Do Not Use Stanley Steamer, Use Any Other Company In Lawrence. They Lie About Their Prices and…read moreMisrepresent themselves. Our Carpet was perfect only lived in the place 8 months and a Stanley Steamer Representative Was cleaning the neighbor townhouse, the exact same floor plan as ours- he told us the price would be $159 and that they clean all the units in our complex. So based on his quote we set up the cleaning for the end of the month, without even checking out competitors pricing (which I always compare) but base on what we were quoted we went ahead and set the appointment. They get there today and say. It is now $207.00. I was very confused and upset by this change of price. I called the owner Pat and he said too bad, this is how it is and it does not matter that we were quoted a different price by one of His Employees. I told Pat this I will be filing with the better business bureau, which he said he is a member of- I am sure with a bad rating with this kind of scam going on, he said ok. So I will be filing and doing reviews on any and every website including Angie's list to prevent future customers from getting ripped off by this shady business. Just save your self the headache. Ace cleaned my air ducts in April. Ever since then, when the fan kicked on, I got a whiff of…read moresomething musty. I finally called my HVAC company, since I was worried that they might have clogged the drain, and found that Ace had punched a hole in the sheet metal to access the duct in the garage, and the plug that they put in the hole did not fit tightly. So every time my air-conditioner kicked on it was pulling in stale air from the garage. It cost me $90 for them to put a 6 inch strip of duct tape on. I'm not very happy about that. Also, when Ace came they did not tell me that it would take them four hours. I went outside in the yard since there was equipment everywhere and got a terrible sunburn. A warning about the length of time would have been nice. After they left, I found an 8-foot scratch in my hardwood floors where something had been dragged. These employees definitely were not gentle or considerate of my home environment. Basically, my ducts are clean so I'm giving them a two. The additional $90 to cover a hole And The to-be-determined cost of repairing the scratch certainly do not put Ace in the economical a reasonable price category.

We hired Ace to clean our ducts, and I was very impressed with their service. Of course, I cannot…read moreinspect the insides of the ducts, but I know that they worked very hard, using a very impressive air filter and a compressed-air device to go in and loosen the dirt. They discovered a length of duct about 8 feet long with deteriorating insulation on the inside; they came back and spent several hours cleaning that out and stabilizing the surface. All at no extra cost! This was after they were already the lowest quote by a good margin. 5 stars, definitely.

The technician arrived on time, and worked quickly- too quickly…read more I told him that our carpet had never been cleaned, and that it was roughly ten years old. He kept telling me how nice it looked, and how he thought it wasn't very dirty. He was in and out of the house very quickly, and we had two sets of stairs, and several rooms to clean. The carpet didn't look much better when he was done, and two months later, it looks much worse that if we hadn't had them "cleaned" at all. I was hoping the "zero residue" would prevent this, but it turns out the only difference is that they use purified water. We are going to have to hire another company to come in and clean properly just to get the carpet to look as good as it did before Zerorez came out to "clean" it.
