tic toc video on my phone of my mom being with me at Lester's I though a tantrum the police were called at Lester's angels god and jesus sent the nice police read more

I love to go out for breakfast. And for the LAST time I went to Lester's yesterday and I had the worst fried eggs ever. They were brown, and I asked for over-medium. They are cooked on too hot of a griddle, and they were too tough to eat. I'm not one to create problems OR send food back, so that they can throw it on the floor and put it back on your plate. I don't know if it's the chef's lack of experience with fried eggs or just being lazy and didn't care what came out of the kitchen.. Even the server acknowledged "if there's something wrong with the eggs, let me know". With the price of eggs, being so high and breakfast at a restaurant being so high, I definitely got robbed. This isn't the first time i've had egg issues at Lester's. Once I ordered scrambled eggs. They came out runny and uncooked. Cooking eggs should be the easiest thing to do in a diner. Unfortunately, Lester is near my home and if my friends choose to go there, then I guess next time I'll have to try their oatmeal. That's kind of hard to mess up. My advice to Lester's..... teach your chef how to cook a simple fried egg or keep losing customers for the most popular meal of the day. So, if you're looking for some good eggs for breakfast or dinner, then go check out, CORAL SPRINGS DINER. . Their chef has obviously been to "simple egg school"! read more

I stopped for a quick lunch today at Lester's. It's not a fancy restaurant, it's a diner! I ordered a very good hot pastrami sandwich in a bun because they didn't have seedless rye bread. The seeds kill the taste of the meat, it tastes like fennel, not my cup of tea!! The service was excellent, my server came often to check on me and brought me a few refills of ice tea. Best place for a quick lunch!! No complaints! read more

I come once or twice a week. Service is friendly and the food is super consistent. Would recommend and it's family friendly for all ages.

Went to a Lester's diner a few weeks ago and loved it so much I decided to try another location. Let's just say they are so far all the same. The hospitality is amazing and service is outstanding. We started with some mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce - simply delicious I had the breakfast 2x2 , everything was made exactly as ordered. My girlfriend had the Philly cheesesteak with fries and loved it. My other friend had the lamb gyro and loved it as well. The ambiance is cozy and family oriented We will be back Lester's diner! read more

Unfortunately this review is about their service and how rude they are. I was at home with a sick toddler and couldn't pick it up. My parents went to pick up an order I paid for on grubhub. They told my parents it was for delivery. Not true. They told my parents they had to paid for it. Again it was prepaid for. I called the restaurant to go over everything with them. They hung up while I was talking. Finally they gave the food to my parents. And ITS THE MOST DISGUSTING SOUP I HAVE EVER TASTED. my son wouldn't even eat it. What a waste of time! read more

On a Sunday morning around 11:30 and this place was bustling for brunch. There was a line of customers waiting to be seated , and I would have guessed the wait would have been upwards of 30 minutes. We were quoted 15 minutes, and I'd say we were sat even faster. The place has a cute retro charm, and the seating is ample. What was even more impressive was the speed of service - I think our food arrived within 5, maybe 10, minutes of ordering. I had Lester's Big Deal, and whoa the amount of food was overwhelming. Three large pancakes, 3 eggs, 2 fat sausage links, a sausage patty and bacon (I opted for an additional patty instead of bacon). The pancakes tasted as if they were made from cake batter - very sweet, requiring less syrup. Complaints? The sausage patty was way too salty to consume and the scrambled eggs were too undercooked and under-seasoned. My husband ordered the Chicken Philly, which was also huge. Service was prompt and my coffee mug never went empty! Final opinion - good price for serving size, fast and efficient service, food quality pretty good. We will be back, Lester's! read more

Decent food at a fair price and lots of it. While it is hard to mess up a Turkey Sandwich- an Open-faced Turkey Sandwich- the cooked broccoli is nicely done here and the server brought a lemon wedge to go with my broccoli, as requested. I wish the plate presentation were better. All that Turkey on about 4 slices of bread on half of an oval plate with nothing on the other side of the oval plate. If I order it again I will try to remember to ask for Rye bread. I think a garnish of some sort was needed. (a dab of cranberry sauce or cranberry chutney would have been good and would add some much needed color to the plate presentation). Matzo Ball soup was decent but I have had better Matzo Ball Soup. Server at the booth behind ours seemed to be talking down to a young woman who seemed to be unfamiliar with what Chili, a soup, was. Instead of descriptively answering the question about what chili is the server seemed to mostly be ridiculing the woman by retorting "you don't know what chili is?" Our service at our booth could have been better too. Our timid young server did not know whether the Turkey was carved off the frame. I advised I was looking for quality Turkey off the frame and not some highly salted meat. She went and asked ... but what a selling point that off-the-frame Turkey is available here. Our server wasn't much on upselling. As a matter of fact she tried to undersell us by suggesting soups is all we'd be having. Then I heard her do the same thing when two more Diners came in by greeting them with "are you only getting coffee?." To the server's surprise the man in that party ordered enough for three people to eat just for himself. Ha ha ha! read more

I always enjoyed lesters, but lunch today was rather disappointing. I ordered the shrimp salad sandwich with fries ($13). The bun was rather dry , the majority of the sandwich was bread and leaf lettuce, very little shrimp salad. Fries were good. My dining companion had a chicken sandwich which was moist but lacked flavor. The grilled chicken was a bit rubbery. Wasn't the best experience for a $50.00 lunch read more

Friendly outpost of Broward's "local" diner chain, Lester's Diner. This one in Margate has been recently renovated and looks very new and sparklingly clean. The space can best be described as sleek 21st century diner-chic (see pic) The front desk reception was friendly. The service was great. My meal was large shrimp, homemade cocktail sauce, sweet potato, and house salad. The food was generally adequate, about what you expect and at the price you expect, given the consistency of this small chain (4 locations). The only drawback was really the bathroom. While very well-decorated, it didn't seem to have been cleaned recently. By this I don't mean a stray bit of paper on the floor...it literally smelled like a subway station urinal (and made me a little worried about kitchen cleanliness). read more

Service was great. All the food came out fresh. I thought the inside was clean and I liked the atmosphere. Burger was basic but hit the spot for a diner burger. Lester Bammesberger opened his first restaurant in 1967 in Ft. Lauderdale. He sold it in 1981 to Lewis and Peter Dogagis. There are now three other locations in Sunrise, Pompano Beach, and Margate. Lester's has a long history with South Florida and it is beloved. This location was opened in 1993. Since then the interior of the diner has had a sleek update. The colors used are a neutral gray punctuated with pops of red. There are pictures of pop culture icons like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis on the wall. My favorite part of the restaurant is the back wall with the black and white photos paying homage to the history of Margate. I came in for an early dinner with my daughter before she had to head back to Orlando. Since I like to send her back with food we decided to order from the early bird menu which seemed to give you the most food for your money. For a set price you get your entree, a drink, a soup or salad, and a dessert. You can upgrade your dessert to a layer cake for $2 more. I had the Lester steak, salad, potato, and broccoli for $17 and she picked the country fried steak with sweet potato, coleslaw, and the chicken soup. Other dishes on the menu were Greek entrees. You really get a lot of food for your money and it was delicious. My daughter had a large portion of steak to take back with her. Of course we both upgraded our desserts and took them to go. I had the amazing sky high lemon coconut cake and she picked a chocolate mouse cake. The restaurant is huge so I don't think you would ever have a problem getting a table. Our server was a young lady who was very sweet. This is the kind of place favored by the local community. If you are looking for good quality comfort food at reasonable prices then Lester's has you covered. read more

A few months ago the diner my mother and I frequent every Sunday morning closed down - they we're unfortunately another small business taken by the pandemic. As such, we sought out to find a new diner to enjoy our Sunday mornings at. Lester's came up a few times in a search so we decided to check it out - we were not disappointed. The vintage feel of the establishment was full of energized and happy-to-see-you staff who greeted us at the door with a smile. We didn't have to wait for a seat and our server had our coffee and waters on the table in less than 5 minutes. We were able to look over the menu and select our items. I got the Philly Cheesesteak Omelette and it was delicious. My mother got a simple grand-slam type of dish that she also loved. From the food to the great service, everything about Lester's was great. We can't wait to be back next Sunday! read more

Over the last year, I frequently eat here and found that Manager Sylvester has obviously been retrained to provide better management practices so kudos to him and Lester's Margate is now back to being one of the premiere retro dining experience serving the community. This was my first time the staff was amazing & very welcoming as well as the waiter being attentive. The problem I had was the FOOD it was absolutely disgusting I ordered an omelette & the eggs were runny the veggies were frozen and not fresh & lacked tones of flavor. Nothing tasted fresh I highly recommend they add like avocado or salsa on the side for the omelettes. My spouse also ordered pancakes which were far from delicious they were cold and they didn't taste good. If you want a bang for your buck this is the place but not for flavor or freshness. read more
