Upon arrival I was greeted by the front desk personnel with kindness. She helped get my young daughters and I squared away with the usual paperwork as new patients. The staff was very accommodating, making sure my daughters were safe as I had my teeth cleaned. The dental hygienist was gentle and thorough. I tried one for about 6 months but it turned out to not be a good fit. Then I called Dr. Kleypas' office and talked to them. Immediately the staff member I was talking to Anna was so welcoming and helpful that I knew right away that I wanted to start here. I went in for a cleaning and a complete set of X-rays just so that they could know my true needs. Turned out I needed two VERY old fillings replaced with crowns afterwards. I have honestly have never been to a dentist where it did not hurt in anyway at all. Dr. Kleypas gives painless injections for numbing and all the other work was completely painless. The entire staff works so well together, they are like a family who are nice to each other and so friendly and welcoming to me as a patient. Each time I've been to the office they make me feel like I've been there for years like I too am part of their family! Liz and I talk about running and Anna and I talk about working out in general. I was referred by a first cousin, a periodontist who practices in Sugarland, to Dr. Dale J. Brant of Medical Center Dental; my cousin said, "This is EXACTLY the guy you need to see; he's whip-smart, excellent chair-side manner, and a superb professional." Dr. Brant and his staff completely lived up to that recommendation: They worked me into their schedule much quicker than I would have ever thought possible. His staff showed all the signs of having worked closely together for a long time, like pieces of a fine Swiss watch, in supporting his practice of the art and science of dentistry. Dr. Brant's chair-side manner was indeed exceptionally warm; he pitched the level of detail in his diagnoses, explanations, and recommendations PERFECTLY given my particular needs and ability to follow, with no hiding behind jargon. He did rule out abscess or other dental problems as a possible cause of my fevers, and shared his x-rays and other records with both my physician and, as it turns out, my cousin the periodontist, who I will need to see on a non-urgent basis for treatment of periodontic disease. Some or all of that work Dr. Brant is also qualified to do himself -- but knowing who'd referred me, he made absolutely no attempt to "upsell me" or persuade me to let him undertake that periodontic work. We also discussed some other general dentistry issues based on his exam, including addressing my teeth-grinding and sleep apnea/restricted airway issues, for which I intend to return to him for treatment. And his fees were very reasonable -- much less than I had expected and would gladly have paid. In short, I left Dr. Brant's office feeling completely confident that I've found my new general dentist, upon whom I can rely in both the short and long term. Even in a community marked by fine teaching hospitals and dental schools and all sorts of world-class health professionals, Dr. Brant is a gem.

I was overcharged- they didn't bill my insurance at all, and just adjusted prices. I ended up spending 1300 dollars to have two teeth removed. I could have gone to a way nicer place and had my teeth removed for cheaper without insurance. I wasn't given a follow appointment, or stitches, they gave me really weak medication, and I ended up scheduling my follow up with a completely new dentist office. And they told me whoever took my teeth out screwed up my gums. I was also charged 400 dollars for a "take home medication dispensed in the office" and all they gave me was two packages of gauze. I do not recommend coming here unless you have to. The dentist is pretty nice and the front office staff is really nice. But I can't do anything with "nice" when the care itself isn't adequate. It's been a week and I still can't eat hard food, oh the the office itself needs a deep clean. The only nice thing I do have to say is the girl who took my X-Rays I didn't get her name but she has bomb ass eyelash extensions- she did such a good job at doing x-rays. Usually I feel uncomfortable getting it done because it's awkward in my mouth but she was quick, and easy.
