This place is very good. I can't think of another place that has arepas in the area. I've had the chicken and avocado one. I've also had a calzone that was quite good. I don't remember the name of the Venezuelan dish I had, but it was solid. My girlfriend spoke highly of the arepas she had that had eggs and peppers. They looked delicious. We had tres leches cake and we devoured it. read more

Ordered delivery via DoorDash. The Mediterranean pizza was delicious! They unfortunately forgot to add the extra toppings I ordered, but the pizza quality was excellent (and it's m favorite kind of thin crust). The garlic knots weren't as garlicky as I'd hoped for, but the marinara was excellent, and who doesn't love bread knots? The golfeados were delightful. I've never had these before, but I will be ordering them again. As a fan of things like apple pie with sharp cheddar melted over, these were a natural fit (basically a sweet roll with melted mozz on top). Sprinkle a tiny bit of salt over and the flavor *pops*! read more

Nice and clean restaurant with calm, quiet atmosphere. Staff very friendly, but service was sparse. Empty glasses went unnoticed. Paid $2 for side salad and chose the Caesar, which was simple but delicious, with generous pieces of Parmesan and a tasty, homemade dressing. I ordered the Pabellon Criollo, marked as a traditional Venezuelan dish with beef, black beans, rice, avocado, sweet fried plantain and a fried egg. I was offered "hot sauce " but declined. I was not offered any other expected accompaniment. This could have been good with some salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and tortillas or even chips. As it was served, it was bland, dry, and just plain boring. It's Venezuelan, not Mexican, but the same palette of flavors. It needed a lot of finishing. The beef was okay, like an economy pot roast seasoned with salt and little else. The black beans tasted and looked straight from the can. The white rice was cooked well but absolutely plain. The avocado slices were ripe, no problem. The fried plantain was tasty, and the fried egg was perfectly over-easy. I seriously doubt this dish is served so naked in Venezuela. It could have been pretty good with the right extras. Not great, but pretty good. Server was nice but we didn't see her very much, and it wasn't crowded at all. She once came by to serve another table and asked if everything was good, but she ignored our empty water glasses on the edge of our table. We don't fuss over disappointing food or service- we just take notice for next time. For Leonore's, there won't be a next time. read more

We ate here twice this week while visiting Roanoke because the food was sooo good. I highly recommend the wings.....best I've ever had and they're not fried. Also had the Pata Pata arepa which was amazing. This place is only a couple blocks out of the central business district, and we'll worth the short walk. read more

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Roanoke, hands down. The service is top notch and the atmosphere and ambiance, makes you want to come back for more. Matt, who is one of the managers and server is the reason why we come. His knowledge of the cuisine and drinks is very impressive. He's very attentive and always has a smile. We come with friends and family and we are never disappointed. Matt is now a part of our family and everyone that works there are very friendly. The food is so good and the portion size is more than enough, season to perfection. The pizza is unbelievable, and I'm a native New Yorker. You will not be disappointed!!! Love Love Love this restaurant!!! Caesar Salad, the best. Tres Leches Cake, to live for!! read more

Delicious pizza, wings, and salad. Arepas always hit the spot too. This is restaurant can do no wrong in my eyes. Definitely recommend for a date night, or even to grab a drink. They have a dining side and bar side. Service is always spectacular! Matt and Kachina are some of the fastest and charismatic bartenders/servers in the area. read more

After reading many reviews of this restaurant, my family and I were excited to order it to our hotel while we're in town just for the night. However, the pasta was very disappointing. My kids got the Alfredo so even though the sauce didn't taste very flavorful to me, they were okay with it. The pizza was bland. The real complaints were with the chicken Marsala which the sauce was literally like just warm milk water. Zero flavor whatsoever and was so watery it spilled all over everything in the bag. The chicken parm sauce was also very watery and no flavor. For an almost $100 meal, we are really disappointed and should've just stuck with fast food or something that would've been much better for less money. Don't recommend this place at all. read more

Order was wrong. I ordered a large pizza, they gave me a medium and insisted it was right. I literally had the online receipt showing I ordered a large. The problem was with their website, but I still only got the medium. They also made the wrong size and I had to wait an extra 15 minutes for them to make a new one. Customer service was terrible. read more

In town for a Convention, and this was the cheapest non-chain pizza on Doordash. It was terrible. It's like they had no idea how to season a pizza. Bland and really greasy. The leftovers were also horrible. The Tres Leches cake was really good though. Maybe just order the Venezuelan food? read more

Very good food for the price. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good Italian cuisine.

After reading the reviews for Leonore, I was really wanting to try this restaurant for dinner. The restaurant was nice and quiet, surprisingly for a Saturday there were only 4 other diners there. As I love Lasagna, I ordered the beef version along with an add on Caesar Salad. The salad was large and the dressing delicious. Once my lasagna arrived, my meal went downhill from here. The lasagna was burnt on top, which I'm sorry, I don't like anything like this burnt. And extra cheese had been put on top to try to hide this fact. I had to peel off the first layer of lasagna noodles to get to the rest. My first bite had a bay leaf in it, which I did catch before eating. The lasagna was very cheesy, but that was about it. The sauce would have been good on a pizza, but I didn't care for it on the lasagna. As for the "garlic" bread, I don't consider toasted bread with maybe a hint of garlic as "garlic" bread. By this time a drink refill would have been nice but, alas this didn't happen. Our server was very nice and friendly but I think she was spread thin and handling many other jobs as I didn't see much of her. So, I can put this restaurant down as a "been there, done that" and I hope any other diner has better luck then I did eating here. read more

Went here for restaurant week. Thought we would give it a try. It was good. We started with salads and then had the chicken parm and a Venezuelan dish of beef black beans and rice. It was tasty. Better than the other Venezuelan place in town. This is a good place to grab a bite on those nites you dont want anything fancy. Just good simple food that is filling. The atmosphere is basic, but the service excellent. We will be back for sure. Need to try the pizza. It looked good. And if it is anything like the garlic knots we started with I am sure it will be tasty as well. read more

Bottom line up front: cozy restaurant, good food, and friendly, and efficient wait staff, over all a good experience. While visiting Roanoke for the first time with my family someone suggested visiting Leonore for dinner. We were parked by Market Square so it was a short walk. When we arrived we were seated almost immediately. The waiter was great, told about the different arrepas combinations, even pointed out the ones that might be a bit out there for our palettes as a friendly warning. The food was brought out quickly, the drinks stayed full, the server was attentive but not overbearing. The food was pretty good, one of us tried a combination that really didn't work for us (but hey, we had been warned). Overall, a good night out to eat with great service, something that is getting harder and harder to find. read more

Always a great time here. I love their lasagna and the chicken parmigiana is a very close second. Friendly staff and good atmosphere

Happened to be in Roanoke and stumbled upon this restaurant. The Venezuelan food was excellent. My friend and I shared empanadas, plantains, and arepas. Everything was just texturally and flavorfully fantastic. The empanadas weren't as impressive as the arepas and plantains, but were still decent. The arepas just melted in my mouth and are the definition of comfort food. The service was good, especially considering that my friend dropped and broke a plate! It was a little weird when our server wanted to charge us for accidentally bringing us an appetizer portion of plantains when we only ordered the side portion, but his manager fixed it quickly and was super friendly. I really hope I'll be able to come back and eat here again at some point. read more

The chicken parmesan was not great. The sauce tasted weird and there were very sharp bits of something in there. It looked ugly too. The garlic knots tasted a little bit like fish, but were soft and otherwise tasted fine. It all smelled quite foul. They did send me the wrong cake though. I ordered a tres leches, but they sent me some sort of brown cake with whipped cream on top. Despite not being what I ordered, the cake was certainly tasty and incredibly moist. Not sure what cake it is, though. read more

My family and I went to Roanoke for a long weekend and discovered this little treasure! My family shared a pizza with pepperoni, sausage and black olives. Super delicious and fresh! Just picked up a Stromboli to go. Got back to my office and it was burnt to the point I could not eat it. I cannot believe they would serve that or let that leave their kitchen. I like my hamburgers chargrilled but not my Stromboli! Won't be going back. Beware and always check your order(although you shouldn't have to , should have pride in the product they serve). It was part of a larger order so it wasn't checked before leaving. Picture attached. read more

Pepito Sandwich!!!! One of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. Huge toasted Italian roll piled high with grilled chorizo, chicken, steak, and topped with cheese and other delicious toppings. It is a must-try. We stopped over in Roanoke for a night and found this little gem via Yelp. Everything was excellent, including the aforementioned Pepito sandwich, plus the arepas are wonderful and the wife got the vegetable lasagna, which was great, and don't forget to try the house made Chimichurri. Our server, Matt, was outstanding and helped us to navigate the extensive menu. If we are ever in the area again, we will be sure to come back. read more

We stopped by here after searching online for restaurants in the area. The food was incredible and the atmosphere very family friendly. Our server was so kind and really made our experience better. My daughter has sensory concerns and my son is a toddler, but the lighting and volume inside the restaurant catered to both. Again, the food was exceptional and affordable. It was plated and cooked with care. I plan to take my family on my birthday this summer. (We live out of town). We are happy to know where we want to go when in Roanoke. read more

Food: 3 Service: 4 Ambience: 3 Date/Time 7/5/2016 8pm This was a cute little place with a basic setting of chairs/tables and booths. Nothing spectacular but clean with tables spread apart nicely. The server was friendly and very helpful with the menu. She checked back often and filled drinks. The Reina Pepiada arepa was ok with just a little too much mayo. And, the garlic knots were a little on the bland side, but decent with the sauce. Overall it's a decent place to eat and the service is good, so I'd recommend it if you're in the area. read more

First time in Roanoke and I decided to come here because of the good Yelp reviews. I was glad I did! I had the Reina Pepiada arepa. I've had this homemade before, I don't think the restaurant version was as good as that, but was ok. Creamy avocado and chicken salad stuffed into a corn flour bread (similar to a thick corn tortilla or what pupusas are made of). I like a lot of flavor and spice, so it was too plain for my taste but if you like simple, it's a good choice! If I did get it again, I would request the chipotle sauce instead of the pink sauce (pink sauce appeared to be a mayo and ketchup mixture). My dad loved his lasagna- which is saying something because he is picky! I did try it and it had almost a salsa-tomato flavor to it, which added a different, richer element- not bland at all, sauce was good. Recommend! Even the one bite I tried hit the spot. Brothers both got the Philly cheese steak sandwiches and no complaints. They always get Philly cheese steaks so they would have complained if they were not good. For dessert we ordered a piece of Tres Leche to share. That was the only bad thing I have to say about this place. Very dry Tres Leche so I was disappointed. It is supposed to be a rich and moist cake but it wasn't even moist enough to count as a regular cake. Don't get it. Best thing about this place- great prices for a nice, quiet atmosphere (we went Friday 2pm) and good food. Liked the Italian and Venezuelan options because it was a good place to go when you had various tastes, like my family. I would definitely go again! read more
