Everyone raves about Dr Fink, and yet 99% of women now a days don't ever get to see him. If you are…read moreconsidering this practice because you have heard great things about Dr Fink, know that more likely that not, you will never see him. My review on his practice: STILLBIRTH DELIVERY on 1.1.15 Longest and most heartfelt review I will write on yelp: From day 1, I never waned to see Dr Tumero, as a close friend of mine had a still birth in 2nd tri under her care. Said friend reviewed her file with head doctor (Fink), both came to the conclusion that closer monitoring and treatment could had made a difference. Fast forward and guess who I get stuck with? Yes, Dr. Tumero Details:I had a regular doctors visit on 12/31/14, during my ultrasound, tech noticed that heartbeat was slow, she quickly called Dr Simmel in and I was asked to head over to baptist for further monitoring. Upon arriving to baptist (5 minutes later, as building is right next door), my daughters heartbeat was detected by monitor used by nurse. Five minutes later, Dr Tumero (who was on duty at hospital) shows up and requests bed side u/s. U/s tech arrived within a couple of minutes and by then, my daughter was gone. Between time of my arrival, check in, blah blah blah, about 10 minutes passed. Though you maybe thinking, 10 minutes is not that long, it is when your child's life is at risk. Knowing what I know now (further testing detected that I have an autoimmune disease which often correlates with still births if left untreated) I understand that OTHER factors COULD have caused my daughters passing, however, we did not know (still don't) what "the cause" was when it was all going down,so my thoughts are: If Dr. Simmel called baptist to let them know that I was heading there with baby with slow heartbeat, why the delay in dr Tumero showing up? My daughter passed away at this hospital, all while we were present. Why was an emergency c- section not done if one minute there was heartbeat and not the next? so many questions. I know that nothing will ever bring her back, but I question the response time and how the situation was handled. ------- As if what I described above is not reason enough as to why to avoid this practice, here are additional mishaps that took place during pregnancy. I had a VERY healthy pregnancy, so my visits were short and to the point. However, there were many mishaps along the way, one of them being that a test which is done during 2nd trimester detecting abnormalities was overlooked. They apologized for that, and during that time I didn't think it was a big deal, but after having lost my child, I wish that every single test had been done. Aside from that, there was a lot of back and forth with medication prescribed (Diclegis for nausea and vomiting) the office sent prescription to my pharmacy for wrong amount (less pills) so I was having to go back for refills every couple of weeks, spending more money per bottler, wasting time and gas. It wasn't until the pharmacist asked me why I hadn't just ordered 100 pills to begin with vs 30 at a time, that we were able to correct the issue by calling obgyn and having them send correct prescription. U/s tech with long hair- this lady is one of the most unpleasant people I have ever met in the industry. I do not recall her name, but I saw her twice early in pregnancy and requested not to see her again. I tried both times to initiate small talk (commenting on her daughter's ballet pictures/ asking about her day) and got nothing. She always had a crappy face on, and was non responsive. Having an u/s done is both exciting and stressful, she did zero to make the experience more pleasant. Please stay away from this place if you are expecting, it is my only suggestion. During a doctor's career, there is no doubt that lives will be lost for x or y reason. I just REALLY feel that my daughter's life could have been spared, if things had been addressed promptly.

I was 45 minutes late to my appointment because there was NO PARKING AT ALL. I literally had to sit in the middle of the parking lot just waiting for someone else to leave. After driving 1.5 hours from the Florida Keys. The staff was ok. Nothing special. They kept opening the door widely while I was naked on the table, just covered by a piece of paper... this made me uncomfortable. The doctor was not personable or friendly. Even though I was late to my appointment, I still had to wait another 40 minutes because they were that backed up. And I swore I would never use this office again if I need a special procedure. Now they are leaving all their Keys Women in a lurch as they are SUDDENLY closing the Tavernier office, with ZERO NOTICE. (I'm here now and no one has mentioned that they'll be shut down on Friday permanently.) I highly recommend avoiding this disaster.

Finding a new doctor is never easy so of course, I turned to Yelp. I knew I wanted to try to have a…read morebaby and didn't want to do it with my previous gynecologist. After meeting Dr. Perez, I felt confident that this would be a good choice for me! Since it's a practice of three doctors (Lievano, Perez, and Collado), you meet with them all throughout your pregnancy, but can schedule appointments with just one for regular care like annual exams. I liked that they're super close to Baptist Hospital which ended up being a great hospital for my delivery. Speaking of, the thing about a practice is that you never know which doctor will be on call so it's best not to have your heart set on having a certain doctor there when you go into labor. On the weekends, they rotate with another practice entirely which I didn't learn until later, and it was a bit scary to know I may have a doctor I've never even met. Dr. Collado ended up being there when the time came and I'm SO happy and thankful! She was awesome the entire time, saved me from having an emergency C-Section, cooperated with my doula, and stayed at the hospital the entire night while we waited for my baby to arrive (and was there early the next morning!). I loved having her so much, I was set on keeping her as my main doctor moving forward. Unfortunately I moved, but would definitely encourage others to make an appointment with her if you're looking for a new gyno. Given how often I had to go there during my pregnancy, I'd say that wait times weren't bad on average, but there were a couple of times that were long, usually when a doctor was unexpectedly out. The nurses were always super kind though and great at taking blood. The ultrasound tech was also nice, and the back office was usually pretty good about helping me with billing issues, insurance, etc. Overall, I'm pleased with my experience. Pregnancy and birth can be super vulnerable and a bit nerve wracking, but I'd trust this team to do it again if I was in Miami.

I was so excited to find that Jackson are VBAC friendly - something I really wanted - and here was this absolutely equipped hospital to support me in that. My OB was Dr. Rachel Franklyn and all her wonderful team, very attentive and friendly. My little one came super fast (being the 3rd and all!) and I was treated with professionalism and the level of care was beyond great. And look, I've delivered every child of mine at different hospitals. My first was at a private hospital (well to do and all) in Los Angeles. The second was a c-section in a different hospital which was public in LA also. So I had those to compare my experience at Jackson. I only have really good things to say. They were the only hospital that never took my baby away to weigh or whatnot (after a healthy routine birth ofc) and they REALLY prioritize skin to skin. I was told I could hold him and bond as long as I wanted to and whenever I was ready they would do those measurements and further procedures they do normally with baby. Literally they were so respectful. I couldn't get an epidural because it all went so fast and there was no way I was going to be able to sit still through those surges but the nurses kept me calm and encouraged me throughout the contractions. Always checking on me, holding my hand, encouraging my husband and guiding us both through a wonderful and intense life moment. During delivery one nurse even was thoughtful enough to pick up my phone right after delivery and document/photograph the moment we met our son. Those photos are among my most treasured and I didn't ask or plan for that. I always felt treated with respect and like a human to be cared for on every level. I would deliver there again in a heartbeat without question they are so experienced and kind!
