The issue he was saying was the problem has been an ongoing normal condition of the heater, and he got upset when we questioned him and kept talking about what he "thinks" is the problem, but never looked at anything in the heater himself. We had friends who purchased a Jacuzzi from Recreation Wholesale in January 2025 and referred us to…read morethe company. Being as they had already done a lot of research into the K.C.-area retailers, we decided to visit Rec Wholesale ourselves in fall 2025. We weren't quite ready to make a purchase during our initial visit, but we were impressed by the value offered by the Harmonic line of hot tubs that Rec Wholesale carries. (Jacuzzi has a great reputation, but we had different needs than our friends.) We went back in January 2026 and looked at the options we'd reviewed previously. We also visited another retailer in K.C., and we ultimately did a LOT of our own online research. We decided to buy a Harmonic Model 277 6-person hot tub. We made the choice based on the fact that the Harmonic is made in the U.S. and, thus, had no tariff issues. It also had very positive reviews from people in the hot tub industry despite it being a newer brand. (We relied heavily on information via several Hot Tub Owner Groups on Facebook and Reddit. The people on those platforms are VERY opinionated about their preferences but offer a lot of useful advice.) Tariffs issues aside, we felt the Harmonic brand offered the best value compared to the other hot tubs we had narrowed our choices down to in terms of pump + jet power. Plus, Recreation Wholesale included numerous extras that the other retailer with whom we were comparing units did not offer, specifically a cover, cover lift, and steps. The Harmonic unit also had exterior lighting, which was not a need-to-have but definitely a nice-to-have in terms of offering a safety benefit for night-time use. And, as mentioned, the Harmonic unit not only had more jets than the other similarly priced hot tub we were considering, but the jets were more optimally located and impressively powerful. The final reason behind our decision was the impressively long warranties (by several years), along with delivery within a few weeks. Speaking of which, the hot tub was delivered yesterday by an efficient two-man crew (led by Logan) who impressed us with their knowledge of every aspect of the installation and their willingness to do everything in their power to meet our expectations. We got detailed instructions on chemicals and advice on how often to replace the filters, and more. Last night was our inaugural dip, and we feel extremely good about our purchase! BTW: Over the past year, since our friends purchased their Jacuzzi from Rec Wholesale, they have experienced no issues and use their hot tub almost daily. I know they would give the company a thumbs-up as well.

I would NOT recommend Blue Haven Pools and Spas of St. Louis/Kansas City (BHPS) and strongly…read moreencourage you to look elsewhere. Problems include poor bidding, planning, oversight, and communication. BHPS did not check local codes or verify our property lines during the planning phase, which we hired them to do, resulting in more than twelve thousand dollars in cost overruns to us (after cost sharing explained below). We were told they would come to lay out the pool on 11/4/25 and dig the next day; however, BHPS showed up with equipment to start digging on 11/4/25. At that time, BHPS informed my husband that the pool would have to move 10' to the north because the pool deck had to be 10' off the property line, not the water's edge as they originally stated, planned for, and we approved, and that would require an extra 200 s.f. of concrete. We verbally approved the concrete at $2,900 ($14.50/s.f.), but BHPS sent a formal request for approval for $3,700. Our landscaper checked, and our fence is 4' inside our property line and nothing needed to move. On 11/20/25, BHPS sent a note in Jobtread stating they were inquiring with their St. Louis crew because their mistake would also require an additional 137 s.f. of retaining wall. The wall is ~4' at its peak and steps down as it extends to the north, which cannot equal an additional 137s.f. I asked for an explanation of their calculation the same day. BHPS never explained, and the hardscape contractor showed up on 12/22/25 to start building the wall without communicating with us, so we assumed they worked out the pricing consistent with the contract. BHPS subcontracts all or nearly all aspects of construction, does not supervise their subcontractors' work, and BHPS's communication between the subcontractors and us was extremely poor. Had I not been home, the stairs in one of the retaining walls would not have been built pursuant to the plan, and we also had to communicate between the electrician and BHPS that they sent the wrong lights and wiring couldn't be completed at that time. We were verbally told by one employee that they were going to pour our pool deck the week of 3/9/26. But then a new employee we hadn't met before stated that we would have to build another retaining wall first because erosion could occur and impair the deck's integrity, even though the deck in the contract was supposed to be a monolithic pour with a hardened edge and able to withstand the elevation. BHPS sent a schematic on 3/24/26 showing what was needed for a lower wall and then informed us that we would also have to pay several thousand dollars for the original wall where they significantly underestimated the s.f. and never explained their revised calculations despite our request. After we verbally agreed to share costs with them on 3/24/26, BHPS sent formal documentation of the agreement on 3/25/26 with yet another change to the s.f. of the lower wall resulting in an additional $600 over what we discussed the day before. We asked for explanation before remitting payment. Upon arriving home from work the evening of 3/25/26, we found the hardscape subcontractor had already started work on the new wall without our authorization because we had not agreed to the extra $600 or signed the change order. Further, the subcontractor was placing the wall in an incorrect position that would have significantly shrunk the size of the pool deck we already paid for. We paid the additional costs, including the extra $600 on 3/26/26, to get closer to completion. They finally started framing the deck on 4/7/26 and did not plan to use rebar resulting in additional costs above the $12,000 mentioned above for us to support a gazebo/outdoor kitchen. On two occasions, BHPS requested payment prior to completion of work outlined in the contract. We signed the contract with BHPS on 10/13/25 and have consistently and quickly paid pursuant to the contract after work was completed. It is now 4/21/26, but the pool is still not finished because neither the plaster nor retaining wall stairs have been installed. We were assured on multiple occasions that the pool would be done for a party on 5/15, but we were informed on 4/16/26 that we could not swim in the pool for at least two weeks and really it should be 30 days. I come from a construction family, understand that things happen, and weather can always be a factor. But, it has overall been warm and dry in the KC metro over this period, and the problems we experienced are attributable to poor bidding, planning, and oversight on the part of BHPS. Please feel free to reach out for additional details, or copies of emails, texts, Jobtread messages, invoices, payments, contracts, or photos.

A higher up named Terris has…read morerepeatedly humiliated and belittled lower tier employees in front of other customers through yelling and picking on them. The assistant managers have a history of a power complex they would abuse their power on their co-workers. There are some people who have worked there who were genuine and really cared about their job, but those workers leave because of the stress from the managers and management not upholding their promises and lying about the promises. The company is ran by greed and deceit as Sahrene (the owner) only cares about what goes in her wallet, even if it means the workers get skimped out on their paychecks. Employees will get heavily penalized for honest mistakes (and sometimes fired for mistakes) while Sahrene Feldman gets away with coming into the office, belligerently drunk and yelling, saying she wants to fire all of the office workers while being escorted out of the store. This company is very harmful. You can do your job and be good at it, all the while being told you are expendable. I would be weary of this company as the owners have a history of issues as Dan Feldman (Sahrene's father) has used sexual coercion with managers (before he handed ownership to his daughter). This company is not to be trusted. Not to mention the enormous amounts of OHSA violations that they choose to ignore; only one person being forklift certified who is barely at the store, and many more that are genuinely concerning for employee safety, of the lack of. I would also be very cautious about buying any livestock from this company as animals get sick left and right with little to no sanitation and unhealthy living conditions. The animals there are seen as a 'second thought'. The store manager Zach only got a vet involved for the sick goats when multiple employees got together and explained they were dying. Zach was planning on selling them regardless of their condition as he stated "They can be someone else's problem, we don't have a vet for them. This isn't worth my time." I nice family came into the store and bought a pair of goats, which turned out to be very sick. The family came back to tell management and Zach told them he couldn't do anything about it. Many people came back to exchange chicks as they would die left and right, infecting the established flock.
