I am from out of town and was here for work. Decided to try out this place as I drove around downtown. I was extremely satisfied and very pleasantly surprised. As I was looking to order my pizza, this gorgeous woman helped me. I ordered the Filie and didn't know how to pronounce it, and she kindly explained that it was named after her. The ambience in this restaurant feels just like some Italian ma n pa spot. They were playing Italian music and had lots of Italian decor with brick walls. Definitely wish I lived here. THE CRUST! Hit Leo's for dinner on a trip from KC to MI and we were hungry when we rolled in. Ordered the bosco sticks and they were gooey, garlicky and warm. We ordered the stuffed crust cheese pizza, and the Alfredo pizza. The crust is like Chicago deep dish but with a crisp cracker-style crunch. So delicious. My son proclaimed it the best pizza he's ever had. I did knock off one star because it took a long time to get our food- people who arrived after us got their food before us (did I mention we were hungry?) we will be stopping here again on our treks east to MI. read more

We were passing by on the interstate and craving pizza. So glad we found Leo's. It's absolutely adorable. Quaint and homey feeling. Reminds me of the places we used to go in southern Illinois as a kid. Everyone there was so friendly and the food was obviously freshly prepared with care and pride. I used to love Leo's growing up in Jacksonville. It was always a staple of great pizza. However the last couple times we ordered delivery the pizza has arrived cold. I ordered a single topping thin crust pizza simple well I asked that thay bring it out to my car 4 me because I am handicapped and have trouble walking well they agreed so after waiting and hour I called them back and thay told me it was on its way well right away someone came outside and gave me my pizza well thay charged me a delivery fee to littery walking it 10 feet tomorrow truck and on top of that it was ICE COLD so I wonder how long sat???? Delicious Bruchetti though would of preferred it on a more crispier type bread like baguette instead of what was like halved lightly toasted sub roll bread but the tomato mix itself was delicious. Portobello mushroom ravioli very good and lasagna was just OK, no consistency to it. We did not try the pizza, however, family friends did and it looked amazing as it came out and they said it was delicious. I'd return and try pizza next time for sure. Driving through Jacksonville. Leo's Pizza was recommended by the hotel front desk. As I drove there it wasn't a pull into the lot type of parking. I had to drive way around to get into the lot. I ordered baked Mostaccioli to go. I asked the order taker if I can have some crushed pepper, she said it was a dollar for a packet. She offered to give me the jar and I can sprinkle it on my dish. I never heard of charging for a packet of pepper. I was given no napkins either, maybe there was a cost for that. the food was just okay, I've had much better. It included marinara sauce which had no taste to it. I'm glad I added the crushed pepper. I observed one hostess taking care of two different rooms. I wouldn't go back. Absolutely amazing! This pizza is the closest thing to getting pizza in Italy itself! I felt like I was back in rome! The crust is perfection the sauce is delicious and they are very generous with the toppings. If you need a good pizza look no further. My go to is a xl special with a small pepperoni. We tried the stuffed crust pizza or as they called it the inverted pizza. My kids claim it was the best pizza they've ever had. It was unique and delicious. It took forever to come and we were quite hungry by the time it arrived. We're talking like over an hour. Hence the four stars. But Leo's pizza is quite delicious and I wouldn't miss it. The crust was Chris and cracker like. Overall the pizza has the appearance of a Chicago deep dish but it's quite unique. The crust was really fantastic. Leo's Pizza came through on a snowy day when most places were closing due to weather. We stopped in town to find a place to stay and get off the icy roads. After getting a hotel room we set out to find something to eat. We couldn't find the parking lot under all the snow and ended up going to the wrong door, near the kitchen. We were warmly welcomed and taken to the dining room. Service was great and the delicious pizza hit the spot after a long drive in bad weather. I know it was busy and there were several big groups but the waitress was not on point tonight. Glasses sat empty for almost 10 minutes. We got our pizzas with no plates and before salads. When salad finally came out no silverware was brought out. I had to find a waitress to get silverware. Warning! Don't bother entering this restaurant. They messed up our order and chewed me out for demanding to remove from the bill items we ordered and did not receive. The pizza arrived with few toppings and underbaked. My 82 year old mother was mistreated by a woman claiming to be the person in charge. Probably didn't catch them on their best night AND the pizza was delivered, so is it fair to really rate a delivered pizza? I Ordered a thin crust bruschetta topped pizza. Definitely not thin crust as I define thin, but the toppings were tasty. The crust had a bit of an anemic color and not a great bite, this is usually indicative of a older dough that the yeast has gased out. The side salad was as it should be, plenty of it, and a solid italian dressing. I wouldn't let my review scare you off as this place has some pretty good reviews and seems to be a local favorite. read more

Good quality Italian restaurant at the square in Jacksonville. Came here with a softball team late one evening. We were told ahead of time that food orders were running about an hour but they could get appetizers quick. We were seated in an outdoor courtyard immediately and had drinks and appetizers within minutes. The dinner orders ranged from deep dish pizzas to various pasta dishes. Surprisingly all were served at the same time hot. The sauces were homemade. Everything was what one would expect from a family Italian restaurant.
