Trash. I don't know why I gave this place another chance after they damaged my nails. I religiously came in here for years and the quality is not the same. Came in and asked for a gel manicure and I told the tech (imma keep her name) that I'm pretty sure I thought I was getting engaged. She said "bet" and proceeded to give me the worst manicure of my life. I asked for Funny Bunny as my color and she got annoyed because it takes "three to four coats for it to show." She was acting like she was doing me a favor when I was paying for services? She then went on to complain about Funny Bunny. I was like whatever, just get me a similar color. I should've left then. So this has been my usual to-go place for a few years now. I went back in October and got a regular manicure and pedicure, and even though I know manicures don't last as long as pedicures do, mine chipped immediately after I left when I can usually make my manicures last a few days before it chips if I do it at home. But nonetheless, it was still great. I went again recently for my birthday. It was busy and I believe they were short staffed, but I felt very rushed. This was my first time coming here, and I am very disappointed by the quality of my service. I booked an appointment earlier in the week for my friend and I for 11am. It takes me a while to choose a color, so I purposefully arrived fifteen minutes early so I could browse through the colors. I was rushed to sit down and start having my old dip removed, despite there being no other customers. My tech asked if I had picked a color yet (I had only been there a few minutes), and it wasn't even time for our appt yet. I showed her a picture (from the same salon) and said I wanted something similar, a very basic light pink. She scoffed and told me to just look through the samples. Each color I picked, they didn't have available, yet she made no effort to help me pick one they DID have. In the meantime, my friend arrived. She is Viet, but for some reason, they didn't realize she spoke the language and they were clearly talking about us. My friend gave me a few looks while they did our nails, our code for "We'll talk about this later." I felt really rushed and finally picked a color a little darker than I wanted, but could live with. It ended up being wayyyy darker than it looked in the samples, and when I told my tech, she said it would look lighter when she filed it down. She did a great job of shaping my nails, and the dip is really thin unlike a lot of places that make it thick. But my color is a bright fuschia, as you can see in my pictures. Nothing even remotely similar to what I came in wanting. When we left, my friend thanked them in Viet. They finally realized she knew what they were saying all along. My friend told me they complained about our cuticles and kept commenting on what a strange duo we were. Honestly, I don't mind that too much and it was kind of funny, but on top of my tech's already bad attitude, it was too much negativity. Overall, I won't be back. I am giving the place two stars for my good shaping and thinness of the dip, but even that is a bit generous for the bad customer service. read more

I was happy with my experience here. I needed to come here for a bit of self care as I hadn't had a pedicure in a long time. My toes were a bit gnarly and I was worried the technician wouldn't get it. Just months being stressed and finally having the chance to take a breath and take care of yourself. Well, I was really happy with her, because she didn't make a face, was professional, where other nail salons wouldn't have, which would have made me more uncomfortable. I can't remember her name, but she was very understanding. She even made sure to take away the orange, for the foot bath, because of my citrus allergy. I remember another place told me it wouldn't hurt...uh yes it will. Rashes, puking do hurt. My toes in the end looked beautiful and presentable all the while, my technician made me feel comfortable. This thanksgiving week, I'm hoping I can pop by again for another round of self care, but regardless, this place was inviting, relaxing, and made my feet cute again without making me feel bad about it. Not what it used to be. Ladies did a nice job with nails. I asked for matching polishes but ended up with two different colors. It was hard to tell while polish was being applied because colors are similar. Once I put hands next to feet, I realized they are not the same. I let the nail tech know that the colors are different and it is NOT what I asked for. She acknowledged but did not apologize. She tried to smooth it over and "make it right" by saying that the new trend is to have 2 different colors. If that's what I wanted, I would have asked for that. I was very upset because my time was limited and I had another appointment to get to. I had to let it go. Not cool. Also, prices have gone up but polishes are cheaper quality now. read more

First time coming here because my usual spot was closed due to flooding several months ago. I wanted to get a pedicure because I needed my ingrown toe nail cut, it was hurting my feet to walk alot and wear shoes. I brought my own nail polish and when I arrived, they took my boyfriend and I in quickly. We both did a pedi which was nice. I dont remember the ladies name but I remember being seated and I told her how my big toe nail was hurting and I needed her to cut it. She said ok and got everything prepared. I find it cool how they use bathbombs in their water instead of the salt like most places. When the lady cut into my nail, it hurt alot. I found out a few days later that she didnt really cut it well because was infected and swollen. I had gone to another spa place owned by a family friend outside of Houston to have them help me because my toe was hurting still (didn't know it was infected prior to going). Overall, my experience wasn't that great. I dont think I'll be coming back. Only thing I can say is the pricing is relatively cheaper than most places I've been too. read more

I moved to Chicago, but I come to SL often to visit family and I'll hold off getting my nails done just to do them here! Service is excellent. Quality of work is excellent. My fiancé and I both got the Venice deluxe pedicure and we highly recommend! He has only been to a few other salons with me, but he highly recommends them. I've been to lots of salons in Texas, NYC, and DC, and this was by far the best. The quality of the pedicure, the friendliness of the staff, and the overall feel of the place was great. Their prices were great and adequate for the service given, but after I got this pedicure I wouldn't have minded paying more. I have only been to one nail salon while living in Houston because I fell in love with it, but today I decided to go to one closer to work. The experience was awful. I walked in and said I had an appointment for 4:15. He asked me what the service was for even though I told him on the phone. (Okay whatever no big deal) They gave me only 2 sets of colors to choose from. I picked a color for my nails and she came back with a completely different color and then argued with me and said it's the same as what I said. I then said I will just get white instead to make it easy. She started the water for the pedicure and never asked me if I wanted anything to drink even though the TWO other people in the salon had something to drink. She started with the pedicure and barely massages my legs and barely filed anything. It was the worst pedicure I've ever gotten. The front desk man came midway and started on my nails. He asked what length I wanted and I said I wanted to cut them a little. He cut them down to the bottom and never even asked me if that's how I wanted it. He started to do the dip and then when he used the shaved to make it thinner, he ruined the dip then had to do it again. He also made my nails so uneven while using the machine that I had to tell him to fix it. He never once touched my cuticles. He did the whole service while answering phones and leaving every so often. Since this was my first time here, I asked for a 20% discount because that's what his IG and Yelp said. He asked me where I had heard this as if I was wrong for asking. I WILL NEVER come back here. I rather go to my original salon in Houston, wait, and have a drink while I do so. This was the most terrible experience. Oh and no one walked in during my whole 1.5 hours there. Just me and the original two girls that were there before me. I got a great manicure by Jay. He was very nice and great at explaining things to me. He was also very patient with me because I have lots of questions sometimes. Lol He also did my nails fast and I loved them. I would definitely recommended him. My pedicure was done my Lee. She was very sweet and did a great job. She also did my wax. I was very happy. I got the Signature Spa Pedicure which is an extension of their basic pedicure, & is an additional treatment using citrus Sugar Glow exfoliating (or other scent of choice) to eliminate dead skin cells, a massage, hot towel wraps and polish of choice. I loved it. Very relaxing. For my polish I got both my nails and toes holographic. I've been wanting to get a holographic polish for so long and I finally found a place that does it and does it good. The place is very nice and clean as well and the prices are fair. If you also go a certain amount of times you get $5 off and if something's happens with your nails like they get chipped or fall off they will fix them for free. I absolutely love Venice Nails & Spa!! They have always done an amazing job every single time! Everyone is friendly and sweet. The owner, Chien, is almost always in the shop. I have been a customer here for over a year and will continue to use them as my nail salon. Unfortunately, today I did have a bad experience. I do not know the name of the lady who did my nails today because she didn't have a name tag, but she was one of the worst I've had. She was wearing a red blouse under her pink scrub top and had blonde highlights and fake Chanel earrings on. She was immediately smug to me when I stated I did not want a pedicure, then proceeded to try and talk me into some sparkling dip powder that I kindly said no thank you to. Not only was she very rough with my fingers, but it was the fastest and sloppiest job I've had from here. She left a lot of sticky stuff under my nails and pink powder on my fingers. I am a loyal customer and I won't let this lady ruin my experiences here. Next time, I will just call and make an appointment with Lee who has done my nails the last 2x I've been here. Lee is amazing!! She understood exactly what I wanted and was friendly and polite!! I hope management will just talk to their staff about politeness and taking their time. I asked the guy that was going to do my nails, if he could make sure to file my nails with a fIle instead of a drill, and he said he couldn't do it that his boss would get upset if they came off. I told him I'm wanting to grow my nails out and didn't want the damage from the drill. He got very loud and standing up in the salon making a scene to the point all the other nail stylists and customers started looking at him. The loud talking was unnecessary and if I had stayed I would've gone off on him. He was very unprofessional. When I lived in Seattle, my nail stylist had no issues filing my nails with a regular file and my nails never came off. So if you can't deviate and do nails in a different way, then he shouldn't be doing nails. Even if you use the drill, nails will still pop off or break. It's all in the way of applying and doing the nails. This is it, I'll never come back here. They're not the best nail techs anyways. Their work is very subliminal and not great at out. read more

Their customer service really stands out. Jay rmmrs all of his clients by name and their stories. They never try to pressure and up-sell you, and have a huge selection of SNS dipping powder, color powders and gel polishes. Even with their regular polish, they only carry the big brand names like OPI and Essie. My dipping powder is always as thin and natural looking like shellac, but last way longer.
