    Go Hawai'i! Go #37!
    Karen S.

Although I could have gotten the Cinco de Mayo ticket special for only $5, I opted for a limited view seat at $17, for the OSU vs. UHM baseball game. Best seats go for $20. Note: I think E 10 11 is a great seat and the limited view is not that limited at my height LOL ! Plus, you know I wanted to catch a foul ball with my bare hands...;). By game time, those $5 seats in the upper left were sold out! $10 parking - cc only. For bb, try for diamond head side stalls for a tad shorter walk to the Les Murakami Stadium. For dinner, I enjoyed: $10 combo- Burger, Garlic fries ($1 extra), and a 32 oz beverage ($4.50). Super filling, as the burger is huge, with fresh tomato and lettuce. Barely finished the yummy, crisp fries. There's also a kid's combo for $8 with a 16 oz beverage. There are lots of snack options and yay, ice cream! When the lines are long, you'll need to battle your way to the diamond head side for napkins and the like...(only one kitchen was open tonight-because it is a weekday, maybe? As both were open Friday and Saturday, I heard.). (It's the reason for the loss of that one star; it was a sold out game, after all.) I was in that long line for another beverage when I missed #37's great catch, for a third out, which was replayed several times, thankfully, and confirmed upon review! Memories: While it's been over a decade since my last bb game here, it's funny how the familiar sounds never change;)! Love it! And the Manoa mist arrived several times, barely touching E 10 11. So far, that is! Game still in progress, Go Hawai'i!!!

Baseball game at the University of Hawaii in Manoa, Honolulu, Hawaii... When my friends from the Rising Phoenix Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce) offered group tickets to the home game against Long Beach State, I wanted to go! I haven't been to the Les Murakami Stadium at UH in many years. It's located by the parking structure on the lower campus. The last time I went, it was during the daytime and it was quite warm. This was an evening game, starting at 6:35pm. I carpooled with my friends who had a free parking pass! I followed them to the entrance where our tickets were scanned. We passed through security easily because we had clear bags (12x12x6 inches). I checked out the concession stands... both of them seemed to have the same menu. I just wanted Garlic Fries. I got a bottle of Coca-Cola, too. Tip: if you want ketchup, go early because the dispensers were empty by the timebi decided to get food. The workers are so busy that they don't have time to refill them. The restroom was clean. There was no line when I went because it was an off-time. I did get to go into the Skybox because someone knew someone... we had connections! It was a bit stuffy in there. They kept the door open. I brought a jacket because the Tradewinds kept the open-air venue cool. My seat was in the 3rd level, section CC. It had a roof - protection against rain and sun! Overall it was a fun time! Our President, Ryan Mercado, sang the National Anthem and our State Song! Our 2024 TOYA (Ten Outstanding Young Americans) Winner, Xeana Kamalani Dung, threw the First Pitch! She won a Gold Medal in 2018 when she was the Pitcher for the Puerto Rican Women's Softball Team! Best of all The Bows beat The Beach 10 to 5! Let's Go Bows! Oh... another good thing about getting the hookups is that we got a chance to go on the field after the game and get a group photo!

Great ballpark! Family oriented atmosphere and great D1 baseball! Did not try the food, but beers were priced realistically for the island.

My family and I love coming here! Until I met my husband, I was never a fan of baseball, or any other sport for that matter.... But his family is made up of baseball, and all sports fanatics! So, needless to say.... here we are. When my husband was in college and needing to write a speech on something he really enjoyed, we decided that he'd write it on the history of baseball, the All-American sport. Through many nights of research and rehearsing, I had absorbed a lot of information, and also the an enjoyment for the game. We started attending games some years ago, whenever we could. Through the years, we've managed to make many memories here at Les Murakami Stadium. Now, as a family of 4, we intend to make these games into some really great family Outings. This past week, we tool our toddlers to their first UH Baseball game, and although the younger one is a little too young to know what she was seeing, our almost 3 year old son absolutely loved the experience! The stadium is awesome and well kept. There's just the right amount of vendors that the lines aren't overwhelmingly long, and the community of baseball fans are amazing! Since we're still dealing with some CVid mandates and stuff, Vaxx cards or negative tests are still required, and masks are still needed to enter at this time.

Post-covid review: During 2020 and 2021 it felt like I'd never see the inside of any stadium for a long time, if ever. Finally things are almost back to normal and I finally saw a baseball game today without any mask or vaccine requirements. Due to people telling me the concession stands would get too busy once the game started, we planned ahead and ate beforehand. We also arrived 1.25 hours early which is highly recommend because parking can get sold out. Since we got there early it was easy breezy no waiting to get in, no lines at any concession stand. We stocked up and enjoyed ourselves. Sure enough, once the game started the lines were 20+ people deep. Fortunately the restrooms were ok no waiting. I'd say the stadium was 60-70% capacity. Parking tip: always reverse in so you can make a quick getaway later. Also park near the exit vs closer to the stadium. The game turned out to be an awesome comeback and UH won. Good times

Signed up my son for the UH Rainbow Warrior Baseball Catcher's School at Les Murakami Stadium. It is only one hour sessions (10 days), but they cover a lot of things from technique to drills. There were about 16 boys ranging in age from 10 to 18. My son enjoyed the instruction and getting a chance to go on the field at the Les. We haven't been to a UH baseball game in awhile but we will make an effort to attend several games this season and support Coach Hill and the Warriors. Thanks to Coach Dallas and the players for putting on a first class baseball camp for young baseball players. Go Bows!

We are so happy to be able to attend the UH Baseball Games again. Last year was hard, no spectators . Come earlier, you will need to show Covid-19 Vaccination card or an online check-in code. I didn't check ahead of the game but I heard they check bags and you need to use a clear bag. I left my goodies in the car (so sad), but when we came I asked the guy collecting tickets and he told me they don't check the bags at this stadium. The food and drinks are the same. Tonight had a nice crowd, maybe 40% full. So happy to be back with friends and family.

Venue & Game - 5 stars Beer - 4 stars Food - 3 stars Aloha, haven't been back for a BB game in 3 years. UH game was super fun, there isn't a bad seat in the house. And yes UH won, whoohoo! Okay they serve GB marzen beer, nice. And there's GB garlic fries, nice. But really Sodexo you need to step your game up on the food. Chili, chicken tenders, big hot dog, all okay at best. If the food was better, I'd definitely come more often. We love going to games, just are foodies too. It's gotta be a full count experience.

    Cheers

Enjoyed our 1st in-person Employees' Club event in over two years. Organized by our Employees' Club committee in coordination with the UH staff. We enjoyed a nice tailgate event with food, drinks, music, games, prizes and face-to-face conversations with our fellow employees, before the game. Added bonus, the UH baseball team won their Saturday game! Friendly staff and accommodating to our needs. Look forward to another sports event.

Hey batter batter batter! Baseball has got to be one of the slowest moving games, aside from golf. But I personally feel that watching sports live is definitely more exciting than watching it on TV, and baseball is no exception For me though, the thought of garlic fries, popcorn and hotdogs is what gets me amp'ed up, not necessarily the game itself. And it's nice to indulge at this stadium, where they don't charge you an arm and a leg like at some other venues (Blaisdell Arena, Stadium).

Bases are loaded! Hawaii vs. Wichita St.

I love this stadium! It's located near the parking structure at UH Manoa. I enjoy the games but mainly go there for the food! It's yummy and super cheap! They serve beer (Bud Light, Heineken, Gordon Biersch), popcorn, churros, hot dogs, pizza, fries, garlic fries, saimin, nachos, teri burgers. Oh, and you have to check out the Warrior Dog. It's a ginormous hot dog that can't even fit on the paper tray it's served on. It's always a good time at the stadium. Go Warriors!

We went there for the playground but there wasn't any spaces in front of the playground so we had to walk just a little to get there. It's a really nice park to go to if you're in the area. They have a nice field, playground, basketball courts, and pickle ball courts. The playground is a little different from others because it has a zip line for kids. You hang onto a handle and with enough momentum you can swing yourself to the other side. My daughter loved that when we went to a park in California and we just never saw one of those in Hawaii. But now we know... They do exist! The playground is also in the shade so you won't get fried when waiting for your kids to finish playing. And there is a bench to sit and rest while you wait. Great park, we hope to go back there soon.

My husband works for the DOE and wanted to "check out" this park last year. Although we live in Moiliili, the drive is quick since it's right off the freeway. So glad we did... It's now one of our top 3 parks to take the boys! The facilities are well maintained, shaded by the huge trees that offer parents and kids shelter from the midday sun. My oldest son (4.5yrs) loves the swings and riding his scooter around the basketball and tennis courts. My youngest (3rd) enjoys jumping off the concrete benches and mastering the playground (which is more elaborate than the usual city park playgrounds around town). There's spinning chairs, slides, a mini zip line, drums, and chimes that kids can make music with! So cool! Parking is fairly easy to find around the park perimeter. Area has been consistently safe when we take the kids (about once every couple of weeks). Great for all ages but adult supervision is still recommended esp for the littles.

"Petrie Park- an oasis in Kaimuki"…read more Great little community park next to Waialae elementary school. They have outdoor tennis, volleyball and basketball courts and a nice grassy field for little league baseball games and practices. Like all facilities while still under pandemic restrictions, be sure to follow the protocols in effect at the time of your visit. The views from the upper part of the park on 20th Ave. are quite nice, especially during sunrise. During normal in-school class days, most of the street between the school and the park is closed. On the mauka side there is access to a couple of parking stalls for your use when using the park. An interesting side note is that the park's rec. bldg. next to the children's playground equipment area used to be an open pavillion that was one of the coolest places to sit. The tradewinds would roll through with a sweet breeze as you sat and kicked back to daydream during the lazy days of summer.

I will have to admit I have a soft spot for this park, as my friends & I use to hang out at this park during our Intermediate, errr............or should I say middle school dayz. Petrie Community Park is not overly big, but it has a little of something for everyone (for all ages). Petrie park has several basketball courts, tennis courts, a volleyball court, a jungle gym for the kiddies, and a large field for kids to play soccer, baseball, as well as football. There are also several benches & picnic tables on the park premises, should you wanna eat there, or watch the kiddies. In my recent visits here, I could clearly see that the field could use some water, as the grass was pretty brown & dried up...........but of course summer is just around the corner, so I guess maybe the city is trying to save water? There is also a office pavilion, as well as a restroom at Petrie park, but be careful if you come here at night, as I saw some sketchy element hanging & loitering around the restroom area. There is no private parking lot for this park, but not to fret as there is a lot of street parking within the Kaimuki neighborhood. Through the years, not much has changed at this park since I used to hang here as a kid, but glad to see folks still bring kids here to enjoy this nice community park.

There's a big baseball/softball field on the corner and the gym is located further up Lanakila Ave. They might have other activities in the area but I'm not too sure. They have a small parking lot located between the baseball field and the gym. Otherwise you can park on the street or across Lanakila Ave., there is a health center that you can park at on certain days that they're closed. I've been here a bunch of times either to play volleyball or basketball... mostly volleyball. I used to play in some tournaments on Sundays and weeknights over here and parking can get busy. Now I just go on Saturday afternoons to play in the open court with friends. It switches back and forth between here and Palolo Gym. PROS: Pros are that it's located in the middle between the eastside of the island and the westside. They also have padded flooring. The floor looks like wood but if you actually press down on the floor you can see that it gives in a little. They did this renovation a few years back. So if you fall down or go for a dive, hopefully your chances of getting back up in one piece is on the higher side. It's not super soft to the point where when you bounce a ball you can tell a difference. It's hardly noticeable. There's also quite a bit of parking. I've never had trouble with this even when it's super busy. CONS: This place can get really hot. I don't think it's well ventilated. It's also a small gym with one full court and two smaller courts running perpendicular across the full court and bleachers on one side of the gym. That's all the space you'll have. Maybe a few feet more on the perimeter. So it's a small gym which can make it stuffy and hot if they're a lot of people in there. Final Comments: This place is your typical district park gym but a bit on the smaller side. But the convenience of the location and the padded flooring is nothing to complain about. Bathrooms are okay. None the cleanest or the dirtiest. Overall Rating: "EXCELLENT" Great place with okay facilities. But still great nonetheless.

Just feels like an extended playground for the kids who go to school here and for the community to play and relax here too. Located within the Kaulauwela Elementary School, this community park is centrally placed off of Liliha Street in the heart of Kalihi. With the Liliha Public library parked in front of Liliha Street and Liliha Square shopping center on the other side, the quiet street of Kaulauwela Place, right next to the public bus stop and right next to the H-1 East freeway entrance on the right. I guess nobody really notices in the course of daily life, but if you are in need of a respite from all the hustle and bustle of city living, playing basketball may be the best fit for you here at this community park. Might not call this a community park though, since it does sit within elementary school property. Although I do see signage that tells me otherwise, I can't be too sure nowadays. This community park can be forgotten within the grand scheme of things, but the kids use this community resource as a means to enrich their lives by being socially and physically active. That's what kids needs to do. Grow and be nurtured while learning the basics that will shape their lives in the future - which includes years of dreadful schooling. There are water fountains here as well as well maintained playground equipment here, so there is really no excuse to come and rekindle your inner child here once in a while. I remember swinging on a swing and it brought back vivid memories. It was great! Hoping to be back soon, but with the fast pace of life, I doubt it. It can be problematic here at night, so best be careful. I haven't been around at night, but be aware of your surroundings and you should be alright. I wouldn't be caught dead in Kalihi or anywhere late at night, so there is probably a homeless problem there - along with some sort of drug thing too. Come enjoy during the day and its all good. Help rekindle the inner child that you may or may not have lost and you'll find yourself in better happier days. Playing basketball helps too. This community park is adequately maintained, so there's not much you can say about being dirty. It's good. Support local! B
