The delicious vegetarian (eggplant) lasagna was baked in it's own dish with stringy, juicy mozzarella. The garlic bread that accompanied it was toasted just right. The Reina Pepiada arepa is chicken, avacado and mayo. I requested they add tomato. Delicious! The flavor of the arepa was excellent and authentic tasting. For dessert we shared Bien Me Sabe - traditional Venezuelan vanilla cake with coconut cream filling topped with meringue layer and cinnamon powder. The coconut flakes with the moist topping was good. The food was well prepared at Leonore and the price was reasonable. read more

Best chicken parmesan I have ever had. Nice portion of two breast halves that were not pounded flat like other parms I have had. The outside was crispy and the chicken was tender with nicely melted mozzerella on top. Got it with linguini and marinara that had chunks of stewed tomatoes. Not an overly acidic marinara. Ate here with my family and between myself, my 10-year-old sister, and our parents we found nothing short of great! We started our embark into food paradise with the garlic knots and man were they tasty! The owner is from Venezuela so they have some local dishes that blew us all away! What a delightful place! We were expecting so-so Italian food, but when we saw the Venezuelan menu page, we asked the waitress what she recommended and had amazing arepas (little pocket sandwiches) handmade with a crispy cornbread. We had the reina pepeada (chicken and avocado) and the arepa de pabellon (beef, black beans and mozzarella). Wonderful! Made me want to try the entree pabellon criollo next time. No words can describe how amazing this place is if you're in the mood for Italian. Their pizza is one of if not the best New York style pizzas I've had in my short life (and I've been to New York). Their other options such as the Arepas and garlic rolls are equally delicious and bursting with flavor. One item that would almost seem trivial at other Italian restaurants but stands out here is the delicious wine infused marinara sauce they give you for dipping; this stuff was so good it honestly brought a few tears to my eyes and probably made me a better man lol. Don't skip on the deserts either as they are definitely worth their cost. Matt, our waiter, was extremely kind and helpful with his suggestions. Pizza was good once they got the order right the second time. Waitress told me they would not charge me for the second one! Oh thanks. Then the bill came and was totally wrong. Waitress said she would get the manager. He assured us he would do something special to make sure we left with a positive impression. Well he corrected the bill to match exactly what we ordered. Very disappointed with order my brother ordered a large and small meat pizza one with onions and one with bacon received 2 pizzas with no other meats just one with onions and one with bacon once we found the phone number to call all they offered was to refund his money but we had to keep the 2 pizzas that was delivered because they said it didn't show up in the system as 2 meat pizzas being in the food service industry for 32 years dealing with the public every day I was disappointed that they didn't offer to remake the pizzas the correct way and redeliver them this is the first time I've ever had a problem with them but now having to go through this experience it kind of makes me look at things differently I will rethink telling people about this place simply because the offer to remake the order was never offered as a banquet manager in the hotel industry you learn to look at other offers to keep your customers wanting to come back over and over no matter what this was not a good sign of that customer service experience that I would expect read more

We stopped here after seeing the positive reviews on Yelp. The garlic knots are great - very light and not too doughy. Limited beer menu features bottles only - but a good variety of choices. The arepas are the most authentic we've had since being in Venezuela! Finally - a place that knows how to make authentic arepas! The pizzas have a thin, flavorful crust and are delicious. Most surprising of all...we were stuffed with delicious food and drank beer, and our bill was much less than we anticipated! We will be back! read more

Great evening in this wonderful little family run restaurant! Our party of ten was greeted by a peppy and informative server who quickly took drink orders. She then introduced us to Arepas which none of us had ever heard of before. They were delectable! The pizzas were fresh and had a wonderful thin crust. So we came here based on Yelp reviews for my grandmother's birthday (pizza is her one true love) and we didn't really know what to expect. This place is soooooo good though, service was awesome and the food was amazing. We went back a couple days later. I definitely recommend you try the pizza and lasagna. Our friends at Milan Tobacconists - Premium Cigars, Briar Pipes & Related... (that's a long tag) recommended Leonore to us for lunch, and we are so happy that we went in for our first time! We were greeted with warm smiles and allowed to pick where we wanted to sit, which was great because we have a wiggly and adventurous toddler. Everything looked fancy, so I was hoping said toddler wouldn't disturb that atmosphere. I believe our server was named Jarred (sp), and he was sweet as can be! After we ordered, he made sure to keep tabs on us and make sure we had what we needed, and to make sure the food was okay. Food was AMAZING! Service was AMAZING! We only received smiles when our kiddo ran around, Haha! Such a happy and welcoming place with awesome food with heart put into it! Thanks, Jarred, and everyone else who made our lunch fantastic. We came in right after the lunch rush (3 pm). The ham and mushroom calzone was just mediocre and the top was a bit burned. The chicken parmigian was very good and the chicken Alfredo was pretty good. We enjoyed the free garlic knots for checking in with Yelp. The restaurant was clean and inviting. The service was good. read more

This pizza is incredible. Perfect little restaurant to go grab a quick meal. Super inexpensive lunch specials make this a popular lunch spot during the week but the dinner is really the best. Called ahead about yelp offer. Girl on phone said it would be fine. Ordered 2 entrees for pick up. When we came in they said offer only good for dine in...food is great, but customer service is a lacking as they would not budge asking me who I talked to and that they couldnt give me yelp offer unless we sat down and ate. Dissapointing as I made it clear on phone that I wanted to use coupon and they said it was fine, but then rescinded offer when I came for pick up. Yelp offer says absolutely nothing about dining in to get offer. Would have been an easy 5 star review if not for this happening. read more

I've tried tried Leonore a few more times since my last review. They have converted me. I've now tried the pizza and a few menu items that I normally wouldn't order (like the wings) that were very good. The service is exceptional. Leonore has become a regular stop in downtown Roanoke.
