I really like his personality. Dr. Sheikh takes the time to discuss concerns and listen to what you have to say.

"To give someone a piece of your heart is worth more than all the wealth in the world."…read more Unfortunately, we are born with one heart. Thump, thump, thump as it pumps blood through your body. Now and again we need a heart check up so that blockages don't happen. On a recent heart scan my primary doctor found an artifact. I have used other locations with this practice, but this time around I'm a new patient. It's not just the heart valve that needs a check it's the blood flow between the veins as it returns back to the heart. It's truly intriguing how life tends to go in an individuals favor. Let me explain. As a patient this time around, my complaint is with veins and perhaps a blockage somewhere. The doctor that I was referred to is a vein specialist. Go figure on those odds. They are going to run lots of tests to determine what the issue is. My chief complaint is pain in the lower limbs which co insides with blood flow through the body and it not producing enough oxygen to get it where it needs to be. Failure is not an option. The specialists here specifically focus on the heart and vein system return. You are in great hands putting your trust in their hands. Let life pump through your veins as love flows back to your heart and all around your body and soul.

I was referred to one doctor, yet I received bills from 4 doctors. I was quoted a price and billed quadruple the price. I was told after all this that everything is fine, yet I'm not sure I believe it as they seem to only be interested in the bottom line. I was referred to Nevada Heart & Vascular by my regular doctor. I received a quote for services that were under $350, which I agreed to because I had the funds in my FSA to cover the costs. Apparently their quote didn't include much of anything as the final bill was over $1,900. Despite the shocking bill, which I received in December of 2024 for services rendered in November, I promptly paid it. I was shocked when I received an additional bill in April 2025, saying I owed more money and I had 7 days to pay or they would send me to collections. I followed up with their billing department and my insurance and my understanding is that they resubmitted for more money 4 months after my visit AND after everything had already been paid in full. Apparently, this practice didn't make enough in 2024 and decided to go back and re-bill patients 4 months later in an attempt to get more money. How this is NOT fraud, I don't understand. I would stay away from Nevada Heart & Vascular. Repeated attempts to get anyone to return a phone call from his office have not been successful.

They have a handful of other locations, all of them with similar wait times for appointments; being in Henderson, this was one of the closer locations to me. If you're a new patient, you'll want to arrive 30 minutes early to fill out the paperwork. It will maybe be confusing when you first arrive since Advanced Heart Care shares a building with Siena Cardiology. Just make sure you are going into Ste. 120 (2641 W. Horizon Ridge Pkwy). The waiting area is pretty nice with comfortable seating, magazines, and a TV. The receptionist was friendly and got me checked in really quickly. The wait was a tad long, but not by too much. I think I waited an extra 15-25 minutes to be brought back and to have the nurse do triage/vitals check and my EKG. Then we waited about 10-15 more minutes for the doctor in the patient room. It's a small room, so I had to be extra mindful of keeping my toddler contained to a small space while we waited, but he was fine. Dr. Ismail was a breath of fresh air and smart. He was able to look at my charts and details quickly and easily and point out what other practitioners have been missing and what I've been suspecting for years... and I didn't even have to advocate for myself at all or feel like I had to explain anything. He was just so knowledgeable and knew exactly what would be the best next steps for my treatment, and he also explained everything to me without wasting my time. I finally feel like I'm getting the help I need after years of practitioners/doctors forcing the same ineffective treatment over and over again that has proved to fail time and time again. The medical profession needs more knowledgeable practitioners like Dr. Ismail! Be aware that he may come off to some people as a bit curt and straight to the point, however he is not rude. He doesn't waste time during the appointment and is focused on diagnosis, explanation, and next steps without the fluff, and I prefer that over time-wasting "care" that goes nowhere.

Dr. Parilak truly takes time with each patient, and that is something you do not see very often anymore. When it is finally your turn, you do not feel rushed at all. He takes the time to explain what is going on, answers questions in plain language, and makes sure you actually understand your condition and the plan. He focuses on educating you, not just telling you what to do or handing you a prescription and moving on. I really appreciate that, because it makes you feel involved in your own care instead of just being processed through an appointment. He is confident in his answers, thoughtful in how he explains things, and very thorough. That confidence and clarity make it much easier to trust the decisions being made. I would much rather wait a little longer to see a doctor like this than see someone who rushes in, rushes out, and leaves you unsure about what is really going on. Overall, Dr. Parilak is exactly the kind of cardiologist you want if you value thoughtful care, clear explanations, and a doctor who actually takes the time to get it right.

My husband had an appt there last November, he had to call day of to cancel because he woke up sick (ended up having Covid). The girl on the phone told him they'd waive the $50 cancellation fee. Well months later we got the bill in the mail to pay the $50. Twice I called (the times that they answered the phone) the girl said "oh yeah I remember this and yes you're fine I'll put it on my office managers desk to remind her". Another month goes by, got another bill in the mail, so I stopped into the office a few weeks ago to handle it because we're not going to collections over $50. I explained to the girl up front what was happening, she was new so she went in the back to talk to the office manager, Gina. She came up and said there's nothing in the notes saying it was waived so we had to pay. The office manager came up to the front to get something and didn't acknowledge me knowing there was an issue. I asked if she was the office manager and right off the bat she had an attitude. She said the original girl who I spoke to no longer works there (not surprised because every time we'd go they have someone new up front). She asked if we had a doctors note stating my husband had Covid, I said no because he wasn't ill enough to need to go to urgent care. She asked how we knew he had Covid then. I told her you can buy the tests at CVS? She then asked "well do you have a picture of the test?" I said no because this was 6 months ago at this point and we were told not to worry about it. If the original girl who canceled the appt told him to get a doctor's note from urgent care, he would have. NOT ONCE did Gina apologize for the miscommunication, the misinformation, the inconvenience etc. I made a comment about us not coming back and she said "that's fine". Gina probably runs out every office girl who works there if she treats them just as bad as she treated a patient.
