Quien fue mi doctor Youssef, fue poco empatico, nunca se preocupó por educarnos. Cuando pedimos nuestros récords médicos, casi no había tomado ni notas. Literalmente no nos estaba prestando atención. Supimos de él 5 meses después de esta tragedia. En su oficina su asistente médica nunca contestó, termine visitando a la emergencia del Mercy, sala de de labour and delivery. En donde fui enviada de vuelta a casa por el Dr. Francisco Cruz, también parte de Bayshore, con contracciones, SI! ME MANDARON A CASA CON CONTRACCIONES. Me pusieron el toco monitor pero no lo leyeron (de esto nos dimos cuenta porque tomamos fotos y luego investigamos). Me trataron como tonta por ser mi primer bebé y me mandaron a casa con contracciones diciéndome que lo que necesitaba era beber agua, que el dolor pélvico se me quitaría al siguiente mes y que si necesitaba algo solo llamara a la línea de emergencia de bayshore. Y a las pocas horas rompí fuente en casa. Llame mil veces a sus líneas de emergencia antes de romper fuente y ni ellos ni los Triana, ni Cárdenas atendieron. Todos ignoraron mi llamado. Y por eso estoy dejando este review porque todos los días pienso en las mujeres que van a este lugar y pueden tener una emergencia y que ni siquiera le contesten. Yo estoy viva gracias a intervención oportuna del servicio de ambulancias de la ciudad de Miami. Quienes tuvieron que detener la ambulancia varías veces vía a hospital para estabilizarme. Y también por su buen juicio en no llevarme a Mercy Hospital, aún cuando vivo solo a 7 minutos. Me dijeron "allí no te van a atender bien". Esa fue la primera vez en todo este proceso que me di cuenta que estaba yendo al lugar incorrecto. Que terrible era ver la cara de impacto de los médicos del lugar en donde me llevaron, porque no entendían cómo se habían saltado tantos protocolos conmigo. The tech saw me first, and then I was seen by Dr. Ferro. She got the reason incorrect for my visit not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES. She showed a complete lack of interest, lack of knowledge, lack of understanding. My reason for sitting in that office was primarily her doing, additionally communicated to the tech, and should have been in my patient file. After explaining to her again (and again) why I was there, she ended the visit by APOLOGIZING for wasting my time. "I'm so sorry for having brought you in here and wasted your time" - I should have recorded her. If the only thing wasted was time, a negative review would already be necessary. However, I paid $50 for this visit at the office. In January, I received a bill for $119 for this visit. Now, in April, I have just received a further bill of $25. The front desk staff is either unempowered or unable to answer for billing questions, both of which are unacceptable. They say these are all for the same visit, just now being processed for insurance. In December I already had found a new provider as I would never return to someone who doesn't listen to her patients and who arrives unprepared for the visit she requested. However, it is clear now that her office is simply trying to extort their patients for their money and their insurer's money. During my quick labor and once she actually acknowledged my pain, asking if I wanted epidural, it was too late. At one point, she yelled at me to shut up. My postpartum appointment was impersonal; she did not remember basic details about me and also asked the gender of my child she had just delivered. It was laughed off as she was so busy, how could she remember them all. The associated OB she must work with to overlook her patients, Dr. Cantero, provided rushed, impersonal care. We received quick ultrasounds without much explanation or even time to enjoy the experience. He left the room so fast once, leaving the door wide open while I was reclined half naked in the chair needing help to get up. Worst of all, he incorrectly gave us our baby's gender ensuring he was "99% sure." I still STRONGLY advise choosing a qualified OB over midwifery, especially if complications or health concerns arise. Nelly lacked empathy (possibly the knowledge) and care to send me high-risk help in my situation. With such great reviews on both providers, I felt the need to leave my honest, detailed experience hoping it helps someone. High ratings don't always mean high quality, especially when those reviews lack detail.
