I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Watson's regarding my hot tub cover. When I…read morepurchased it, I expected a quality product that would hold up under normal outdoor conditions--because that's exactly where hot tubs are typically used. Now that the cover is failing, I reached out for warranty support, only to be told it wouldn't be covered because the hot tub was not under an additional cover or structure. That requirement was never clearly communicated at the time of purchase, and frankly, it seems unreasonable. A hot tub cover should be designed to withstand being outdoors without needing to be protected by yet another cover. It feels like a loophole to avoid honoring the warranty rather than standing behind the product. Very frustrating and disappointing customer service experience. I would not recommend based on how this situation was handled.

Second my Bullfrog swim spa padding started peeling up. Tried to get Watson's service to respond and they have not. In person they were non responsive to my situation. Email and calls either don't respond at all or they promise to review and get back to you. So the Bullfrog swim spa is a good tub, but I'd purchase either directly or from a more service effective business.

So, I own a pool, and owning a pool is a world of pain sometimes. I had a major part fail, and the…read moremustard algea took hold. It was a disaster. I ran by R and S, and they were able to give me the insight I needed, the part to replace and the pool chemicals I needed to kick this algeas butt. Pricing was on par with Amazon, but I didn't have to wait two days to get the parts and chemicals. With algea you don't have time to sit with your thumb up your butt, you need it fixed right then, and right now!!! Gotta support these local businesses because pool and spa supply just cannot be an online only business. Try them out, utilize their expertise and keep the patronage going so you always have a helping hand when it comes to pool maintenance!!!

I hate giving bad reviews but this is the 3rd year R&S has opened my pool with consistent issues…read more (they close it as well). So third strike.. I've gotta find someone better!! We never see the same techs returning. And we've had issues every single year. It's like they hire new guys each summer and they're clueless. Last year I was told by a tech, he "didn't know the system." This year the pressure valve on the filter was left open, I had a pressure code on my heater (so it was not functional) because I had no pressure to the system with the valve open! I found one of my jet covers in 2 pieces in the middle of the pool. A plug was left on the ground by the system. My pool entry handle is so loose, I've got to tighten it. The system was not primed properly, done with such little water the box was smoking hot when we opened it. I'm thankful I didn't loose a motor. I've called with a couple of questions trying to troubleshoot these issue but was given some bad information. He gave me an electrician's number for the heaters PS code?? I'm sorry they can be the nicest people but this is their profession, not mine. I shouldn't have to go behind them to fix things that are wrong and effecting pool operations or done with little to no care of correct outcomes. Especially for what is charged. I would think a pool opening includes ensuring the system is functioning correctly and if something is not, then notify the owner before driving away. Which they never do check out and let us know how it went or any issues that need addressing. The process is piss poor to say the least.

I would NOT recommend Blue Haven Pools and Spas (BHPS) and strongly encourage you to look…read moreelsewhere. Problems include poor bidding, planning, oversight, and communication. BHPS did not check local codes or verify our property lines during the planning phase, which we hired them to do, resulting in more than twelve thousand dollars in cost overruns to us (after cost sharing explained below). We were told they would come to lay out the pool on 11/4/25 and dig the next day; however, BHPS showed up with equipment to start digging on 11/4/25. At that time, BHPS informed my husband that the pool would have to move 10' to the north because the pool deck had to be 10' off the property line, not the water's edge as they originally stated, planned for, and we approved, and that would require an extra 200 s.f. of concrete. We verbally approved the concrete at $2,900 ($14.50/s.f.), but BHPS sent a formal request for approval for $3,700. Our landscaper checked, and our fence is 4' inside our property line and nothing needed to move. On 11/20/25, BHPS sent a note in Jobtread stating they were inquiring with their St. Louis crew because their mistake would also require an additional 137 s.f. of retaining wall. The wall is ~4' at its peak and steps down as it extends to the north, which cannot equal an additional 137s.f. I asked for an explanation of their calculation the same day. BHPS never explained, and the hardscape contractor showed up on 12/22/25 to start building the wall without communicating with us, so we assumed they worked out the pricing consistent with the contract. BHPS subcontracts all or nearly all aspects of construction, does not supervise their subcontractors' work, and BHPS's communication between the subcontractors and us was extremely poor. Had I not been home, the stairs in one of the retaining walls would not have been built pursuant to the plan, and we also had to communicate between the electrician and BHPS that they sent the wrong lights and wiring couldn't be completed at that time. We were verbally told by one employee that they were going to pour our pool deck the week of 3/9/26. But then a new employee we hadn't met before stated that we would have to build another retaining wall first because erosion could occur and impair the deck's integrity, even though the deck in the contract was supposed to be a monolithic pour with a hardened edge and able to withstand the elevation. BHPS sent a schematic on 3/24/26 showing what was needed for a lower wall and then informed us that we would also have to pay several thousand dollars for the original wall where they significantly underestimated the s.f. and never explained their revised calculations despite our request. After we verbally agreed to share costs with them on 3/24/26, BHPS sent formal documentation of the agreement on 3/25/26 with yet another change to the s.f. of the lower wall resulting in an additional $600 over what we discussed the day before. We asked for explanation before remitting payment. Upon arriving home from work the evening of 3/25/26, we found the hardscape subcontractor had already started work on the new wall without our authorization because we had not agreed to the extra $600 or signed the change order. Further, the subcontractor was placing the wall in an incorrect position that would have significantly shrunk the size of the pool deck we already paid for. We paid the additional costs, including the extra $600 on 3/26/26, to get closer to completion. They finally started framing the deck on 4/7/26 and did not plan to use rebar resulting in additional costs above the $12,000 mentioned above for us to support a gazebo/outdoor kitchen. On two occasions, BHPS requested payment prior to completion of work outlined in the contract. We signed the contract with BHPS on 10/13/25 and have consistently and quickly paid pursuant to the contract after work was completed. It is now 4/21/26, but the pool is still not finished because neither the plaster nor retaining wall stairs have been installed. We were assured on multiple occasions that the pool would be done for a party on 5/15, but we were informed on 4/16/26 that we could not swim in the pool for at least two weeks and really it should be 30 days. I come from a construction family, understand that things happen, and weather can always be a factor. But, it has overall been warm and dry in the KC metro over this period, and the problems we experienced are attributable to poor bidding, planning, and oversight on the part of BHPS. Please feel free to reach out for additional details, or copies of emails, texts, Jobtread messages, invoices, payments, contracts, or photos.

They lied to us about when it would be finished. They dug last June and pool is still not finished…read more They say they have no control over when subcontractors will do the work for them. The worker who takes questions from customers and relays them to the construction manager is very nice but it's nearly impossible to talk to him. I did, once, after many, many calls and he said he actually didn't care if I was happy with their work or not. I was never able to speak to the salesman after the sale even though he always answered promptly before the sale. He snuck something into our contract that we never discussed. We had actually planned for the opposite and picked out the material while we were in his office across from the display. We were told it would be the same material as the display. They left trash everywhere. Everything that needed to be done after the pool was pebbled was only done because I bugged them about it. We chose to get a seat built into the wall of the deeper end and have a table there. The height of the seat makes the table at neck height. They put water in the pool last year but we weren't able to use it yet. Then they waited until after all of the leaves had fallen to close it, and they covered it with it full of leaves. They said they couldn't cover it earlier because they had to order the cover. They could have ordered the cover when they dug the hole. Our back sprinkler system had to be off during construction and we lost 2 trees that had been planted 2 years before. We have a dog and needed a temporary fence to keep her out of the construction area and away from the gaping hole in our fence that was made for their access. What they put up was essentially worthless and our dog got out multiple times and we had to hunt through the area around our house which is wooded without houses nearby. Terrible management!!!! Just use Baker Pool and be done with it.
