Please do not be swayed by the (I'm guessing) sponsored ratings for this salon. I made that mistake. I also made sure to book my appointment with Tea (pronounced TEE), as that was the stylist consistently mentioned in the reviews. I went into the salon with a picture of the type of cut I desired. My stylist told me that there was a miscommunication regarding my appointment, so I would have to wait another few minutes (turned out to be almost 40 minutes before he even started. I made sure he (Tea) felt my hair, understanding that it is probably finer than the hair in the photo. All I can say is that he butchered it.... pausing mid-cut, asking the stylist next to him (in another language, so I don't really know what he was asking) and she just shrugged and responded in a couple words. What I ended up with: a complete bowl cup, about to my mid-ear, below that, a bit of fringe. My color went from sunny blonde to dishwater. Some odd brown dye was left on my forehead and neck for days. My cost was $215. If I could give 0 stars, I would. read more

This was my 2nd visit with Tea, he is an excellent stylist and does wonders with my curly "do". He listens to what you want and offers great advice on hair. I feel like a million bucks when I walk out of the salon! $50 for a cut and style and you can often get 30% off for referring a friend (I have referred a couple so far). This time I also tried Miss Lee for a shellac manicure. She, too, was excellent. I'll be back in 2-3 weeks for another! I was in and out in less than an hour and a half, cut, style and manicure. This was my first time here after failing to find a good stylist nearly home. The owner did my hair and boy was it a breath of fresh air. He gave me the exact trim I needed and added balayage into it for a low maintenance look. I went from frumpy mother to feeling good about myself. It took about 2.5-3 hours since I have such thick hair, but he knew how to handle my hair (another star). I was offered green tea to sip on and we took a break halfway. It turned out pretty good, not as dramatic as I initially wanted, but definitely looking better than before. Will come back here in a few months for something more dramatic! read more

LOVE this place!! I always go there to see Tea, he is THE BEST! He's the only person I trust with my hair and who has never messed it up. I had waist length hair and he gave me a pixie cut, which I would never trust anyone else to do. Once it grew out he also dyed my hair, balayage style and it turned out perfectly also. My first experience here was pretty good. I received a free deep conditioning treatment due to the stylist running a little late, I thought that was great customer service. I booked a second appointment but this time it was a much different experience. The stylist I booked my appointment with was there, but did not color my hair. Someone who was clearly in training colored my hair. I was not told about this until I was in the chair. The stylist I booked with was training her and giving her direction throughout the whole color treatment. I thought this was super unprofessional and it made me really uncomfortable. The color wasn't exactly what I was requesting and I had color stained all over my forehead and neck for almost an entire week! I decided to book elsewhere after that experience. read more

I love this place! Tea has cut my hair 3 times and every time it's great. The third time he did a balayage type thing on my hair and oh my god! It was probably the best thing I've ever let someone do to my hair! This review is long over due (08/2013). I was feeling ugh about myself (was 8 1/2 months pregnant) and decided I'd treat myself to a cut. I was transformed by Tea, he cut my long hair into a cute short cut and did a balayage color which I get compliments on till this day. I explained to him, that I wanted zero maintenance and something that would look good as my hair grew out. He was amazing and after he cut my hair I felt incredible! I've gotten compliments from other stylist on his work from random trips to other salons with my sister, it feels good to have found someone as skilled as him! Keep up the great work! First time being there for short hair cut, the designer only asked me if I have any photo to show him, so I showed him the previous hair style I had( also short hair) and asked him to keep the back side same as the photo shown and made some changes for right and left sides with layers. Also, the front bangs. However, during the entire process, I was not told about how he would cut/design for my hair, and he even forgot to cut the bangs until he already styled the hair with wax( or gel) and spray on. And it was a pulled back hairstyle!!! To be honest, I only spent like 10 mins to dry my hair before the haircut, but right after the haircut on June 15, I spent more time to deal with my hair and I don't even want to look at myself from the mirror. read more

Got a haircut by Amy, I don't know why I end up coming here for last minute cuts knowing Im never happy with the work here. She cut my hair shorter than I wanted, layered my hair with a very strange technique, seemed like she was all over the place and didn't really have a method and seemed like she'd never blow dried hair before. Also when I called to ask how much it cost for a cut shampoo and dry they seemed to just be making up the prices and told me it was $60-65 but then charged me $50? If there were zero stars I would have chosen that! I walked into this place with shoulder length hair and walked out with a lop sided mullet. Went back the next day to get it evened out. Big mistake! Huge mistake! Now the longer side was shorter and looked like someone chewed it off. I had to go to another salon and the only fix was to chop the mullet off and try to camouflage this chopped up mess! I now have very short hair! The person that fixed this mess said whoever did this needs to go back to cutting class. Ladies, if you like your hair stay away! On top of this I wasted $60!!!!! I believe this is possibly the first time I have ever written a review on yelp, but I just really had to let people know that TEA is an amazing hairstylist and person. Due to scheduling conflicts, my appointment was rescheduled to 5:30 on a Saturday which was no issue for me. I only had one mission - to chop off some of my long hair and to do something different. Tea was very sweet and helpful through the process and recommended doing a natural balayage. It was my first time doing any sort of highlights and was really excited! Throughout the process he was so helpful and taught me so much about hair and coloring, etc and was really friendly and easy-going. He really took the time and effort to make sure I had a great experience... even when the appointment went well past his normal closing time.
