It is too early for wine? Of course not!…read more Especially if the wine is from the Lancaster Beer and Wine Gallery, located between Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse on Old Philadelphia Pike in Pennsylvania, in the heart of Amish Country. Enjoy tasting the vast selections of wines from the Mount Hope Estate & Winery - home to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire - on the first floor and then have a snack and a beer from the Rumspringa Brewing Company in the Barn Cafe on the second floor. Whatever you do, do not go home without one or two (or several) bottles of their outstanding wines. Nothing at your local shop will compare. Our favorites include: Honey Mead - their 2010 Vintage Gold and 2011 Vintage Bronze Winner at the PA Wine Association Competition, made from 100% Lancaster County honey. Blackberry Wine - a selection from their Cornucopia of Fruit Series. A full-bodied medium sweet wine with a strong berry flavor. Becky's Blush - an Amish-inspired wine from their Intercourse Series (What? It's a real name of a real village, so grow up.) This is an extremely sweet blush from the catawba grape, best served chilled. Quilter's Delight - another Amish-inspired wine and our hands-down favorite. A medium-sweet white, perfect for company, gift-giving, or anytime! Other offerings include their Fantasy, New World, Royal, and Euro Hybrid Series. Try them all. You will not be disappointed. Visit the Karmin Kuisine Tour at our website or on Facebook.

Beirhall has coloring pages available by the door which is nice for families with kids, as well. There is also an outdoor seating area that is pebbled and has some lawn games available like corn hole. Their chicken schnitzel is really good as well as their nachos. Everyone at our table loved their meals. I wish the brewery provided more instruction when you come in. The first time we came in, no one was around to greet us and we didn't know how things worked. Finally we sat and waited and then realized you order via a bar code. I think they could benefit from some low, vibey music. Both times we have come, it's been very quiet, almost like a library. Everyone has been hushed around their tables and or watching tv. It's a bit odd, like a library that sells beer. Otherwise the food is pretty good and the are cold & crisp. I haven't had a ton of interaction with staff because they kind of just drop the food off and move on, but when we have interacted they have been friendly. This place is a cool addition to the area and a good spot for a yummy meal, cold beer and a relaxed night.

My son returned from a long-haul drive, delivering a large stone relic from Nashville to Lancaster…read more I decided to meet him at what I believe is the last Your Place Restaurant left on Earth. It used to be that YP was all over central PA, and its Stromboli was legendary. I have friends who ask me to order it in advance of their visits, beings across multiple dimensions sing songs of its quality, and it is a mandatory part of a royal feast in the court of at least three demigods. I would have these meetings with clients at the Harrisburg and Hershey locations before they closed, insisting on bacon-cheddar fries and a large 'boli to make sure everyone was happy and satisfied. We would attend the buffets to have our fill of the freshly baked pizza and spicy 'bolis with soup. For years, it was a tradition before the last location closed in my area. This location is on Route 30 where traffic from the west goes from 70mph to 30 in about a quarter of a mile. It is located in the tourist zone near Dutch Wonderland and in the parking lot of an economy motel. It opened at 11 on Saturday, and it was just Tennyson and me catching up on life, the universe, and everything, alone in the dining room. We ordered that 'boli and fries. Our server was attentive, friendly, and fun. My glass was never empty, and she sold me on the app to take advantage of special deals and quick pay on the tab. The dining room was dark and quiet. It reminded me of the old Hershey YP that felt like a basement speakeasy. We had our food in a short time, and the legendary 'boli was as I remembered. It seemed smaller, but I imagine that's just me. The bacon-cheddar fries were not as I remembered because the cheese pooled at the bottom of the bowl, runnier than cheesy than I remembered, but still pretty good based on the quality of the fried potatoes and crispy bacon. I can say that it reminded me of visiting an old friend and being reminded of the good times. It's okay that things change because the core is still quality.

My husband found this restaurant looking for a place for a celebratory dinner. We are from out of…read moretown and the location fed into our sense of adventure! We were wonderfully greeted and the hostess spent the perfect amount of time chatting with us after seating us at an intimate table inside. I was glad I had perused the menu beforehand, so I wasn't shocked at the prices. However, as mentioned, it was a celebratory dinner. I had picked the duck (more on that later), but may have switched to a steak had it not been for the $$$. We ordered the following appetizers/starters: tuna carpaccio, house salad, bone marrow and house selection of bread. All of these were the highlights of the meal! The tuna was thinly sliced, great flavor with the cucumber and the perfect amount of 'dressing'. The house salad was also delicious - wonderful combination of flavors. I was worried about the strawberry dressing (served on the side), but was the perfect balance of sweet and vinegar. The bone marrow was also delicious- we should have gotten one each as we were both scraping the bone for every last morsel. The bread deserves its own paragraph. I will preface by saying I have tried to be gluten free for the past eight months and not eaten any bread. I melted into my seat with every bite of bread. There was a selection of pretzel bread, my first choice. Eaten with a small amount of butter, I thought, thank goodness I tried this first, it will be easy to say no to the other bread. Wrong. The focaccia with herbed olive oil was even better! Had the same thought again - well, at least I will be able to pass on the other slices. Nope. The sliced bread was even better. Although i could hear my mother scoffing at having to pay for bread, this was worth it. Unfortunately, this is where my enthusiasm wanes. My husband ordered the salmon and really enjoyed it. I tried a bite and also thought it was a good dish. I ordered the duck. The duck was cooked to my order (medium rare) and flavors were very good. Unfortunately, the mocha rub was more of a crust (encasement?), not a huge deal, but the duck itself was not tender and took a lot of chewing. Other Notes: The atmosphere was fantastic! The wine selection was excellent and provided a nice variety of prices per glass. Service was excellent. For dessert, I had a macchiato and the tiramisu; it was ok. I should have ordered one of the housemade desserts, but wanted something smaller. My husband ordered the cheesecake and wolfed it down (a good sign after such a large meal). Since we are from out of town and it was a one of a kind celebration, I can't say we will be back, but if money were not an issue, I would really enjoy coming here again and trying a different entree

The menu felt very contrived; why do I need fruit or pistachios in a pasta dish? Way too many ingredients in their dishes which made it very difficult to pick a meal. I'd never return. Not a pleasant experience.

Our first stop of the day was Rumspringa Brewery which I had been to about 12 years prior, just before I started yelping. It's co located with my hope wine gallery. The taproom itself has bright wood floors which dominate the color scheme and then there is merchandise all around the room including sweatshirts and beer to go. Finally there are pictures of Amish country on one of the walls which is fitting. I went with a flight here As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery. At rumspringa it consists of 5 beers for $15. I chose the harvest gold, red caboose, otra mas, altbier and finally the blood orange cider. For my first beer I started with the Harvest gold which was a nice malty beer with lots of flavor and a clean finish. Second was the Red caboose which tasted like a nice brown with some hops on the front and a nice caramelly flavor on the finish. Up third was the Otra mas which had a smooth start with a sort of malty and sour type finish all rolled into one. I don't think I have had a beer like this in a long time and it wasn't my favorite. Fourth was the altbier which also had a smooth start with a deep rich flavor on the finish. It was a really nicely flavored beer and my favorite of the bunch. Last but certainly not least was the Blood orange cider which was sweet from the start with a bit of fruit at the finish. I don't know that I could have told you it was blood orange until the end of the aftertaste which had almost a perfume like taste of it. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. It doesn't seem like you are going to get any supper hoppy or trendy beers here and that's ok as they are doing good with more traditional recipes.
