Kept popping up on my searches in Wooster, OH. The lady at Bigby coffee recommended giving them a try. They don't sell donuts due to them being right behind them. They offer plain, white, & cinnamon (I think it was called?) We got white & cinnamon. Definitely worth a try. I enjoyed the cinnamon/sugar donut. Yummy but very messy with all the droppings of sugar everywhere. Lol recommend not eating in a car or over a bag. lol read more

Tasty and fresh Highly recommend the sugar donuts. They are great fresh out of the box. Sometimes you even get to eat them warm. I first tried them at a dirt track and was glad to see them close to my town. Sad that the fairs arent able to happen this year but glad they are opening random places so you can get your fair food fix. read more

So Ignite Brewing in Barberton used Lerch's donuts to brew two beers, which were pretty good. On the release weekend for the beers they had Lerch's onsite selling their awesome donuts. My wife had the cinnamon sugar ones and I had the blueberry with powder sugar. They were so soft and cake like. They were killer. read more

Usually I don't stop at establishments like this, but a friend told me that Lerch's made some of the best donuts. My family and I ordered a mixed dozen (plain, cinnamon/sugar, and powder sugar). When I opened the box in the car I suddenly became a fan. When I put the donut in my mouth I suddenly became a greater fan. The donuts were soft, fluffy, warm goodness in my mouth. My mouth thanked me :D. I'd suggest eating as many as you can while they are warm. I ate more of the donuts when I got home about an hour later and they are definitely better warm. The donuts here are tasty and affordable. My favorite was the cinnamon sugar donut. They were tasty and slightly crisp on the outside. The donuts are 3 for $2. The donuts are cake donuts and definitely not too sweet. The customer service could've been better. I was able to enjoy their donuts at the Ramseyer Sunflower festival and they were extremely friendly to everyone else but then when my partner and I ordered. They were really cold, I assume because I wasn't white. I can't say for certain but being a minority in the US, I just know sometimes when I'm not wanted. This business has been open since 1933 so I'm not surprised if they still have backwards views. read more

We stumbled across Lerch's several years ago, and I don't think the dozen we bought lasted until we got home. Best donuts ever. So we made a point to stop there last week when we were in Wooster again. What a disappointment. The cinnamon-sugar were soggy and not very flavorful, but I guess that wasn't surprising when they were taken out of a tub of coating where they had sat for who knows how long. The plain frycakes had better texture, but still a little soggy, and they were greasy with an undertaste of what my wife described as "day-old chinese food." We won't be back. read more

"You Rang?" Located next to a mostly abandoned shopping strip, this place is definitely reminiscent of the Addams Family. Was told these were the best donuts on earth. Well the skeptical guy in me thought it was a typical overrated, "I lived in Wooster all my life" sentiment. And being that I am NOT a donut guy by any means, I must admit these were killer. Best donuts ever. And I don't wheat, so that's tellin ya somethin. Now, typically you'll find lerch's donuts sold out of a somewhat sketchy lookig trailer. That's ok. SEe my first statement. They come in thre flavors, regular, cinnamon, and powdered sugar. It doesnt' amtter which you get, because you'll end up buying them all anyway. Crack, I say unto you. . these donuts are half a step away from crack,and just thinkin about them is giving me the trembles. good thing I love in Boston now or I'd weigh 500lbs. so drive around until you find the trailer, belly up to the bar and have one for me. . Always great & made fresh. The cinnamon sugar is my go to, however if you get a chance to get the blueberry- get a dozen of those! The only downfall is that they are usually set up in Wooster, so I only get them once a year or so when they are at a local fair or festival that's a little closer. read more

We visited them at the Wooster Rib fest. Oh my, these donuts are excellent! The day we visited they had blueberry. We bought 3 and before the end of the night we were back for a dozen for the hotel room/breakfast the next day. Stop and try them, you will not be disappointed. read more

I think all I really need to say is that I can eat an entire box in one sitting. They literally melt in your mouth!!! The best time to eat them is hot out of the fryer! Today (1 pm-9/4/18), I was so excited that we were near the wagon at Rt 585. I have eaten these donuts since 1948!! It was always the last stop before we left the Wayne County Fair. Of course, we stopped today to get donuts and waffles. They were awful!! Now they are in the trash at the cost of $15. They both tasted of old grease which I abhor! And makes me sick. This is the second time that this situation has happened. PLEASE don't ruin a wonderful product by trying to save money by not changing the grease or being too lazy to do so. read more

Best donuts in the world. Actually. Make the detour! State fair style, the kind that you know are fresh by the grease stains in the bag. They're doughy and cakey, but with a nice crispy outside. City of Wadsworth posted on their site that Lerchs Donuts would be in Wadsworth downtown weekend of April 12, 13 2019. Excited to visit that weekend anyway, we were going to stop and get some. Since they advertise fresh donuts , etc. We stopped on Fri 12th after lunch. A young man on his phone was in the booth. Already had donuts lined up without any sugar, etc. We asked for a dozen of 1/2 sugar and 1/2 cinnamon. He grabbed UNDER the counter and literally plopped the box on the counter and said, there you go! No idea how long they were under there for one thing. My daughter opened the box and stated " There is an ant in the box, we would like a fresh one" He then grabbed another box "under the counter". It was plopped on the counter and he stated, "ya been having trouble with them since I got here." Where was the FRESH ??? part of these donuts?? We wont be back or try any other Lerch's donuts. I can live without them. Somebody brings a box in and I'm likely to pass it up, even if I'm halfway to starving. That is UNLESS it's a Lerch's. I don't know what it is about those little rings from heaven, but I CRAVE them! For me it's all about the cinnamon, but a lot of my family members crave the sugar. They also offer plain, but I'm suspicious of people who buy plain donuts - not sure what's going on there. Maybe they're trying to save calories or carbs or something,,, but sheesh- it's a DONUT! There's no such thing as one that's good for you. Just order a yummy sugary one and go for a walk or something later. Lerch's can be difficult to find. They aren't in a bin at the gas station like some donuts I know. And let's face it, is that really a dignified life for a donut anyway? Lerch's are sold out of trailers. Yep. Trailers. Like what you find at fairs. Actually, that's one of the places to find Lerch's - they have two locations at the Wayne County Fair every year - In September, AFTER school starts, which still is weird for me. The kids get a Fair Day off school. Because of the whole trailer thing, Lerch's are a seasonal product... they don't make their employees freeze in a trailer in the middle of winter. So once it warms up in spring, until it gets too cold in the fall, they're out there. My location is on the corner of rt. 585 and Portage Rd. (a.k.a. Back Orrville Rd. Wooster loves to have roads change names to confuse the non-locals) in the old Hawkins grocery store Parking Lot - across the street from Aldi's. (****The address at the top of this page is just the business owner's home address I believe - I drive down that road all the time and there aren't any donuts sold there!*****). Oh- and after you pick up your Lerch's (I usually get a dozen- half cinnamon, half sugar), head down Portage Rd. to Melrose Orchard (on your right just past the light at Melrose St.) and pick up a gallon of the best apple cider you'll ever have.
