This location has a wonderful, friendly and insurance knowledgeable staff. Their selection of eyeglass frames is Impeccable! There's something for everyone whether it's for children, sports, casual, dressy or High Couture Frames. This location also offers a large variety of contact lenses such as Air Optix Color Contacts, single focal, and Bausch and Laum Multi-Focal for stigmatism. The very best reason to shop here is to interact with Zoey the mascot. She truly enriches entire eyeglasses experience. The staff was friendly once they "warmed up" and the Doctor, an army Reservist and Veteran was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The frames ranged in price from lower end to higher end and once an Eye exam co-pay is added on and a Materials co-pay is added on, you may or may not find great value at this location but that depends greatly upon your vision plan. I could not imagine going to this location without vision insurance due to the out of pockets costs that I experienced "with" insurance. Nevertheless, I got a pair of cute and stylish frames to help me see things more clearly!

Amy and the gang at Charleston Eye will work with you and problem solve all your exam, contacts,…read moreand glasses needs until it's right. Recently, they modernized the office and upgraded all the furniture; it looks great. Downtown location/parking is convenient and always open. We've been going to "The Eye" for 4 years and are pleased with their staff and customer service.

Beware, and fair warning…read more I paid $445.02 out of pocket (no insurance) for an eye exam, contact lens fitting, and glasses. More than two months later, I have neither working contacts nor working glasses. My comprehensive exam on July 21 was performed almost entirely by a technician who introduced herself to me as an intern. She did all of the testing, including the refraction that determines your prescription. The practice's website describes her role as pre-testing, special testing, contact lens ordering, and assisting the doctor. What I experienced was her running the entire exam. The doctor came in at the end for a short visit, briefly explained one finding, and prescribed a medicated drop. He never asked about my goals, never asked what I do for work, and never discussed the images of my eyes that were sitting right there on the screen. For a self-pay comprehensive exam, I expected far more of the doctor's time and attention than what felt like a brush-off. Everything built on that foundation went wrong. Over the following weeks I was given three different trial pairs of contacts. Two of the three were the wrong type of lens entirely: the first had no astigmatism correction, and the second had no multifocal correction at all, which was the whole reason I came in. The third pair was finally the right category, but still not the right prescription. At one point I received a text that a trial pair was ready, went in to pick it up, and it wasn't there. It felt like nobody in the office was communicating about what had already been tried. The glasses were no better. Two separate sets of lenses, both wrong, neither close. They did remake the lenses once at no charge, but the second attempt missed too. Nobody asked what I needed the glasses for or how far my screen sits from my eyes, even though I do detailed graphic design work on a computer all day. I also never received a walkthrough of lens options and what each one costs before ordering. I returned the final set of lenses on September 15 and then sent a letter to Dr. Smouse by USPS Certified Mail with Restricted Delivery (a service meant to limit delivery to the addressee or his authorized agent), requesting a full refund. The delivery record shows it was signed for by a member of the front office staff, not by Dr. Smouse. As of this review, I have heard nothing back, and I have no idea whether he ever saw it. No one has contacted me about a refund, including for the lenses I handed back. Dr. Smouse himself was personable, and I have no quarrel with his knowledge. But I paid for a process that never produced a working result, with very little doctor involvement and poor coordination behind the scenes. I won't be going back, and I'd encourage you to look elsewhere too. If you do book here, ask exactly who will be performing your exam, and get pricing and lens details in writing before you pay. I hope this helps with your decision. Cheers.

Dear Infinity Eye Care, I have only had one experience with…read moreyou, but I have had many, many...many...eye doctor appointments. I must say that my experience here has to be in the top experiences ever where my eye care is concerned. I tend to get a little anxious when it comes to the eye doctor, especially new ones, but I felt right at home during my visit. You have a lovely receptionist who was very helpful from appointment setting to payment to ordering new contacts. You offer all the latest in your field, but I never felt pressured to try any the optional tests presented to me. Dr. Zolman was nothing shy of wonderful. He never rushed me, he explained everything he was doing clearly, and he was smiling the entire time. He recommended a new brand of contacts that I am happy I tried; they have worked out great. The biggest perk for me is that you accept Care Credit. You are also close to my house, which is just another reason to rate you 5 stars. I have recommended you to others and will continue to do so. Thank you for making eye care so easy and stress free! I will be back when my eye prescription is up and when I run out of contacts. I can see clearly now, -Minta

I placed an order for glasses in October 2025 and, as of January 5th 2026, still have not received…read morethem. For over two months, I contacted the office weekly to check on the status. Each time, I was told they didn't know where the order was, that they would call the lab, and that I would call me back shortly. Most of the time, I never received that follow-up call, turning the process into constant phone tag with no resolution. As a result, I have been without glasses for over two months. The lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Ultimately, I had to request my prescription and take my business elsewhere. I would not recommend this office based on my experience. I felt that Dr. Zolman was a great eye doctor, but I cannot continue without my glasses like this, and I regret having to leave his practice.
