So I started looking for someone to redo them and fix all the damage on my hard wood. I found Kirk on yelp. Kirk came out and gave me a quote. I waited about three months and then I set a date with him to start the job. I was so nervous because it's a lot moving out for a week and taking all the furniture out of the house. Kirk said don't worry my guys will move everything out and move everything back in. We are professionals, we will take good care of you. And he absolutely did. I have very expensive antiques and furniture. I cannot express how happy I am with my floors. They are gorgeous!!!! His crew is first class. I had vip service in every aspect of the job. My floors have not been this good in over 30 years. He took out a planter separating my dining room and living room and put in hardwood floor. You can't even tell it was ever there. He told me that it was a miscommunication, he offered the service of sanding and polyurethane (2 coats) what he forgot to mention that there was another service where they completely sanded the floors and polyurethane them, the service we got was barely sanded (there was zero sanding dust in our home (hence we could still see the areas of dirt trail) in the floors. If you own a business how do you NOT offer up every service that is available, now we're stuck with a bill and all we got is shiny (dirty floors) it just blew me away because the guy is a great human but we now have to get someone else to come in and do the floors so they look fantastic.

Our HOA required very stringent paperwork, insurance, etc from the contractor. After going through the nightmare of several other contractors -- one who promised they met the requirements but ended up not doing so, one who just decided midway through that they didn't want the job anymore, and one who did not send in any requested paperwork days before the HOA deadline, we made a call to Alvarez Flooring who LITERALLY SAVED THE DAY. When I explain the project to Steve, he had the paperwork sent within the day insurance was available, the contract signed, and invoice sent - this was all within 48 hours of our first conversation on the phone . He and Beatriz maintained incredible communication throughout the entire process. He was available to install the flooring the moment that we were allowed to, and he sent photo updates as the flooring was being installed. One example of his incredible integrity is that I had purchased a specific underlayment to put under the flooring, but for some reason the manufacture wants you to install it upside down from the usual configuration. When I noticed this and notified Steve, he verified and owned up to the issue and redid the underlayment completely, making sure that the job is done right. Our HOA required plastic covering of the entire hallway and elevator. -- Steve and Beatriz followed this rule, and made sure that we would not be liable from the HOA for making the common area dirty. We have worked with many contractors in the past for various remodel jobs, including multiple flooring jobs. I have never met anybody who is as communicative , honest, punctual, responsible, and just genuinely kind as Steve and Beatriz . They have won a lifelong fan. (Initial review) Initially when Alex first gets your business, they seem responsive and even tells me about how shoddy of a job the previous flooring people did in my home (fixed by previous owners). But the moment any small issues come up, Alex just ghosts his customers. In the video you can see the cracks happening under normal body weight. I really wanted to believe that at the very least he and his team will try to provide any rectification, even if it's just to come out again to check on the floor to see what else can be done, like I wouldn't even have mind paying an additional small fee for materials.
