They have a handful of other locations, all of them with similar wait times for appointments; being in Henderson, this was one of the closer locations to me. If you're a new patient, you'll want to arrive 30 minutes early to fill out the paperwork. It will maybe be confusing when you first arrive since Advanced Heart Care shares a building with Siena Cardiology. Just make sure you are going into Ste. 120 (2641 W. Horizon Ridge Pkwy). The waiting area is pretty nice with comfortable seating, magazines, and a TV. The receptionist was friendly and got me checked in really quickly. The wait was a tad long, but not by too much. I think I waited an extra 15-25 minutes to be brought back and to have the nurse do triage/vitals check and my EKG. Then we waited about 10-15 more minutes for the doctor in the patient room. It's a small room, so I had to be extra mindful of keeping my toddler contained to a small space while we waited, but he was fine. Dr. Ismail was a breath of fresh air and smart. He was able to look at my charts and details quickly and easily and point out what other practitioners have been missing and what I've been suspecting for years... and I didn't even have to advocate for myself at all or feel like I had to explain anything. He was just so knowledgeable and knew exactly what would be the best next steps for my treatment, and he also explained everything to me without wasting my time. I finally feel like I'm getting the help I need after years of practitioners/doctors forcing the same ineffective treatment over and over again that has proved to fail time and time again. The medical profession needs more knowledgeable practitioners like Dr. Ismail! Be aware that he may come off to some people as a bit curt and straight to the point, however he is not rude. He doesn't waste time during the appointment and is focused on diagnosis, explanation, and next steps without the fluff, and I prefer that over time-wasting "care" that goes nowhere.

A lot of patience don't listen or make any effort to change things to improve their heart issues. In the past, I have dealt with an unhealthy looking cardiologist as well as condescending ones. I did some research in Las Vegas and initially I was reluctant to go to another cardiologist because of my previous history with them. This practice had a fairly long wait for some of their on staff cardiologists, I was given the option of a practicing nurse with thorough cardiology experience. I actually was not reluctant because I had good experience with practicing nurses before. Jessica was absolutely professional and listened to me and we reviewed my history together. That day they did an EKG and everything was good with that. My next visit will be an ultrasound as well as bloodwork. So far, I have been happy, but I am cautious because of my history.

He said it was no big deal. A few months later I had another heart attack. Thankfully Dr. Chu was the on call cardiologist. He was able to stent the artery. He focuses on educating you, not just telling you what to do or handing you a prescription and moving on. I really appreciate that, because it makes you feel involved in your own care instead of just being processed through an appointment. He is confident in his answers, thoughtful in how he explains things, and very thorough. That confidence and clarity make it much easier to trust the decisions being made. I would much rather wait a little longer to see a doctor like this than see someone who rushes in, rushes out, and leaves you unsure about what is really going on. So I went though a battery of tests which showed absolutely no issues. I then asked why he would say I had a heart attack. The answer was "well, your heart could have repaired itself or it was so minor to not cause damage." When I asked him why the EKG would have shown a heart attack, he really had no answer. 4 doctors since then and none have stated I had a heart attack. His BS disagnosis has caused me to lose a primary care doctor when I objected to the heart attack garbage in my records. Stay away from this guy. I don't think he's a quality doctor.
