Pros: free water testing and clear directions on what chemicals to add, in what order, and on what timeline make taking care of your pool relatively easy. They have all of the chemical you'd need for the issues you're facing. They also offer a military discount and the rewards program is good. Cons: it's expensive to own a pool and buying the chemicals for your pool will make you sad. Only had one bad service experience in five years and it was handled quickly and well. read more

We have an inground pool that is over 15 years old. Recently we noticed that sand was getting into the pool somehow, from our sand filter. I called Leslie's pools to find out if they service or replace sand filters and they scheduled a service call for the very next morning! The tech was out bright and early and Was very good at communication. This is a rental property for us so I was not on site and, knowing this, he kept me informed of everything that was going on. He determined the filter needed to be replaced and provided estimates by the end of that business day. I had multiple questions and he was patient and knowledgeable when answering them all. He helped me to order the necessary items and again, kept me informed throughout the whole process. When the parts arrived, the installation was scheduled quickly as well. An installation day he arrived bright and early and again, made every effort to keep me informed of what they were doing. He took pictures of the old equipment and a picture of the new equipment after it was installed. I was very pleased with the service that was provided and the extra time and effort that was given to make sure that I knew exactly what was going on since I was not on site. if we have additional needs in the future for our inground pool I will definitely be giving this company a call. read more

This business is following all CDC COVID-19 guidelines. The mask rules are on the door. There is usually only one employee working at this store. She is balancing answering questions, checking out customers, testing water, and answering the phone. The company should hire more employees. That one employee is doing the best she can. The one employee is very knowledgeable and nice. She is helpful. Her hair color has nothing to do with customer service. There is no need to comment on someone's personal appearance. I bought an air pillow to put in my new above-ground pool when closing for the season. I discovered it needs a lot of air! I phoned the Leslie's store where I bought it and asked if they could inflate it ... they said no, I need to buy a pump! $30 for the cheapest junk pump. Walked and immediately yelled at by a large women with terrible greasy dyed red hair well past grow out. To put my mask on (which was in my hand as it was unclear if it was still required since all masking was dropped. Then to hear how she spoke to customer after customer was sad to see.... it was apparent she has NO customer service skill or any concept of professionalism. Horrible experience!! I walked in and the woman behind the counter just started at me with a scowl on her face, no greeting whatsoever. When I said I was here to have my water tested she pointed to the other side of the counter. When it was my turn in line she said to put the sample in a container on the counter. I'm a new pool owner , so I've never has my pool water tested before, so I was unsure of the process. When I asked her if she wanted me to pour the water sample into the container she started laughing! When she was done testing the sample, she handed me the a 2 sided piece of paper with 5 different chemicals I was supposed to buy. There must have been 50 pounds of chemicals listed on there for hundreds of dollars that I supposedly needed to by. She didn't provided any explanation other than handing me the paper. When I said there seem to be a ton of chemicals I need to buy considering my pool was professionally opened, she just said , if you don't have them you need to buy them. Needless to say I walked out without buying any chemicals and will not be coming back. Complete waste of time!! read more

My hubby and I always go to this Leslies. When opening our pool, we could not even see through our water. With a water testing sample, the provided us with detailed instructions that we followed and the pool swiftly cleared. We were able to enjoy the pool throughout the entire summer. Well it's not pool closing time and we were just helped again, with a new pool liner and chemicals to help keep our pool clear through the cold months. They were super patient and quite fun, making the stress of having a pool, less stressful. Great job Amber and coworker! read more

I just hung up the phone, I call Leslie pool in Pasadena today Sunday May 16th, The girl working there left me on hold for 24 minutes. I spoke to her earlier and asked about a pool pump, she said she had one in stock but the price she gave me was 100 more then the one on Amazon. So I told her I was going to check around , I needed one right away so when I could not find one I call her back told here who I was, she place me on place for 8 minutes, then I try to ask her another question she quickly place me on hold again for another 16 minutes. no one should do that, I will wait for the pump to be delivered before I buy one thing from a place that leaves their customer on hold for over 24 minute, had I not hung up I still be on hold. read more

This is absolutely the worst example of service of any company I deal with. I honestly cannot understand how they are still in business. The phone is constantly busy, and does not ring through - you actually get a busy signal! Who in business sends their customers' calls to a busy signal?!? When you take something in for repair (such as a pool vacuum), it never takes less than 3 weeks, and there is NEVER any communication about the status. The person who does the repairs is NEVER in the store when you call, and the sum total of the information you get it to call back the next day when that person will be in. So far, when I have done that, I was still told that she was not there. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of pool supply stores in the area, so I'm not sure how much choice we have. I cannot believe there are only TWO reviews for this place. Their products are significantly overpriced and you know what? They know it and don't care. I went in there yesterday to buy a Hayward CCX1000RE Replacement Pool Filter Cartridge. Imagine my absolute shock and overall disgust to see the price ring up as $161.00 unbelievable dollars. For those who may be unaware, ANYWHERE and I mean ANYWHERE else; you can buy these things for under $60! When I expressed this to the clerk, he replied, "Yes, I am well aware of that." IF I hadn't needed the filter then and there, I would have waited to order it from Amazon or gone 1/10th of a mile down the street to MY new pool supply company. read more

The service experience I had recently was worth a mention. All month long in June I cleaned our Dolphin vac and got it into shale after every vacuuming after a liner spill upon opening. Then the motor died. The technician Dan at Leslie's never once failed to be upbeat and courteous. I know he was working long hours and this especially made me realize his professional attitude. When he installed the new motor we ordered it malfunctioned at our house. I called him expecting we may be out of luck. Instead he again cheerfully said just bring if in and he would remove it and refund us the full price. He truly gave us great service. read more

DO NOT USE LESLIE"S POOL SUPPLY SERVICE!! We wish someone had posted a review to warn us before going through this nightmare. All we wanted to do was have someone close our pool for us. The first time we tried, we had a hard time with the cover so we thought we would have a "professional" do it. The people who came to close our pool were sloppy, indifferent and not informative or helpful. I have seen better work in a Three Stooges short. They put the cover on in a very loose way, did not advise we REALLY NEEDED a floating ball, broke two hose clamps and didn't tell us and did not re-plug the skimmer box. We assumed everything was done correctly. Fast forward to May. Now we thought the "professionals" would be back to open our pool. The first pair who came to our pool said they could do nothing because of all the water that had collected on top of the pool cover. This is the cover they "professionally" put on the prior fall!!! They suggested we buy a pump to get the water out and they'd come back. They and the people we spoke with on the phone affirmed that they were charging us for a service that would just take off the cover, re-attach two hoses and turn the system on - nothing more. Needless to say, we did not do that. Why should we pay $150 or more for a couple simple actions we could do ourselves? The ad for the service gave us the impression they would do all that was necessary for us to be ready for the summer pool season. A very misleading impression! After days of extremely tiring work, we were able to empty the pool cover and remove it. Imagine our surprise to find that most of the water was gone because the weight of the water and organic debris trapped by the top cover had pushed on the water below and forced it out through the skimmer hole that hadn't been re-plugged. Now we have to pay to have water delivered to our house to virtually re-fill the pool - only a foot of water remained after we got the cover off. When we closed the pool ourselves, NONE of this happened. What was Leslie's reply to our demands that this be made right? "We will pump the water, but this is a big hassle for us because we have to rent a pump (you mean the one you have in the store you wanted us to buy?!?) and we will only charge you $250." Since we were able to do it on our own, we cancelled this 'generous' offer. We can reattach the two hoses on our own.... read more

We will never return to this location. We purchased a pool light online that we wanted to return at the store. We were told they would accept the return in the store. When we brought the light back the following week they told us they wouldn't accept it. We also used rewards points to purchase a plastic basketball hoop. When we opened it we found that it was broken. When we returned this they would not give us store credit so we lost 25.00 in reward points.
