She refused to listen to me. Abhorrent behavior. I scheduled the follow up, basically with no choice, and came for the visit in December of 2024. The tech saw me first, and then I was seen by Dr. Ferro. She got the reason incorrect for my visit not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES. She showed a complete lack of interest, lack of knowledge, lack of understanding. My reason for sitting in that office was primarily her doing, additionally communicated to the tech, and should have been in my patient file. After explaining to her again (and again) why I was there, she ended the visit by APOLOGIZING for wasting my time. "I'm so sorry for having brought you in here and wasted your time" - I should have recorded her. If the only thing wasted was time, a negative review would already be necessary. However, I paid $50 for this visit at the office. In January, I received a bill for $119 for this visit. Now, in April, I have just received a further bill of $25. The front desk staff is either unempowered or unable to answer for billing questions, both of which are unacceptable. They say these are all for the same visit, just now being processed for insurance. In December I already had found a new provider as I would never return to someone who doesn't listen to her patients and who arrives unprepared for the visit she requested. However, it is clear now that her office is simply trying to extort their patients for their money and their insurer's money. This office should be shut down - I wouldn't wish this experience on any person.

While I was a student at UM, the office was very close and convenient. Through the years, I moved and continued to come back but it's just not worth it anymore. After countless appointments, I'd say it's very hit or miss with whether you will wait a long time to be seen or not. I always tried to book my appointments as early as possible to avoid them getting backed up, but the uncertainty is stressful. Parking is available in the same garage as the Whole Foods and if you go too late, it gets difficult to find parking, as well. Towards the end, I became frustrated with how quick my appointments would be. I felt like the doctor was always in a rush to move on and didn't take time to really talk to me about my needs, even after being a patient for so long. The office itself isn't super inviting and I feel like their systems could be updated. I did things like change my name and address countless times through their different portals and found outdated info each time I came in. I recently switched practices and honestly regret not doing it sooner. I no longer have a feeling of dread when my appointments come around!

Despite arriving in spontaneous labor, I was treated as though I was being induced, including being given large amounts of Pitocin and being rushed into having my water broken. After ultimately undergoing a C-section, I experienced serious complications. I began hemorrhaging due to uterine atony and passed large blood clots. At one point, multiple nurses were repeatedly pressing on my abdomen in an effort to control the bleeding. During this frightening situation, Dr. Bestard was nowhere to be found, and I was given little to no explanation about what was happening or why these complications were occurring. What made the experience even more distressing was the lack of communication, reassurance, and bedside manner throughout the process. I felt rushed, uninformed, and abandoned during one of the most vulnerable moments of my life. Rather than feeling cared for, I felt like I was being moved through the system as quickly as possible. The emotional impact has been significant. A year later, I am still in therapy working through the trauma associated with my delivery and postpartum complications. While I understand that complications can occur in childbirth, patients deserve clear communication, compassionate care, and support when things go wrong. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

My review on his practice: STILLBIRTH DELIVERY on 1.1.15 Longest and most heartfelt review I will write on yelp: From day 1, I never waned to see Dr Tumero, as a close friend of mine had a still birth in 2nd tri under her care. Said friend reviewed her file with head doctor (Fink), both came to the conclusion that closer monitoring and treatment could had made a difference. Fast forward and guess who I get stuck with? Yes, Dr. Tumero Details:I had a regular doctors visit on 12/31/14, during my ultrasound, tech noticed that heartbeat was slow, she quickly called Dr Simmel in and I was asked to head over to baptist for further monitoring. Upon arriving to baptist (5 minutes later, as building is right next door), my daughters heartbeat was detected by monitor used by nurse. Five minutes later, Dr Tumero (who was on duty at hospital) shows up and requests bed side u/s. U/s tech arrived within a couple of minutes and by then, my daughter was gone. Between time of my arrival, check in, blah blah blah, about 10 minutes passed. Though you maybe thinking, 10 minutes is not that long, it is when your child's life is at risk. Knowing what I know now (further testing detected that I have an autoimmune disease which often correlates with still births if left untreated) I understand that OTHER factors COULD have caused my daughters passing, however, we did not know (still don't) what "the cause" was when it was all going down,so my thoughts are: If Dr. Simmel called baptist to let them know that I was heading there with baby with slow heartbeat, why the delay in dr Tumero showing up? My daughter passed away at this hospital, all while we were present. Why was an emergency c- section not done if one minute there was heartbeat and not the next? so many questions. I know that nothing will ever bring her back, but I question the response time and how the situation was handled. ------- As if what I described above is not reason enough as to why to avoid this practice, here are additional mishaps that took place during pregnancy. I had a VERY healthy pregnancy, so my visits were short and to the point. However, there were many mishaps along the way, one of them being that a test which is done during 2nd trimester detecting abnormalities was overlooked. They apologized for that, and during that time I didn't think it was a big deal, but after having lost my child, I wish that every single test had been done. Aside from that, there was a lot of back and forth with medication prescribed (Diclegis for nausea and vomiting) the office sent prescription to my pharmacy for wrong amount (less pills) so I was having to go back for refills every couple of weeks, spending more money per bottler, wasting time and gas. It wasn't until the pharmacist asked me why I hadn't just ordered 100 pills to begin with vs 30 at a time, that we were able to correct the issue by calling obgyn and having them send correct prescription. U/s tech with long hair- this lady is one of the most unpleasant people I have ever met in the industry. I do not recall her name, but I saw her twice early in pregnancy and requested not to see her again. I tried both times to initiate small talk (commenting on her daughter's ballet pictures/ asking about her day) and got nothing. She always had a crappy face on, and was non responsive. Having an u/s done is both exciting and stressful, she did zero to make the experience more pleasant. Please stay away from this place if you are expecting, it is my only suggestion. During a doctor's career, there is no doubt that lives will be lost for x or y reason. I just REALLY feel that my daughter's life could have been spared, if things had been addressed promptly.
