I recently visited Mystic Rose. I would give the ladies working there five stars for their customer…read moreservice and giving us information regarding their classes. (You can find their class schedule on the web and I would definitely say that is worth a look-see!) There is parking right in front of the store and it is just off S Virginia St, easy to find. The reason for the three stars has to do with inventory. This is not a large shop so one has to consider space available for merchandise. However, there was not much of a selection and the prices were fairly high. I realize that it is becoming harder to run a brick and mortar store front everyday, but I found the merchandise to be "stale" and dated. (ie: no latest tarot decks, books, etc.) I also felt like if I were to return in a month or so, it would look much as it did the day I visited, with the same merchandise in the same place. It may be that "Mystic Rose" concentrates more on the classes and readings and such, but that's not why I came. I miss the well-stocked metaphysical shops of the past and would love to see a sample tarot deck or book before I purchase it... I guess those days are gone.

A small but complete shop of jewelry, crystals, books, oracle cards, divination tools, and more. I…read morewas lucky enough to visit Mystic Rose just before Christmas, simply because the Carson City friend who picked me up at the airport needed to stop at this store. I had time to peruse the selections thoroughly. I particularly enjoyed the large selection of crystals, and the availability of guides and books that explain how to use the crystals. I ended up buying a hunk of Angelite, and I'm happy that I did. Their selection of divination cards is small, but, again, a nice variety. In particular, I was pleased to see that they carry the Animal Wisdom Cards. I complimented the store owner on this, and we had a nice conversation about the uses and power of this particular deck. There are a few more items upstairs. There is a large second room that is used for classes. I only had a few short days in Nevada, which precluded taking any classes. If I were in Reno for a longer visit, I would definitely want to sample a class or a reading. Small, yes, but a solid, representative selection of various items. You'll never find everything in the world here, but you'll get a nice variety and/or introduction.

Purchased two books, they came in the mail quickly. Peeled off tape holding box closed to easily…read morere-use the box in the future. Unfortunately, the softcover book to be gifted to my sister had two diagonal bumpy tracks right through the title of the book. No - I did not use a tool to open the box, plus, it was the book on the bottom, not the top book. I seldom return but prepped the book and box and got ready to buy a post office shipping label, then thought, hmmm, I'll call to make sure they know that I don't want a refund, just a new unmarked book. The woman on the phone was helpful. Three days later the gift book arrived, unmarked !! Thank you Barnes Noble staff.

This is the most well-stocked Barnes & Noble bookstore I have ever been in. Their fiction section…read morewas incredibly diverse and had a lot of my favorite authors. The shelves were brimming and there was plenty of staff on hand to help find things and answer questions. Normally, I am an independent bookstore supporter and I do still buy the majority of my books from smaller independent booksellers. Unfortunately, I haven't found an independent bookstore in Nevada -- North or South -- that compares to the likes of Vroman's in Pasadena (if you have a recommendation, I am all ears). That said, if you are in the Reno area and want a brick and mortar bookstore with a huge selection, this is the place. And they do offer some decent discounts, so keep an eye out for the books that have been marked down. I was able to pick up a first edition of Patti Smith's new memoir at 50% off!

We recently (July 2026) purchased business cards from Reno Print Store (RPS) and the whole…read moreexperience was good from start to finish. My husband had a business card on file from a previous purchase, but he wanted several changes and RPS was up to the task. The original card was one-sided, and he wanted changes to that front side and also to add graphics to the back of the card, making it a two-sided colored-ink card. There were several back-and-forth emails to confirm exactly what he wanted and to look at proofs. On one of the exchanges, RPS had taken the extra step of showing us an option we had not considered and ended up using. Both text and graphics are very sharp, even though some had to be made small to fit on the card. Customer service was always quick and courteous. If you need any sort of printing done, we highly recommend Reno Print Store. NOTE: Regarding the photo, take into consideration it's been saved to my computer in a few different formats and I had to use the snipping tool as well. In real life the images are very sharp and clear; I added the photo to provide an idea of the complexity of the work RPS can do.

Stopped in to have several name badges made for our non-profit…read more Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy to do business with and not taken aback by my lack of camera ready art work. I guess I hadn't realized how much simple name badges had gone up in price since purchasing several years ago. I remember the last time I purchased from a company that was local and unfortunately owners have retired, so that's no longer business option. Previously badges were between eight and $10, today the estimate was around $22 apiece. Now that's quite an uptick, especially for a nonprofit, to be coming up with for 13 badges. i went ahead and placed the order, because we do need the badges. But I think I might shop around further if I need another set made.
