Generally, I don't write reviews, but seeing all the negatives about this place makes me wonder if people understand what a resource it actually is. Leslie is head and shoulders above the competition. Their online options are tremendous with deliveries happening as soon as next day. Shipping costs are reasonable. In store staff has been helpful for years. I've had some really enjoyable experiences. Now they do tend to oversell their chemicals, but they're in business to make money and well, who isn't? read more

First time customer but not given that great experience. My name was never called for water test results waisted 45 minutes there. Finally asked why my name was never called to go over what I needed so I asked the guy that was barking orders to other associates and he said " don't know". To families in St. Louis of all ethnicities please visit this location so associates can get that experience interacting. To store manger you need to better train your staff to interact with people of all ethnicities. Yea and this location was a mess. Items everywhere. Cluster fuck! read more

Well, I've been going to this store for years and it's hit or miss with the manager there depending on her mood. I was just there last weekend bought 3 cases of liquid chlorine she was nice, got me taken care of quickly, and took it to my car and loaded it in. Today, I went back inquired about a service that was performed a few months ago (that really only required a drain plug for the chlorinator but the entire chlorinator was replaced) she was rude from the start, cut me off, and said of well there's nothing that can be done now. So there's no point in discussing it. I told her I was unaware of that just inquiring on how to avoid being overcharged for things I don't need in the future. That seemed ito infuriate her more. She continued to be defensive and combative. She rang up my chlorine didn't ask if I had rewards took it to my car. I said I hope you have a better day than you've had so far (it was 10:45am) she literally dropped my items off the dolly and went back into the store. We got the items in the back of my suv. I thought about my rewards went back into the store and said I don't believe you added this to my account. She got my receipt and I'm assuming added it to my account but was still rude never apologized for her mistake. I felt like I was dealing with Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Her behavior was completely unacceptable on so many levels. The biggest fail ever and this from the store manager. My 9 year old son was like why did she have an attitude mom? I had no words but I told him her behavior was unacceptable and please never treat anyone like she treated us. So even a kid recognized that her behavior wasn't ok but she didn't . read more

I ordered a 20 lb bucket of chlorine on line where it said order it today pick up today. when I went to the store they said their system was down and could give it to me unless I paid for it again and then went on line and canceled my order and ask for a refund. I thought that was ridiculous and gave them some other options and they refused to help. it got ugly from there. I went outside and got a hold of customer service and after over a hour supposedly got my order cancelled. That night I received a email saying my order was ready. we went again the next day to pick it up they again said they couldn't give it to us. thinking it actually was cancelled we paid for a bucket and took it with us. I have now received a email saying I picked up my online order. I have already reached out to my Cc company to block the transaction. I emailed Lesli'e and am awaiting a response. Do not use this company especially online. They don't have a reliable system and their in store help has no idea what customer service is. read more

Purchases a brand new pool cleaner. It broke 2 months later. They have held it for repair for 6 months with no update. I try calling at various times through the day and they NEVER answer the phone. I went in and called the phone to confirm it worked. It does, nobody cares to pick it up. Very sad. I guess I've go to reach out to their regional office. It shouldn't be this difficult. read more

The Leslies Pool Mart Service team and the warranties that they provide are completely worthless. I scheduled an appointment in Mid May to come take a look at my pool heater that I purchased the year before. It was still under warranty. They had to come out for 3 different visits and after 3 visits, 6+ weeks later, the service tech says he spoke to his manager and his manager, Doug Haggard out of Tennessee, just told him he has only ever had 2 heaters replaced due to manufacturers defects in his 27 years at Leslie's!!! Why after 6 weeks am I just hearing this and why would a warranty be provided if ONLY 2 in 27 years have been replaced under warranty!? This takes poor service to another level. I am editing my review a second time -Problem is fixed. Thank you addiing one star. This place is astounding understaffed by management. My Polaris has been there for over three months and they keep telling me to come back. Pool opening today. I tried to contact Leslie's corporate-no response. I have rarely posted a bad review and I don't blame the poor store manager who is there by herself. Leslies if you don't want to servce your customers close the store.. Frankly I recall the same problem when my last Polaris wore out about 5 years ago. OK after posting this review this morning the actual manager of the store called me almost immediately and fixed the problem and profusely apologized. She didn't give excuses but explained what went wrong. While I think the store is understaffed I certainly can understand that it difficult to staff a store with qualified people which does so much business at the beginning and end of the season and has a long slow period of the winter. Not saying the manager explained it that way but that's my conclusion. I'll revisit my review again and if service continues to improve I'll increase my rating. read more

I've been using this Leslie's for 20 years. This year's (2021) staff is as good as it gets. They are friendly and helpful and have not been pressured to buy when having my water checked. Recently had a new heater installed by them and the installer did a very good job. read more

One of the place you go to and go doh! I have never reviewed them. The staff at Leslie's has always been very helpful. They really try to solve any problem you may have with your pool. They also carry a huge selection of chemicals. I like to buy super size products from them as they will last me a 2 or 3 season. Everything from pool filters, to nuts and bolts that you need are in stock or they can get them for you on the next shipment. I have been using them for 30 years and have dealt with 30 different employees. They do change the staff often but their training for the new help is very consistent thus a consistent level of service. read more

EXTREMELY disappointed with Leslie's equipment & service! I have been shopping at Leslie's in Ballwin, MO for over 10 years. In July, 2017, I purchased a new pool motor, which died within a year. It was replaced last year, still under warranty. This year it AGAIN died in July, still under warranty. I called for a new one, and they said there weren't any in the area. As time was of the essence, we briefly discussed upgrading to a new version. And then I was told I could get a store credit for chemicals instead, if I chose to get a motor somewhere else. I have now had a new motor installed by a different company, and was just told that I CAN'T get a store credit at Leslie's for my returned motor. This has been a big hassle for me for the last 3 summers, and I feel I was given misinformation on MULTIPLE phone calls. I've lived at this house, with a pool, for over 25 years, but have never had such issues with the pool until I started buying equipment from Leslie's. I will now be taking all of my pool purchases & maintenance elsewhere. read more

Shanna is absolutely amazing! I receive the best customer service and pool help when I visit the store. Last year my pool was perfect but this year I had major issues and her and Mikayla worked hard to make sure I was taken care of and we eventually cleared it up and my family can enjoy our pool for the last few weeks of hot weather! Shanna's knowledge and ability to help more than one customer at a time is unparalleled. She is an asset to Leslie's and I hope they treat her as one! She is invaluable!!! Called to get a price on a new cord/plug for my pool pump and was told they didn't carry them and I should just buy a new pump since a replacement cord will be so expensive. Gave me a price range of $500-$1500 for a new pump. Promptly called Mr. B's pool store and found that they carry replacement cords for $10. hmm.... read more

Terrible experiences all 3 times visiting. Each time went looking for an item that the employees claimed to be on "the truck" around back but never offered to go get it off "the truck." Once we even drove 20 minutes to get to the store to get a pressure gauge, that they said they had available, that was on "the truck out back" and turns out they couldn't get for us - because it was on "the truck." This place is the absolute worst place for customer service. I will never go back and I will tell everyone I know to not waste their time at this place. Shanna, the store manager, and her staff have been extremely helpful. We knew nothing about our pool and equipment last summer and visited frequently. Shanna and her team have gotten us up to speed to ensure we can relax and enjoy our pool time! I had to get a new strainer housing for my pump and I decided to take my old one with me. Unfourtunately they did not have the one I needed in stock but they did put it on order for me. They were very helpful and nice. I'm glad I decided to give them a try! read more

I usually shop at a different pool place located father from our home but needed a certain piece of equipment ASAP. Ashley was very helpful in sharing the pros and cons of the different brands I was considering, which helped me make a far better decision than I would have made on my own. read more

Have to give a shout-out to this Leslie's location and, in particular, the store's manager, Shanna. I had outstanding service this past weekend when I brought in my Polaris for repair -- she diagnosed and fixed on the spot (during her lunch break, no less) and got my system back up and running quickly and effectively. Felt "above and beyond" in my view. This kind of thing keeps me coming back. Much appreciated. read more

We took our pool water samples to them for a couple of years. We couldn't understand why we kept having to chase chemicals all year to get the pool right. We spent hundreds of dollars. Someone recommended R & S Pool, so we tried them. Amazingly, they said our pool water was fine. We actually took two samples on the same day, one to Leslie's and one to R & S just to see the comparison. Leslie's said we needed a variety of chemicals. R & S said we were fine - again. We have only gone with R & S this year. Our pool looks great and we have saved several hundred dollars in needless chemicals. I would absolutely not recommend this place. read more
